Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at sixteen, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn’t even get a year.
Five years later, I’m a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He’s a star on the rise; his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We’re older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we had been as teenagers. My medium is words and my imagination is limitless, but not even I could have written the incredible journey we traveled to reach our happily-ever-after. Life isn’t like fiction, and the greatest love stories don’t follow a script. ??????

Dear Isaiah, Eight months ago, you were just a soldier about to be deployed and I was just a waitress, sneaking you free pancakes and hoping you wouldn’t notice that my gaze was lingering a little too long. But you did notice. We spent a “week of Saturdays” together before you left, and we said goodbye on day eight, exchanging addresses at the last minute. I saved every letter you ever sent, your words quickly becoming my religion. But you went radio silent on me months ago, and then you had the audacity to walk into my diner yesterday and act like you’d never seen me in your life. To think … I almost loved you and your beautifully complicated soul. Almost. Whatever your reason is—I hope it’s a good one. Maritza the Waitress PS – I hate you, and this time … I mean it. There’s no denying something’s there, something that makes my heart trot when he looks at me, something that makes me slick on an extra coat of lip balm or an extra spritz of perfume before dashing out the door to meet him. And while I’m the one who made the rules—no romance and only honesty at all times—I’m the one who can’t stop thinking about what would happen if we broke one of them. Only problem is, I have zero idea if he’s thinking what I’m thinking. He’s so even-keeled and emotionally guarded, but they say actions speak louder than words and the fact that he’s here, spending time with me doing stupid shit has to count for something … right? “Why are you staring like that?” Isaiah asks when he turns around. My cheeks warm. I’d been spacing off. “No reason.” “Bullshit. You can’t lie, remember? Tell me what you were thinking about.” His lips draw into a playful smirk, and I can’t decide if I like his mysterious side or his spirited side best. It’s like trying to choose between white chocolate and milk chocolate, which are both delicious in their own ways. “You don’t want to know.” And I’m serious. He doesn’t want to know that I’m thinking about him in a way that I was determined not to. Besides, he’s leaving in a few days. There’s no point in ruining the rest of our time together by making this situation unnecessarily complicated. “Try me,” he says, his stare boring into me. Something tells me he’s not going to let this go. Giving myself a moment, I gather my thoughts and nibble on my lower lip. “I was just thinking about connections.” “Connections?” His hands rest on his hips, his shoulders parallel with mine. I have his full, undivided attention. “I was just thinking about how I hardly know you, but I feel connected to you,” I say, cringing on the inside but fully embracing the discomfiture of this conversation. He says nothing, which doesn’t make this moment any less awkward for the both of us. “You asked!” I remind him, throwing my hands up. Another moment passes, the two of us lingering next to some hairy elephant-looking creature with a long-as-hell scientific name as a group of children runs past us. “Now I want to know what you’re thinking about.” I nudge his arm. “It’s only fair.” He smirks, then it fades, and he gazes into the distance. It’s like there’s something on the tip of his tongue, but if I push or prod too much, he’ll never share it. “Nothing, Maritza. I was thinking about nothing.” I don’t buy it, but I don’t press any further. I want to burn this awkward moment into a pile of ash and move on. “Are you going to remember me after this week?” I ask after a bout of silence. His golden irises glint as his eyes narrow in my direction. “What kind of question is that?” “A legit one,” I say. “Will you remember me? Or am I always just going to be that waitress girl that you hung out with for a week?” “Don’t think I could forget you if I tried.” He speaks in such a way that I’m not sure if what he’s saying is a good thing or a bad thing. “Can I be honest right now?” “You must. It’s a requirement.” Isaiah’s tongue grazes his full lips for a quick second and he holds my gaze for what feels like forever. “I don’t want to make this any more confusing for either of us, but I feel like kissing you right now.” I fight a smile. I don’t want to smile. I want to scoff at him and tell him to stop being such a hypocrite. But that’s only half of me. The other half of me wants him to kiss me, wants his hands in my hair and his taste on my tongue just one more time because we’ll never have this moment again and once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. When a real princess falls in love with a man who is definitely not a prince, a royal fairy tale turns dangerous.
ONCE UPON A TIME, there was a beautiful princess, Flicka von Hannover, who lived an enchanted life. She jetted around Europe staging charity events with friends, had married a handsome prince in the most spectacular royal wedding of the 21st century, and should have lived happily ever after.
But then she found the handsome prince in bed with a duchess. And then a coffee shop barista. And then her own goddamn secretary.
Finally, the beautiful princess had had enough of the cheating prince, and she ran away.
Once she had stepped out of the royal fairy tale, life became grayer, grittier, and rougher. The prince didnât like that she had left and sent henchmen to take her back to the castle. Her worried royal brother sent people to look for her, too.
But the princess didnât want to be found. The princess got a job and made her own way in the world. Even cut off from everyone she knew, she was more resourceful than she had thought she might be. She did okay. From hiding, she sent legal separation papers and then divorce documents, but the prince wouldnât sign them. He said he wouldnât let her go. Even in these modern times, the prince could lock the princess up in a dungeon of legal forms and provisions that she wouldnât be able to break out of. The prince wanted his princess back because he couldnât take his throne without her.
Until a man walked into her bar one day, one who was frankly not a handsome prince.
He was the last man on Earth the princess should have fallen in love with.

Blair Babylon is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, suspenseful romance.

Albert Walsh the Third has spent over a decade running away from his past. With no job and nothing to lose, he goes on a spontaneous drive to visit his sister in the mountains of Colorado. The simple trip proves to be more than he bargained for.
Samantha Belmont is floating through life. She’s cast her dreams aside and now works on her papa’s ranch. One night, Sam is driving home in a snow storm after a hookup when she spots a car in a ditch and saves a man’s life. She doesn’t expect to develop feelings for the hot as hell stranger. Everything about him is wrong from his pointy shoes and fancy car to his age. Pushing him away would be the smart move. Only Al can’t be pushed around anymore. Maybe it’s because she saved his life or maybe it’s because this cowgirl is completely different from every other woman he’s been with. Problem is Sam has secrets of her own. Secrets she doesn’t want Al to find out because if he did he’d run in the other direction. She pushes him away even though he melts her panties right off—literally. There is more than just her heart that needs protection. Al won’t give up fighting for the feisty cowgirl’s attention. Tempers will flare and hearts will be broken. And Sam’s plans to never settle down will be torched like the inferno of passion raging between them. I’m getting my ingredients ready to fry up some eggs when there’s a loud rasp at the door. One of my best friends, Kelly, has her nose pressed to the glass window. Her nose looks bright red kind of like Rudolph. Snow blows in circles all around her. I rush to open the door. “Kell, what on earth are you doing out of your house in this weather?” I chide. Kelly married her high school sweetheart, Gage, straight out of high school and works at the local supermarket. They have an eighteen month old son, Theo. Kelly is my age. It seems everyone in this town marries young and has kids young. I’m the exception. “I heard you found a strange man out on the highway last night and brought him home,” she says holding a pan of something in her hands. She places it on the kitchen table and rubs her hands together. “Heard he drives a nice car too.” She looks to me expectantly. It takes a lot of self-control not to roll my eyes at her and half the girls in this town, even though I love them all. Everyone is always looking for a way out of Holston; the population is minute, which means the economy sucks. If you’re not exporting out of state, you’re not surviving so well. Our ranch has always fared well, but with the lack of rain these last number of years, we’re struggling too. It’s hard enough to feed ourselves let alone a bunch of cows. “He was passed out in his car, Kell.” I huff. “I couldn’t very well leave him out there to die.” “Is he hot?” She looks at me wide eyed and a little too excited. My head moves from side to side as I ask myself if Al is hot. Hot would be an understatement. His body is rock solid and gorgeous, and he has the face of a model. Not a skinny fashion model either, but that rugged kind of model that cologne commercials like to use. Al was all man that was for sure. “Fucking gorgeous.” My cheeks turn hot at the thought of him. Kell claps her hands together, all excited. “I brought warm apple pie. I hope he likes apple pie,” she says as if apple pie is the solution to me having a hotter than hell man passed out in my bed. “Let me remind you that you are a married woman.” I smirk, just playing with her. She and Gage are tight. She’s been trying to play matchmaker for me since at twenty-three I’m the equivalent to old maid around here. I return to beating my eggs in the bowl before plopping them into a fry pan. “You don’t need to remind me. You know I got you in mind. What does he look like?” she waits expectantly. “Keep it down,” I hush her. “He looks like a movie star, thick muscles, gorgeous face, eyes that burn your skin when he looks at you,” I say, frying my eggs. When I turn to Kell, she looks flushed. “Holy shit.” She waves a hand in front of her face. “You hungry?” I ask her. “Hungry?” she repeats in a daze. “Kell?” I call to snap her out of her daze. “Huh? Tell me more,” she insists, not answering my question. “I think he has a massive cock,” I add, and she melts into the chair at the kitchen table. “Why can’t that shit happen to me?” she says, waving a hand in her face like she’s fanning herself. “Kell,” I chide. “How do you know he has a large cock?” I walk toward her and whisper that I caught a glance at his morning erection when I was standing in the corner of the room. “And you weren’t scared of him?” she asks. I nod my head. “Trust me, if you see him, your first reaction won’t be fear.” R.C. Stephens was born in Toronto, Canada. Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin).
"Elizabeth" lives with her husband, daughter, and nutjob of a dog. "Hayley" lives with her husband, son, and her own crazy dog. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.
Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind."
Marriage of Inconvenience, an all new romantic comedy standalone in the USA Today bestselling, Knitting in the City Series by Penny Reid, is available NOW!
There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit. Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy. Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece. Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought? Excerpt: Staring at his chin, because I couldn’t quite lift my eyes any higher, I cleared my throat. “Should we get ready for bed?”“Sure,” he said, his voice a rumble. Dan’s eyes were on me, I felt the weight of them. My hands came to the hem of my skirt and I hesitated, feeling winded for some reason. Sneaking a glance at him, I immediately wished I hadn’t. His gaze was watchful, but it was also unmistakably hot in a way that seemed at once both avaricious and accusatory. The vice tightened around my lungs. Kiss him! Just freaking kiss him! You want numbered steps? Fine. You kiss him- check. He kisses you back- check. Then you make out- check. Check the boxes. I licked my lips, balling my hands into fists at my sides again, preparing to follow my hasty list. But then he said, “Undress me.” My breath caught. On instinct, my eyes lifted and collided with his in much the same way our bodies had collided at the top of the stairs just moments ago. Jarring. Startling. Thrilling. This time I couldn’t look away because this time I was falling. He made no move to catch me. “What? What did you say?” His eyes narrowed, which served only to increase the intensity of his gaze from smolder to inferno. “Take my clothes off.” I stared at him, licking my lips again, and shaking my head. That wasn’t one of my steps. Lifting my chin, I moved to kiss him. He leaned to the side, evading me even as his eyes dropped to my mouth. “Take off my shirt and I’ll give you a kiss.” He’d used his naughty-secret voice. An explosion of heat erupted in my belly, and now I was hot all over. I couldn’t figure out if the heat was embarrassment or arousal or both. He didn’t give me a chance to figure it out. His hands lifted and he undid his cuffs; then they moved to the top button of his shirt. “You better take over,” he said darkly, “or else you’re not getting that kiss.”
