What started out as a deal quickly became a friendship that conquered monsters.
I killed, but I escaped hell.
Emotionless. Disconnected. Cold. A mannequin. It’s what I’d become in order to survive the years held in captivity. I was able to endure the abuse and devastating loss as long as I remained detached.
But he wouldn't let me.
Crisis, the bass guitarist in my brother’s rock band, Tear Asunder. He’s cocky, rude, a total man-whore. But the rock star has far more beneath the surface of his inked skin, and he’s determined to make me laugh again.
He made me a "deal", but really, it was blackmail.
His terms were simple. Until his playful honesty became the building blocks to something unexpected. Something strong enough to pull me from the eye of the storm.
Because even though I escaped years of abuse, it didn’t mean I was free.
For mature audiences only.
Shattered by You is written as a standalone, however, it is recommended you read the Tear Asunder books in order.

Review by Amanda
Shattered by You is book number 3 in Nashoda Rose’s incredibly gripping Tear Asunder Series. This book is the story of Haven and Crisis. Although each book can be read as a standalone, there are spoilers revealed from previous books in this one. I would definitely recommend reading the other two first – and I can guarantee you that after book 1 in this series you will be indelibly hooked. These books are unlike anything you have ever read – they are dark, full of depravity yet somehow Nashoda Rose brings them into the light with the healing power of love.
Haven has lived a life no one can imagine, she was used and abused by men in a depraved sex slave environment. She is now thrust into normality and trying to cope is wearing her down. She hides her struggles and strains from her twin brother, Ream and puts on a brave face so that no one can see the pain she endures on a daily basis.
Although, she has her act down to a fine art, there is one person that can see through her, Crisis. He is the balm to her pain and suffering. He sees her dysfunction and calls her on it. Through daily interacting via text messages and phone calls, he builds up her trust and a tentative friendship is formed. Haven doesn’t want to allow anyone close to her as she doesn’t want the pain of her past being inflicted on anyone else. Crisis pushes through the barriers to solidify their friendship and force her to show her brokenness.
Will the friendship between these two be exactly what Haven needs to rebuild her broken life or will she be shattered by Crisis.
Crisis is the playboy in the band and he is the biggest flirt and manwhore, but I think underneath it all as you get to know him, this isn't all he truly is. We are given glimpses into the man that is Crisis, and it will leave you beyond breathless. He is an incredible character that has been intricately woven and is impossible not to love. I love how he is humanised in this book. We get to see his gentleness, his kindness and his ability to love. That is not to say that he has completely changed his ways. He is still the rogue and heartbreaker we have come to know and love. I fell completely in love with his bad boy ways and his ability to change them when something or rather someone worthwhile crossed his path.
The character of Haven is devastatingly written. How could you not cry and bleed for everything that she had endured in her short life. I get goosebumps just thinking about the torment and torture that she has been through. I loved how strong she is despite the pain. I also really was in awe of how she managed to hide things so well from those that cared about her – she is truly a character that you couldn’t help but fall in love with. There is strength in her fragility and her ability to conceal and control her emotions is incredible. I love the way that Nashoda Rose writes these characters – she brings such warmth and depth to them, and you develop a kinship for them that is almost beyond words.
This book is really a dark, emotional, heart-breaking read. There are times when you think to yourself “Please Nashoda, no more” but the journey that you are taken on is life changing. Nashoda Rose weaves a web around you that sucks you into this book so incredibly that it almost feels that these events are happening right around you.
We are also shown again snippets of the other Tear Asunder characters that we have fallen in love with, and it is definitely the light hearted moments that this book needs.
I am addicted to Nashoda Rose and everything she writes. I am enamoured with her and her writing skill. She is a magician of words and this book is no exception. Shattered by You gets 5 SCINTILLATING stars from me, and I look forward to the next instalment of this amazing series, in fact, I have started my countdown already.
