5 Heart Review by Ashley
It is official...Kennedy Ryan can do no wrong. The way she combines cultures and customs with life and love is unparalleled. I was consumed with Queen Move from the opening scene.
Kimba and Ezra's journey may have started when they met as babies but it took a lifetime. I loved watching them grow. From childhood best friends. To the sweet innocence of experiencing 'feelings' for the first time. To reconnecting as adults.
Legacy. Prestige. Heritage. Tradition. Secrets. Doing whats right, not whats easy. Those are the driving forces behind everything both Ezra and Kimba do. Even at the detriment of their own happiness. Time and circumstance never seemed to be on their side and the longing made my chest ache.
I can't adequately put into words how deeply Kennedy Ryan moved me with this book. Queen Move was unique and thought-provoking. There was angst and want. Secrets and challenges. And a timeless love that wouldn't be denied. The road Kimba and Ezra take to finding love with one another, while messy was beautifully charted. And that ending was pure perfection.
5 Heart Review by Lorena
I have no words for this book, NONE! Other than the fact that I'm left speechless. Ms. Ryan knows how to write one heck of a book that is jam packed with angst, drama, and love.
We get Kimba and Ezra who pretty much have been destined for each other all their lives. They have known each other since they were in diapers and once they have reached puberty then find out that they have stronger feelings for each other that go beyond the best friends kind. When something happens between the parents, Kimba and Ezra end up splitting up when they were just discovering their feelings for each other. They lost contact and were unable to reach other until they both gave up and moved on. They each have a successful career and have their own lives to live. Ezra has a son and a girlfriend he's been with for 10 years while Kimba is dedicated to just her career at the moment.
Now 20 years later and they run into each other again. They both feel that strong bond, they still have that strong connection that never dwindled between them. It may have gone dormant but it never left. They will have challenges and heartbreak full of tears but I'm sure that the outcome has to be in favor of Kimba and Ezra right!
With some fight these two will work hard and trying to make their love work one way or another regardless of the hardships and challenges that are thrown their way.
Kimba and Ezra had a one of a kind love that no matter the distance they were destined to be together. Their love was pure and beautiful.
Ms. Kennedy Ryan has written another book full of challenges that will have you gripping your heart and rooting for Kimba and Ezra throughout the book.
“You’re fucking brilliant.”
“Huh?” Ezra asks absentmindedly, paying more attention to the flame under his pan than to my compliment. “What’d you say?”
“I said you’re brilliant.” I hold up the iPad I’m using to read his manuscript. “Your book, the YLA story, is incredible, Ez.”
“Oh. Thanks.” He flashes me a smile and then goes back to his French toast. “The key to getting this right is the milk-to-bread ratio.”
I hop off the counter and walk over to stand beside him at the stove. “Would you forget about your French toast for a minute and listen to me?”
“But it’s stuffed French toast.” He takes the pan off the burner and pulls me into his arms. “And I could listen to you all day. What were you saying? Something about me being a handsome, sexy genius?”
“Um…those weren’t my exact words.” I laugh up at him.
“I could have sworn that’s what you said, and I’m never wrong.” He slides his hands over my ass in a pair of his boxer shorts. “Some even say I’m fucking brilliant.”
“They probably just like your big dick,” I whisper and blink up at him as innocently as I can manage.
“I get that a lot.” He drops a kiss on my head and turns back to his French toast. I lean down to rest an elbow on the counter and watch him work.
“A lot?” I ask teasingly. “Have there been a lot?”
He pauses mid-toast-flip and slants me a glance. “Are you asking how many people I’ve had sex with?”
“I mean, it’s none of my business. If you don’t want to—”
Lord above, only eight?!
“Oh.” I straighten and rest my hip against the counter. “What a, um, single-digit number that is.”
“What about you?”
What about me? I’m tabulating years of hook-ups, one-night stands, fuck bois and carrying the one.
“If you don’t want to,” he says, cracking an egg into a bowl, “it’s fine. I don’t care how many people—”
“I don’t know.”
He glances up from whisking eggs, a small frown puckering his dark brows. “You don’t know what?”
“My number. I don’t know how many people I’ve been with.”
He resumes whisking, his frown clearing. “Oh.”
The whisking eggs and whirring refrigerator are the only sounds in the kitchen. I’ve never been embarrassed by my choices. I enjoy sex. I’ve had it with a lot of people. People I really liked…or tolerated…but didn’t want to commit to. I’ve always been safe and never mean about it. I was upfront, and when someone wanted more, I let them know “more” wasn’t an option.
“I just never…” I cross my arms over my stomach, fold one bare foot over the other. “I haven’t been interested in committed relationships. There hasn’t been anyone I wanted that with.”
“Tru.” He stops whisking and gives me the full impact of his undivided attention. His eyes are placid blue. No shadows or undercurrents. “I don’t care.” Ezra pushes the bowl aside and faces me. “But there is something I feel like we should be clear on regarding how you’ve handled sex in the past.”
Here we go.
“You’ve never wanted to commit before,” he says.
“Right. I’ve never wanted any strings attached.”
“I know I said we could be just sex, no emotional attachments.” He shoves his hands in his pockets. “But I feel like I have to be honest with you. Having you back in my life has been…it’s been exactly what I need, and what I felt last night… I’ve never felt that way before.”
I’m not even sure my heart is beating, but it also feels like there’s a tumult in my chest. “What are you saying, Ez?”
His mouth flattens into a hard line and his jaw hardens to stone. “I want strings.”
“I want strings.” He links our fingers, strokes his thumb across my palm. “Ropes, if necessary. I want anything that keeps you with me and me with you and tells everyone else don’t even think about it.”
I’m stunned and incredibly turned on, but that doesn’t take much where Ezra’s concerned.
“You…you do?” I ask faintly…again.
“I wouldn’t do well sharing you.”

We were never supposed to fall in love.
New York Times bestselling author, S.L. Scott, crafts her signature heartfelt style into a brand new emotional, second chance, standalone romance.
I have three goals: graduate from an Ivy League university, get into medical school, and follow in my fatherâs well-established footsteps. Everything was going exactly as planned until the local bad boy was delivered to my doorstep. Literally.
From the moment we meet, my old life becomes unrecognizable, but I have no regrets. Iâm utterly captivated by him. His smirk. His heart. His sharp wit. He pushes me to live, to be wild, to pursue the dream Iâve always hidden inside.
To the rest of the world, we make no sense.
Me, the girl from the gilded New England coast.
Joshua, from the small city of New Haven.
To us, weâre destiny.
Together, we had it all. Desperately. Madly. In love.
Until we didnât.
One tragic night changed everything.
Meet S.L. Scott
New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and wiling her days away lost in a good book and the movies.
With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the worlds those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.
Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She's obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she's a pro.

She canât let him scoreâ¦
Call it superstition, but when a guy bats as hot as Brooks Elliott, you donât mess with whatâs working. And whatâs working is him keeping his pants zipped and doing all of his scoring on the field.
So when I hear heâs planning to ditch his V-card now that heâs been traded to baseballâs lovable losersâaka my home team and my reason for living every March through OctoberâI do what any rational, dedicated, obsessed fan would do.
I make a plan to stop him.
But the thing about stopping him is that it requires spending time with him.
Lots. And lots. And lots of time.
And the more time I spend with him, the more I like him. Not as the guy whoâs going to help save my favorite team and finally bring home a championship ring, but as the guy whoâs helping me in my quest to bring back the teamâs old mascot. Who also loves making pancake and bacon sandwiches. And who would do almost anything for his love of the game.
But after all this time of jock-blocking himâ¦do I even have a chance?
And if I do, are we both destined to a life of celibacy in the name of winning?
Jock Blocked is a home run of a romantic comedy featuring the worldâs most superstitious sports fan, baseballâs oldest virgin hero, a rogue meatball, an adorable puppy with a cussing problem, and the best lovable losers. Mackenzie Montana, aka a woman on a mission
I never meant to become a criminal. But in the grand scheme of life, I donât think Iâm technically engaging in criminal behavior.
At least, if it is, you could call it a crime of passion.
And I am very passionate in my belief that while the Fireballs need to make changes to halt their record-breaking streak of being the worst losing team ever to play professional baseball, they donât need to do it with a new mascot. Which is why I decided to take two weeks off work and fly to Florida for spring training, where Iâm not saying that Iâve snuck into my home teamâs ballpark after hours to steal the worst proposed mascot costume, but Iâm not saying I havenât either.
They actually let a meatball make the final cut.
I needed at least another full season to get over the fact that the new Fireballs ownership killed the last mascot, and here they are, letting fans vote on replacing Fiery the Dragon with flaming meatballs.
I snort to myself while I creep through the darkened concrete hallways with a flaming meatball swallowing half of my body.
If youâre going to steal a giant meatball costume, itâs best to act like you know what youâre doing. And striding out of here with zero shame means two thingsâone, no oneâs going to stop me, and two, even if they do, Iâm incognito.
Itâs the perfect crime to counter the crime of killing Fiery.
Iâm one turn away from the door that I left propped open for myself after hiding out in the family bathroom after todayâs game when voices drift toward me.
Neither is familiar, but as I get closer to my final turn, I realize the voices are between me and my exit.
I got this.
I can stroll on by, flash a thumbs-up, pretend like Iâm heading out to prank the Fireballs at the team compound theyâre all staying at, or to make a fast-food run for publicity.
Acting like I know what Iâm doing inside this mascot costume is as easy as breathing. When youâve seen thousands of baseball games in your lifetime, itâs not hard.
So I turn the corner.
And then I suck in a surprised breath, because thatâs Brooks Elliott.
Oh. My. God.
The Fireballsâ newest acquisition. Like, so new he arrived yesterday. A mid-spring training acquisition, which is practically unheard of.
He plays third base, and he hits the ball like itâs evil incarnate and heâs an avenging angel and itâs his job to send that evil into another dimension.
He could be the reason we legitimately have a shot at making it to the post-season.
And I am not going to hyperventilate like I did the last time I was face-to-face with a baseball player.
Pretending to be a mascot?
I got this.
Talking to the players?
Itâs like talking to the gods.

4 Heart Review by Ashley
If I've said it once, I've said it 488 times, it doesn't get much better than Kristen Proby's With Me in Seattle series. And You Belong With Me is a great addition. Of course, seeing some of my favorite Montgomery's never hurts things either. But from the harrowing and heartbreaking opening, I was invested and eager to see how Elena's story would unfold.
I adored Elena and Archer. From their sweet, young innocent love to the awful circumstances that tore them apart. To the ache in their hearts that life and time and distance couldn't dim. As evidenced by connection that was still pulsing when Archer found her years later.
A decade on the run and always looking over her shoulder didn't just stop because Archer was back. Even though they were happy to be together again, Elena was wary. She had a good reason to be. After all, the mafia doesn't forget and punishments always have to be fulfilled.
Man! Kristen Proby had my heart pumping. I loved how Archer stepped up and in to protect and defend what was his. How he didn't back down and laid down his own set of rules. Talk about intense! The danger. The longing. The romance. The fear. The love- all of it combined to make You Belong With Me unputdownable.
~ Elena ~
Twelve Years Ago
I’ve always hated this room. My father’s office is grand, full of honey oak bookcases, a massive chandelier, and a desk in the center of the space that’s bigger than the bed I sleep on. Floor-to-ceiling windows are at his back and look out over the estate that he insisted on but, in large part, ignores.
Whenever I’m due for a massive lecture, this is where he drags me.
“May I please speak with you?"
“What is it?” He doesn’t look up from his computer, which doesn’t surprise me. Paying attention to his daughter has never been a priority for this man. I’ll just share my news and go straight to my room, pack my things, and be out of here for good.
I can almost smell the freedom. I can’t wait to move in with my husband.
That word makes me want to spin in circles of excitement. Archer and I will make a home and have babies. His family is wonderful, and there will be so much love in our household. Our kids will never question whether we love them. They’ll never be afraid.
And when the time comes, they’ll be able to marry whomever they please.
“I got married.” I square my shoulders and lift my chin. “Three days ago.” I’m not afraid of my father. Not now. But my stomach quivers with butterflies.
I’m eighteen years old. An adult. And I’m able to make my own decisions without influence from my parents.
What can he do? What’s done is done.
He looks up from his desk, and his cold eyes narrow. “And who, exactly, did you marry, Elena?”
He sets his pen aside and leans back in his big, black chair, silently watching me. His calculating stare makes me want to squirm, but I hold steady.
“Isn’t that the boy I told you to stop seeing a year ago?”
"He’s a good man, Dad. If you’d just give him a chance—”
He stands and paces behind the desk, looking out the windows and shoving his hands into his pockets. Maybe he’ll just tell me to leave. That would be the best-case scenario.
“What is your last name, Elena?”
“Don’t.” His voice isn’t loud, but it’s firm.
He turns and stares at me impassively. “That’s right. And that last name, along with the Martinellis’, holds more weight than you can ever fully understand. It means that, as my daughter, you don’t have the freedom to marry whomever you choose, whenever you decide to do it.”
“I’m an adult.”
“You’re my daughter!”
I blink at the spurt of anger. He’s not impassive now. His eyes shoot daggers at me, and sweat breaks out across my skin.
“Dad, I love him.”
He shakes his head and waves off my comment as if it’s an annoying fly buzzing around his head.
"We’ll have it annulled immediately.”
He lifts an eyebrow. I’ve never told my father no. I don’t think anyone in his life ever has. No one would dare. “Excuse me?”
I lift my chin again. “No.”
He stalks around his desk and grips my arm just above my elbow, almost painfully, and drags me through the house, up the stairs, and into my bedroom.
“You’re putting me in time out?”
“I should have done this a long time ago. You’re too spoiled. Too indulged. You think you can defy me, go against what’s best for the family like this?”
We keep moving quickly through the room to my closet, where he pulls a sash off my robe, yanks my arms above my head, and ties me to the light fixture in the middle of the room.
He steps back, barely breathing hard.
“This is where you’ll stay until you come to your senses.”
And then he walks out.
Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.
During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.
Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.
Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

"And ooh boy, The Moment. That was epic. Every girl needs a Cord (and a Moment) in her life." -Meagan via Goodreads
He’s back home, resurrecting old ghosts.
One of them is going to get hurt.
Molly arrives in Sutter’s Hollow out of gas and out of options. The rundown ranch seems like a perfect place to hide. Except the man who owns it seems just as dangerous as what’s chasing her.
Cord’s mantra growing up? Get out of Sutter’s Hollow. Now he’s back in town, but only long enough to get rid of his grandma’s ball and chain—the ranch. He doesn’t need a complication like Molly, who reminds him of an injured baby bird. He’s no protector. So why can’t he tell her to get lost?
Lacy Williams wishes her writing career was more like what you see on Hallmark movies: dreamy brainstorming from a French chateau or a few minutes at the computer in a million-dollar New York City penthouse. In reality, she’s up before the sun, putting words on the page before her kids wake up for the day. Those early-morning and late-night writing sessions add up, and Lacy has published fifty books in almost a decade, first with a big five publisher and then as an indie author. When she needs to refill the well, you can find Lacy birdwatching, gardening, biking with the kiddos, or walking the dog.
