The Setup, an all new contemporary romance by #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken, is LIVE! The first day she was sitting by herself — I felt sorry for her. After all, it couldn't be easy wrangling all the testosterone at Wingman Inc as one of the only female office managers. The second day she literally counted her carrots during break — she had seven by the way, right along with seven sips of her drink in between taking seven tiny little bites of the first carrot. Now I'm not one to brag, or maybe I am, but math and science fascinate me, so do problems. And this woman screamed puzzle from the way she ducked her head every time anyone looked at her, to the way she counted food and tapped the table when she didn't think anyone was watching. I'd like to think I took pity on her that day when, in fact, she was the one that took pity on me and asked if I needed a friend. She assumed I had a learning disability since I'd been staring so damn hard. Things would have ended there, except, my bosses need someone to test the new Wingman App and since I was the only single guy on the floor — I was nominated, right along with the only single woman, the same one who thinks I need to use my fingers to count. Apparently rumors of my sexcapades throughout college reached even her ears, because she wants nothing to do with me, which makes beta testing a bitch. I have thirty days to win her over and prove myself to my bosses. One thing's for certain, I'm going to have to buy a hell of a lot of carrots. To indulge in all we’d been holding back.
We couldn't have possibly known it would change everything.

I’ll sacrifice everything for him to live out his dream in the NBA. But when he finds out the truth, will he hate me for it?
Mazric
“I am an idiot.” Her body falls lax and her head snuggles into the cup of my palm. “This, tonight was never friendship because you’ve been more from the start. Yes, you drove me crazy, and I hated how I couldn’t wait to spend my days with a yucky girl. I’ve tried to put you in so many boxes because losing you is not an option. You’re superior to me in all things, including knowing how you felt, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t feel it.” I raise her hand, laying it where my heart pounds. “There’s this special place right here, and it’s labeled Sammy Lee. Tonight belonged to you, whether it was at this stupid dance or sitting in my room in pajamas. I admit I pitied you for a minute a million years ago, but then you became so precious; I not only need to protect you but want you all for myself.” “Mazric.” My name whispers like a prayer and her eyes turn to moss as wetness builds on her lower lids. My finger trails her jawbone, my thumb settling on the pad of her bottom lip. “Your first kiss? Was Hendrix so horrible you’ve forgotten making out with him in eighth grade at Asia’s party?” Her lips pull tight and her brow form an unhappy, confused scrunch before her eyes spring open wide. “I figured you would’ve put it all together when Asia came to school complaining. Hendrix held my hair while I puked in all the pretty shoes in the closet. There was no kissing, touching, or anything else just a lot of spiked punch purging.”
Billie Dale lives in no-where middle earth. Lost in a small village in the Midwest with four kids, three animals and an amazing, word inspiring book boyfriend worthy husband.
A blogger by nature and a writer because she got tired of arguing with the voices in her head. She loves and lives the words on the page, whether writing them or reading them her life is consumed by the worlds her head creates.

JUST ONE YEAR (A standalone) Release date: 2/24/2020
A Contemporary Romance Novel New York Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Penelope Ward
SYNOPSIS The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start. On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude. (In the men’s room. Don’t ask.) I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat. So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb—the British guy from the men’s room.
And so it began…my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?
The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons. Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain. He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me. That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was. So frustrating. And… Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet. And hot.
He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year. Too bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us—for so many reasons. I definitely couldn't fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year. 4 Heart Review by Ashley
Holy hot hot hot!! The Doctor Will See You was a deliciously dirty little read that had flames shooing from my kindle from chapter one. That's not to say Lana Brazen went all in with the sex and no feelings because those were there too.
Excerpt
I didnât know what Iâd gotten myself into. Recently divorced, Iâd met a young woman who just listened to me rant. I didnât know why I felt the need to expound my current sexual status on her, but the dating apps had frustrated me. Who could you trust on there? Singles adventure clubs? The annual fees were high, and only half the activities interested me. And then there were the simple singles bars, which I entered once before turning right back around and leaving.
Being unmarried sucked in this aspect. The issue was I still wanted sex. I didnât want to be alone with only my fingers. I wanted the feel of a manâthe wet of his tongue, the curl of his fingers, and the strength of his hands on meâand I was getting desperate.
âHave you ever considered swinging?â she suggested, and I nearly fell off my chair. A southern Florida coffee shop seemed like the last place to have this kind of discussion and with a stranger, no less, but she didnât look like a social deviant. In fact, she looked normal. Average in height, dark brunette hair, the body of someone still youthful, with friendly eyes, and a wedding band.
âNever thought of it,â I said after choking on my tea.
She paused for a moment as if she were assessing me and then added, âNot everyone who swings is married. Some are in relationships, and some are single. People participate in all manner of combinations. Couples who want a third party or a single participant looking for a couple who shares. Sometimes, itâs just a mutual agreement between three, but the term comes more so from those looking to experiment within a relationship.â
I stare down at my paper placemat, uncertain how to respond. It sounded crazy and a bit obscene, but I wasnât one to judge. I was jealous, in a way. Maybe if Stan and I had experimented more or been a bit more adventurous, things wouldnât have gotten to the point where they ended. Especially with him in the bed of his secretary.
âHereâs my name,â she said, offering it on a paper napkin along with a phone number. âIf you have any questions. Otherwise, Iâd recommend contacting this number. Heâs a doctor.â She winked after handing me the napkin, and I took it, smiling good-naturedly even though I knew Iâd never call.
However, the numbers haunted me, and a week later, when I was cleaning out the old receipts in my purse, the napkin remained intact with her perfect script and two phone numbers, the second marked with an asterisk.
âDr. Lubtonâs office,â a masculine voice answers on the second ring, and the professional confidence in his voice surprises me.
âIâ¦Iâm looking for the doctor.â I swallow back the sudden stutter. âJessica DeMarco suggested I call.â
A heavy pause of silence weighs through the phone for a second, and I wonder if Iâve lost the connection. âHello?â
âWere you looking for a full exam?â he questions, and I remember Jessica mentioning to request such a thing. I nod, and then recall he canât see me.
âYes.â
âAnd will your husband be joining you?â I blink down at the napkin, pinched between my fingers.
âI donât have a husband.â Silence falls again, and after another weighted second, I ask, âDo I need one?â
A soft chuckle fills the line, reassuring instead of mocking. âNo.â Pause. âBut may I ask if this will be your first exam of this sort?â
Closing my eyes, I think, What am I doing? Iâm no longer certain, and not certain how to answer, so I go with the truth. âYes.â
âI see, and for the purposes of an initial consultation, would you prefer an assistant be in the room?â
Did I want someone else present? A witness to my humiliation? Again, I wasnât certain what exactly I was getting myself into, any more than I knew how to answer the question. Deciding that embarrassing myself in my lack of knowledge should best be done alone, I reply, âI think Iâll be okay without one.â
âVery well.â There wasnât a hint of a smile or frown in his tone, but the continued smoothness of a true doctor. Good bedside manner. I want to laugh out loud at the pun. Instead, I wait for his instructions on how to proceed.
âI have an eleven oâclock on Thursday open.â Itâs strange to consider he does this more than one time a day with more than one person, possibly more than one person at a time, and I realize Iâm at great risk of making a fool of myself. Not to mention, can I muster my libido midmorning on a weekday? Remain open-minded, I remind myself. He called it a consultation. Maybe he really is a doctor. Maybe we only discuss options. Maybe he can explain whatâs happening to me at forty-five as a single woman, previously married, and desperately seeking pleasure.
âThursday would be fine,â I say, knowing my calendar is flexible. Iâm a real estate agent. The southern Florida market ebbs and flows based on weather predictions and the hurricane season. Iâm mildly successful but wish I was doing better. Older people are a key to my accomplishments, and I fear one day Iâll be classified as one of them. Old.
âPlease dress comfortably and be prepared to sign a consent form.â The instructions surprise me, and once again, I nod. âI look forward to meeting you.â
Author Bio
Lana Brazen is the alter ego of a bestselling contemporary romance author who believes romance doesnât need to end just because you crossed over forty. In a fantasy life, she was an anthropologist, a journalist and a world-famous novelist on the level of F. Scott Fitzgerald. None of that has happened. Instead, sheâs written over twenty romances, mothered four children and remains with the one and only. Sometimes, she likes things a little hotter, spicier, raunchier than contemporary trysts, and so begins this chapter.

Posey Adler is coming home. After a devastating journey for what she mistakenly thought was true love, she is saying to hell with men and love forever. As the Nashville Assassins’s new assistant coach for special teams, Posey is ready to focus on her job and have the attention on her for a change. She’s been haunted by her place in her sister’s shadow, but this is her chance to shine and force her family to take notice. But in order to make a name for herself, she’s going to have to go toe-to-toe with her team’s leading power play scorer. Boon Hoenes lives for special teams. The power play is his favorite thing about the game. He loves having that advantage over his opponent. And most of the time, it’s his quick thinking that sends the puck to the back of the goal when he’s on the ice. Off the ice, however, no amount of quick thinking prepared his heart for being dumped by his college sweetheart. Boon has sworn off women, but when Posey Adler comes onto his ice—and kicks him off his beloved power play—he decides she’s one woman he doesn’t want to swear off. They’ve both been hurt, but instead of going in for the penalty kill, Boon is ready to convince Posey their hearts are the secret to how they’ll win. How they’ll score the ultimate goal. A forever kind of love.

I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play! I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle. … and did I mention I love hockey?

Exclusive Excerpt:I tilted my head, bringing our faces closer. Gemma was the full package. Choir girl and sex bomb, a lethal combination of heaven and hell. Being around her, you couldn’t help but want to be sinner and saint, only so you could be closer to her. “Savio…” Gemma said in warning, bringing her palms up against my chest. I got that she didn’t want to have sex before our wedding night, but why deprive herself of all the other fun things I could show her? “Is a kiss really so bad? Your mouth is so fucking kissable.” “Well, your mouth is coming around too much for my taste. You’ve probably kissed more lady parts than most toilet seats.” My arms gave in from the force of my laughter. Fuck, Gemma was one of a kind. Resting my forehead against the wall, my body pressed into Gemma. “Lady parts?” I repeated between chuckles as I tilted my head down. Gemma raised her head. We were so fucking close, her lips were begging for me to bridge the few inches between us. “How about you call them what everyone does? Pussy.” Her cheeks turned red. “I’m not going to take that word into my mouth.” She pushed harder against my chest, but I didn’t budge. “I’d love to have your pussy in my mouth,” I growled, and doing my usual routine without even thinking about it, I ground myself against the woman in front of me to show her what she was doing to me. Gemma tensed, her eyes widening in shock. She jerked her knee up and hit my balls. Pain shot through my body and I groaned. She quickly slipped out under my arm and stormed away. “That’s called Bull’s eye!” Fuck. Anger surged through me. I chased her despite the fucking throbbing in my balls, and I grabbed her wrist. She whirled on me. “Don’t do that ever again,” I growled. She narrowed her eyes. “How about this then?” She swung her fist at me, aiming straight for my nose. My arm shot up, blocking her assault. I’d been fighting in the cage for years now against guys weighing twice as much as Gemma. She was a good fighter for a small girl, but that was it. I gripped her other wrist and jerked her against me, holding her fast. Her hair had come undone from her ponytail and framed her face in wild curls. “Apologize,” she seethed. My eyebrows shot up. “I’m not the one who smashed his knee into your lady parts.” “Apologize for disrespecting me.” I regarded her. She was dead serious. “If anyone else treated me the way you just did…” “I’d cut his dick off and let him bleed out,” I finished.

Get book 1, At Close Range, for only 99¢! -- EXCERPT: Cavanagh Wraggs. Back in eighth grade, the name was usually whispered in the girls’ bathroom, accompanied by giggles and blushes. If only her old school friends could see him now… Arielle threw him another look under guise of tying off a trash bag. Not only was the man huge but bulked out with muscle. His size and strength gave the impression he worked outdoors or in construction. Whatever he did… he sure did it for every woman and even a few of the teen girls here in the park today. Her own body was feeling a little out of touch with the sensations coursing through it. Darren had been dead for two years now, and she’d been far from ready for sex. But Cav made her think about breaking that dry spell. Immediately. She cut a look toward a grouping of bushes not far away. They’d be shielded enough there, right? She bit down on her lip, almost laughing out loud at herself. These thoughts weren’t anything she’d entertained over the past couple years of her grief. But she was alive… and lonely, if she was truthful. Plus, she’d always had a small crush on Cav and seeing him again had caused all those breathless moments she’d once felt at simply passing him in the hallway to resurface. A nudge against her shoulder had her snapping out of her reverie. She looked up into Sarah’s blue eyes. “All right, girl, spill it. I need to know all about that hunky guy on the ladder.” Both of them turned their eyes toward the gazebo as Cav planted a foot on the rungs and began to climb down. His jeans pulled across his muscled thighs, and Arielle suddenly wished she was standing behind him to get a different view. But this was good too, especially when she spotted the veins snaking over his bulging forearms as he gripped the ladder. Sarah issued a soft puff of air like she’d just been punched. “He’s quite…” She nodded. “Yes, quite.” Her mouth was dry. If women got catcalls on the streets, surely there must be a female version of that. “He’s all man, isn’t he?” Sarah sounded dazed. She felt just as stunned when Cav turned from the ladder, and with what seemed like a flick of his wrist, pulled the heavy metal contraption away from the roof, flipped it and stuck it over one shoulder.
