Fake it ‘til you make it has been the motto I live by since my mother died.
I’m also doing a really bad job at the making it part.
The night we met, I was at my lowest.
But you gave me a reason to feel happy again.
For the first time in over a year, I feel optimistic.
You and I? We’re the same.
Don’t form attachments. Follow the rules. Don’t dream of a future.
Too bad our hearts wouldn’t listen.
And this storm we’re going through?
The one that threatens to rip us apart?
It doesn’t care that I’m falling for you.

Falling For You is a different kind of brother’s best friend romance and is as emotional as it is sizzling.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

Sweet. Cute. Sassy. Full of heart. Those are the first things that pop into my mind when I think about Falling For You. And of course Rex & Chloe!

Chloe was a firecracker. Not afraid to go for the joke to lighten the mood. But also willing to show her emotions, which she wore on her sleeve. And when she first met Rex, it couldn't have been on a worse day. But not to worry, Rex with his charm and glasses and kindness gets her calmed down and laughing again. I could feel the chemistry bubbling between them and was just waiting for the moment they would give into what they were both feeling. And when they finally gave in, it was well worth the wait. Steammmmmmmy!

But it was the meeting with Ethan that I had been waiting for (if you read the first book in the series, you'll know all about Ethan and how big of a deal this is). I wasn't expecting to be smacked in the feels so hard but it got to me. Maybe it was the way they were both so riddled with guilt and hope. Maybe it was the way Rex stepped up for Chloe. Whatever the reason, it was just the thing that everyone needed to really move forward. That's not to say that Rex didn't have his share of family to deal with and his was no picnic.

Full of laughter, friendships, heat, family and love, Falling For You was a true delight to read. Jennifer Van Wyk has found her stride writing this small-town romance that is big on the feels.

About the Author

Picture
From the Ground Up was Jennifer’s first published novel and now that she was bitten by the writing bug, has no intention of ever stopping. Jennifer makes her home in small town Iowa with her high school sweetheart, three beautiful, hilarious and amazing kids, one crazy Jack Russell terrier. This is where her love for all things reading, baking, and cooking happen. Jennifer’s family enjoys camping, boating, and spending time outside as much as possible. You'll be her best friend if you can make her laugh and follow up with asking her what to read next. When she’s not writing, you can find her cheering the loudest at her kids’ sporting events (read as: embarrassing them), sipping coffee or iced tea out of a mason jar with her Kindle in her lap or binging on Netflix.
