It was one little illegal entry into a billionaire's home. What could possibly go wrong?
Aria Dixon is an artistic free-spirit who likes to have fun with men -- in the bedroom. Once sheâs had her fun she moves on -- until she tries to sneak into one man's apartment only to discover he knows more about her than she thinks. Sure, this guy is rich and gorgeous, but is he worth hanging around for? Alexander Hawthorne is your average wealthy recluse, with a wicked mother hell-bent on controlling every aspect of his life. When he falls in love -- with a painting -- and discovers the artist is even more breathtaking than her work, he is determined to escape his golden prison to be with her.
Aria wrinkled her nose causing my smile to widen. âDo you own the building?â
She formed a circle with her hands and moved them up and down like she was giving a hand job to an abnormally large penis, âYou know, phallic-shaped buildings. Ohh, yeah, I do love me some building. Thatâs it, baby, work my building.â
I grabbed her wrists stopping her and glanced around to make sure her friend, Evaleen, the one who let us use Mimirâs lawyer and conference room, didnât walk in.
âJesus, Aria. What are you, a teenager?â
âNo, Iâm twenty-nine but in my heart, Iâm a horny eighteen-year-old.â She winked at me.
My cock went hard instantly. The way she was so casual and free with sex and her artistic talent . . . she made me want to do things to her body I only fantasized about. Things that she might not like.
I cleared my throat, dropping her wrists. âYes, I own the building.â
She jumped up from the chair and threw her arms open. âThatâs wonderful, Alex! Now you can do whatever changes you want.â
Aria stood there, her arms still wide and I knew she wanted to give me a hug. I wanted to do that too, but something stopped me. The same thing that stopped me from going up to her in that gallery when I first noticed her years ago.
I nodded. âYes, I can pick one of your drawings now. Maybe even tear down the wall and make the room bigger.â
My mind raced with ideas. I felt like a child let loose in an amusement park with no one there. Any ride free to enjoy but which to pick first? My gaze fell to her breasts.
âSo, no hug then?â Ariaâs lips ticked up.
âWe should keep this professional. How we started off meeting wasnât right. I want to keep things on track,â I said as I focused on gathering the paperwork.
I was such a liar. Of course, I wanted to hug her. I wanted to do lots of things to her, but if she ever found out the truth about me I know I would lose her forever. Iâd rather have Aria for a short time in my life than not at all.
âFair enough. Letâs at least shake on it.â
Aria pushed her hand out. Setting the papers down, I turned in my seat but didnât stand. Staring at her fingers my imagination went wild. Thoughts of those digits pressing into me, pulling and using me for their pleasure.
Just shaking her hand was a summit to climb but I had to do it. She already thought I was odd being a recluse. I didnât want to add to it by being too afraid to touch her.
âOf course.â I slid my fingers across her palm. Her skin as smooth and warm as I remembered.
Maybe even softer than before. I wondered if I firmed my grip, would she give?
âThere, now was that so hard?â I noticed her eyes dip to where I was hard.
She knew. Aria wasnât stupid, she could tell I wanted her. That would mean one thing. She was going to try. Aria was going to give. Give me what she knew I wanted.

My desires arenât exactly normal.
But neither is she ⦠The girl I bought.
Sheâs innocent and blind.
Perfect for all my wicked needs.
Perfect to prove just how far Iâm willing to go.
But thereâs just one problem â¦
Iâm falling for her. Deep. Hard. Fast.
Even though Iâm the bad guy. The man who keeps her locked away.
Iâll do anything to make her stay.
One thingâs for sure ⦠She will be mine.
WARNING: This book contains very disturbing content that may be offensive to readers.
Excerpt
Her whispers are like a drug to me.
I canât stop listening, canât stop fucking zoning out completely as she grabs my leg with those sweet little hands.
Her lips are so close to mine I can almost taste them.
And I want to.
So fucking bad â¦
Iâm consumed with the thought of taking her, and for a second Iâm almost tempted to do just that.
Grab her by her waist, tear off her clothes, rip down my zipper, and ram my cock into her dripping wet pussy.
But I know itâs all lies.
All lies my mind spins to make me feel wanted.
To make me feel good.
Because Iâm not.
Iâm far from it, and she knows it.
When her fingers graze my dick, I grasp her wrist and stop her.
Sheâs not doing this because she wants me just as much.
Sheâs doing this because she wants out.
Iâm being used. And I donât like being used.
âDonât,â I hiss, pushing her away.
She cocks her head and her tongue dips out again to lip those sweet little lips that I just want to conquer. âTell me you donât want this.â
I narrow my eyes, unable to pull away even though I should.
Fuck.
Itâs so goddamn wrong.
Sheâs my prisoner. I shouldnât want her, and yet I do, and now she knows.
When I bought her, I never thought Iâd succumb to my desires so easily.
Maybe sheâs found my weak spot.
Or maybe Iâm really looking for salvation ⦠and sheâs the only one who can give it to me.
No. I canât allow it.
âNo,â I reply, lying through my teeth.
But I have to make a stand.
Have to stop this from happening before itâs too late.
âI donât believe you,â she says, inching closer again.
I immediately get off the couch, not giving a shit that my dick is rock hard because of her.
I wonât let her find out.

hese are the best marital prospects you can discover? In all of London?â
The Lady Eleanor Constance Russell, sole offspring of The Right Honorable Earl of Rutledge and The Right Honorable Countess of Rutledge slapped the sheet of paper sheâd been reading down on top of the mahogany desk and bestowed on her London barrister the look of a woman at her witâs end. Grief for her dying parents and a sense of utter desperation had driven her to actions she considered borderline insanity. If she accepted any of the names on this list, she might as well rent rooms in Bedlam. Eleanor fought the hysteria surging in her breast and tried for a more cajoling tone. âSurely you can come up with more worthy candidates?â
The barrister who had served her family for the last forty years sat immobile in his great chair, hunkered down behind his great desk, his hands steepled in front of his narrow-lipped mouth. âThis was no small task you set before me, Lady Russell. We are at war with France. Many of our most eligible men fill our army and navy.â
Her troubled gaze swung outward. Outside the windows of Elsington & Elsington, the London hansom cabs clopped past in the traffic-clogged street. Everyone had business to conduct it seemed. With a heavy sigh, she returned to the issue that had torn her away from the bedside of her failing but beloved parents and the celebrated stud farm into which sheâd poured twenty-plus years of her life.
Her eyes flicked to the sheet in front of her, and she jabbed at it with an index finger. âSir Clive Wellery. Fifty-six years of age, just interred his fourth wife, has no property of worth, eleven dependents ranging in age from two months to twenty-two years, known for a propensity to overindulge in spirits and gambling, currently renting a six-bedroom house in Bloomsbury.â She shuddered and whispered, âEleven children.â Her eyes rose and gazed at the gentleman across the desk from her then dropped back to the paper.
âLord Hilary Vance. Sixty-four years of age, of no property or spouse. No dependents, an unfortunate victim of the âChina disease.ââ She cleared her throat. âI understand there is no opium den he does not frequent.â
The barrister sat motionless in his chair and gave her a disapproving frown. She rolled her eyes. âI am thirty-years-old, sir. Iâm not an ignorant debutante.â
âI disapprove of your unorthodox education, Maâam. It did you a great disservice, and so I told your father.â
You old fusspot. Eleanor swallowed her retort and returned her gaze to the page on the desk. âAnd then there is Sir Aubrey Dedham⦠really, Mr. Elsington? Really? The fellow lives at the molly houses.â She frowned as her barrister stirred awkwardly in his high-backed chair. âDid you think I didnât know the meaning of the term? How am I supposed to persuade a sodomite into marriage with a woman when he is not inclined toward women in the first place?â She scowled. âThough perhaps my possessing no feminine attributes is a recommendation.â
âLady Russell, pleaseâ¦â
Eleanor held up a gloved hand. âStop. I know what you are going to say. £30,000 will make any man blind. And this last entry.â She sighed and relaxed her upright spine for one moment before resuming her erect posture and folding her hands in her lap. âThis last marital candidate.â She could feel the heat climb her neck into her cheeks at the thought of a man that elegant ever giving her a second look and if he did⦠sheâd probably turn and flee.
âThe Lord Miles Everleigh, twenty-five, the third of four sons, whose eldest brother is the new Duke of Chelsony. I understand Lord Miles lives on the charity of âfriendsâ in return for his convivial companionship and educated guidance on the purchase of fine bloodstock. What could induceâ¦â
She closed her eyes and fought back the tears that threatened. How had she come to this? Was she going to go through with an action that in her more rational moments caused her to lose the contents of her stomach? In short, yes. The alternative was even more appalling.
One thought of the manor house with its 100,000 acres of attached properties and villages all peopled with men and women who relied on her family for their livelihood... the thought of all this reverting to the Crown because of some quirk in the laws of primogeniture? Accompanying the loss would be the upheaval and complete displacement of the lovely Thoroughbred mares and stallions of impeccable breeding whose pedigrees she could recite to the nth generation and all their offspring, in short, the entire racing stud sheâd helped her father make so fabulously successful. Well, it was enough to make anyone cry.
Despite having three torturous seasons on the marriage mart ten years ago, no eligible manâthereâd been numerous made ineligible by virtue of being unacceptable to her parents or unacceptable to herâhad stepped forward with an offer to make her his wife. All the wealth and property she would bring with her was insufficient incentive to overcome her plain features, awkward deportment and utter lack of the slightest feminine attribute, so⦠sheâd have to buy a husbandâand soon. With no male heir, upon the death of her father, the estate, and all its entailed properties would be subject to the peregrinations of escheat.
âMr. Elsingtonâ¦please. What could possibly recommend me to Lord Miles Everleigh? Even rusticating as I have been, I hear the on-dits about the ever-so-handsome and sophisticated Lord Miles Everleigh. There will always be other options for a man like this, much better options than a gawky plank of an ape-leader with shriveled social skills who reeks of the stables and is his senior by five years.â
The man across from her cleared his throat. âMy ladyâ¦if I may be allowedâ¦â He looked over his pince-nez. âThe marriage agreement that you have required me to draw up demands a gentleman of a certain â¦â He shifted uncomfortably. âAhâ¦â
âLet me assist you. The word you want is desperation. It wants a gentleman who has reached a point of desperation. Well, Mr. Elsington, find more candidates. This week. Iâm running out of time.â
âErr, yes, Lady Russell. Quite.â His eyes softened. âHow is your father, my lady?â
Eleanor dropped her eyes and fought for composure until she was sure she could speak without succumbing to tears. âThe physicians tell me, âat most a few monthsâ. He could go at any time.â
âMy sincere regrets, maâam. Lord Rutledge is a fine gentleman.â
With a murmur of thanks, she inhaled and rose to her full height. Mr. Elsington was not a short man, but as he stood to escort her out, she topped him by a full head, reminding her yet again of her abysmal lack of any physical feature possessed by an even a moderately desirable woman. She hardened her jaw as she marched out of the law offices to her waiting carriage. There was no point in dwelling on a source of immense hurt that her adoring parents and formidable fortune hadnât protected her from, nor the reasons for her present desperate action. She decided on the instant to go to the one place in all of London where sheâd always felt at home regardless of the strictures of polite society and Richard Tattersalâs distinct lack of welcome for those of her sex.
âTake me to Tattersalls, John. They have advertised some young breeding stock I want to inspect. We need some outside lines to cross on Dare To Dream.â
âYes, your ladyship.â With a tip of his beaver brim, he helped her into the carriage and climbed onto the box. At John Coachmanâs instruction, the groom stepped away from the leaders, sprang to the back of the carriage and the team of beautifully matched bays stepped smartly away.

4 Star Review by Ashley:
Holy wow was this duet from Tia Louise intense. My hands are still shaking after finishing Under the Stars. That was after I caught my breath from the jaw-dropping end to Under the Lights (which you totally have to read first). If I thought that one was rough and raw I don't even know what word to use here.
It was thrilling and gritty. Full of hope and doubt. Bursting with fear and love. I liked the (mini spoiler alert) time gap between the first two books. It proved just how much time and life couldn't dull Lara's love of Mark. Nor his for her. But they sure didn't make it easy on themselves.
I loved Mark's dedication and relentless pursuit of Lara, and the truth. But that truth dug up a lot of old skeletons and some unexpected allies. And holy heart pounding, buggy eyed, unexpected twist of all twists. My jaw was on the floor. That being said, if things had gone down any other way, the story just wouldn't have worked.
Hats off to Tia Louise for writing something that was utterly captivating. This duet was completely unexpected and wrapped up in glistening lights. Lara and Mark's journey was far from easy. It was painful but so worth the struggle and fight. It was pretty great seeing what started in the dark shine so bright in the light. Because love is never wrong. Oh, and that little teaser at the end...I'm so ready for it! Holy wow was this duet from Tia Louise intense. My hands are still shaking after finishing Under the Stars. Title: Rock King (Nothing But Trouble, Book 1)
Author: Tara Leigh
Genre: Contemporary Romance / Rockstar Romance
Release Date: February 20, 2018
Cover Designer: Forever Romance Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

Fans of Kristen Callihan and Kylie Scott will scream for this sizzling bad boy rock star romance!
I'm not who you think I am.
Shane Hawthorne has it all. At least, that's what the headlines say about me. I have millions of fans, awards, more money - and women - than I know what to do with. But what you don't see is the wreckage I've caused. The memories and pain I can't escape, even when I pour them into music and spin them into gold.
I tried to forget. To lose myself in booze and groupies. It didn't work. It hurt me and - worse - it hurt my band. That's the last thing I want to do, so I'm cleaning up my act... starting with Delaney Fraser.
Gorgeous, smart, drama-free, and even nice - Delaney is the perfect "girlfriend." When I'm with her I don't have to pretend. It's like she sees the real me. And I can see a future with her. But that's dangerous. Because the truth is, Shane Hawthorne doesn't actually exist. He's a shield to hide who I really am. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer.
And it's impossible to love a lie, right?
The Nothing but Trouble series: Rock King Rock Legend Rock Rebel

Maybe tonight I would meet my next girlfriend. Someone contractually obligated to be by my side at every show and party, every press junket and photo op. Someone with me day and night, pretty enough I wouldn’t mind the view. Someone with a fun-loving personality, who knew better than to actually fall in love with me. I’ve done a lot of stupid things in my life, but that was a line I had yet to cross. A line so far in the distance it wasn’t even a smudge on the horizon. And I wasn’t heading it its direction anytime soon. Preferably never. Love was the one luxury I couldn’t afford. Assuming I felt a spark of connection with one of the women at Travis’s house tonight, he would lock her into a nondisclosure so tight the press would never find out that she was just an employee, a prop. That our relationship was fake. What she wouldn’t know, what no one except Travis knew, was that we would have something in common. Because everything about me is fake. Shane Hawthorne, resident King of Rock n’ Roll and the cause of dripping panties everywhere, from shrieking tweens to bored housewives, is a sham. More myth than man. Shane Hawthorne doesn’t exist. He’s the stage name I used for the first time at sixteen, expecting to be hauled off by a pair of cops if I so much as breathed my real name. Sometimes I’ve wondered what my fans would think if they knew the truth. Would I still be hailed as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive if anyone knew who I really was? Who am I? I don’t even know anymore. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer. Not so sexy now, am I?

Tara Leigh attended Washington University in St. Louis and Columbia Business School in New York, and worked on Wall Street and Main Street before “retiring” to become a wife and mother. When the people in her head became just as real as the people in her life, she decided to put their stories on paper. Tara currently lives in Fairfield County, Connecticut with her husband, children and fur-baby, Pixie.
