Amazon UniversalGoodreadsExcerptWithout saying a word, she took his hand and led him to the bedroom where she stopped short of the bed and turned toward him. Her gaze locked on his. “Make love to me, Ben. Please.” Her words were barely above a whisper. He never broke eye contact as he lifted her shirt. “You didn’t have to ask, Rach. That was a given.” She ducked her head when the shirt passed over her face. “Showing you how much I love you is as fundamental as breathing these days.” She raised on her tiptoes. “I’ve waited so long to hear you say that.” “Wait no more, my love.” A whimper left her as tears filled her eyes. “Don’t cry, Rach. Tonight is the first of many nights for us to be together.” She blinked. “I never thought I’d hear anything like this from you.” Ben kissed the tip of her nose. “I know. I’m sorry I waited so long. Let me make it up to you.” “Yes…” A smile tilted his lips. “I love that you don’t wear a bra around the house.” She had only unbuttoned a few buttons when he reached behind his shoulder blades and pulled his shirt over his head. Before he had a chance to move, Rachel licked one nipple then the other. His hands clamped onto her hips. “God, Rachel…” She rolled her eyes toward his face. “You like?” “Yes, baby. I like very much.” Slipping his thumbs in the sides of her yoga pants, he pushed them to the floor. “No panties?” “You know I don’t wear them at home.” “Glad some things don’t change.” She slipped the button through the hole in his pants and slid her hands around to his hips when he grasped her wrists. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it and furrowed his brows. Staring into Rachel’s eyes, he swallowed. “I … want … to make love to you … bareback.” Rachel blinked. The tears from earlier finally made their way over her lids. “Yes,” she whispered as her head bobbed up and down. “Yes.” A bright smile formed on Ben’s face. “Thank you, baby.” He lifted her and laid her on the bed. Rachel cocked an eyebrow and smiled. “Why are you so nervous?” “I haven’t had sex without a condom in ten years, and I’m about to feel you, really feel you for the first time, Rach. I’m kinda freaking the fuck out.” “Me, too, Ben. This is the first time I’ve ever had sex without a barrier.” “Ever?” “Ever.” He slid into bed beside Rachel and held her close. He could hear the beating of both of their hearts. “A thirty-five-year-old man isn’t supposed to be nervous about sex.” She ran her hand through his hair and down his jawline. “The nerves are because this is more than sex. Even though we’ve made love many times, it’s the first time since we’ve declared our love out loud.” He leaned in and kissed her as his hand skated down her back and over her hip. Cupping the cheek of her ass, he gently squeezed. Her hand snaked down his chest and around his back as her body pressed into his with her hands stroking up and down his back. Their bodies moved in rhythm as their whole beings—mind, body, and soul—synced. Ben’s body became rigid as Rachel’s softened. One of his hands wrapped under her thigh and lifted it, exposing her most intimate place. The back of his fingers skimmed across her bundle of nerves and a shiver ran through her. “You’re wet, sweetheart. Are you ready for me?” “Yes, Ben … yes.” He rolled her to her back and followed her over. He rested on his elbows as he looked into her eyes. “I love this … making love with you, going to sleep with you by my side, and waking up with you.” He kissed her lips, and her fingers plowed into his hair. “For all the times I didn’t make you feel special … you’re the center of my world.” He kissed her jaw, and she flexed her fingers. “For all the times I’ve taken us for granted … I’m sorry, and I’ll do better.” He kissed her shoulder, and her fingers relaxed. “For all the times when I didn’t give you what you needed from me … you’re my best friend.” He slid down and took one of her breasts into his mouth. She moaned, and he knew he was giving her what she needed. He released her and looked into her eyes. “For every time you comforted me when I couldn’t break free from grief … I will be your rock.” He moved to the other breast as she arched her back for him. “For every time you felt as though you were second … you will be first from now on.” He kissed her other shoulder. “For all the times I haven’t told you … I love you.” He kissed her jaw. “I’ll always love you.” His kiss was urgent, needy, hungry, and her arms wrapped around his neck. He didn’t release her before he deepened the kiss with his tongue requesting entrance. She granted entry as her legs sawed up and down his, and he rolled his pelvis into her. “Ben, please…” “I’m going to take care of you,.” He lined himself with her and slowly entered her body. Her eyes closed and her head tilted back, baring her neck for Ben to take advantage. He kissed the exposed skin. “Rachel, you’re so beautiful.” He pushed up on his hands, causing her arms to fall from around him and watched as a flush ran down her body. The love in her eyes shone bright, and he couldn’t believe he’d never noticed it before—this woman was his destiny. Rachel’s hands cupped his face as if she knew he’d had an epiphany. A demure smile appeared on her face. “You’ve ruined me for anyone else, Ben Stevens.” He rocked into her as he dropped to his elbows. “God, Rachel, I was blind for too long.” He peppered kisses over her face. “I love you. Love you.” The tears fell from his eyes as his movements increased. “I’m yours, sweetheart.” Rachel’s arms curved up his back, leaving a hot trail in their path as she dug into his shoulders. “Yes, Ben, right there, yes. I love you … always.” “Let go, Rach. I’m right behind you.” She quivered in his arms as her body released what felt like an earthquake. As the aftershocks waned, Ben’s release shot through his body like a rocket leaving him utterly sated. Instinctively, he dropped the towel, and his hands closed around her upper arms. “I’ve got you.”
No, he didn’t. She’d been managing on her own for years, and wasn’t about to start depending on a guy who’d left her all alone to deal with the consequences of their brief…thing. She tried to take a step back, but her double-crossing hands didn’t leave his shoulders. Instead, they slid down and molded to his chest.
“Sorry, I…” she stuttered.
“I’m not.” His hands closed over hers, and his thumbs caressed back and forth over the tops of her fingers.
An electric current shot up her arms, down her spine, and tingled all the way to her curling toes.
“I should be sorry.” Dylan’s soft breaths brushed over her cheeks. “Joe’s has a lot at stake, and your plumbing has been allowed to deteriorate due to lack of use.”
He had no idea.
His gaze smoothed over her burning cheeks. “That’s a problem I’d like to remedy for you.” A dimple appeared as one corner of his mouth lifted into a hint of a smile. “I’d benefit from it, too.” The dimple deepened.
Time slowed.
A bone-deep ache of desire stirred in her chest. Before she could stop herself, she went up on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his.

My badge wasn’t going to save me and my family. If anything, it would only get us killed.
Four girls on a weekend getaway sounds like fun. Right? In hindsight, yes. It started out that way. But the happiness took a swan dive when a stranger appeared wanting to borrow a phone.
All too quickly I realized I was looking into the eyes of a soulless killer. If I didn’t think fast, his would be the last face I ever saw.
I had to save my family. If it means destroying myself in the process, well, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
I opened my door and put the bag on the seat as I took another scorching drink of coffee. When I turned I saw Sara was scowling. I raised a brow and turned slightly to see Bria talking to two younger men, as in younger than we were. I scanned them and turned to see them a little better.
I braced my feet on the ground, apart and ready for action if needed.
“Blue shirt - right ankle.”
“Saw it,” she replied. “Though, I don’t think it’s a gun bulge. It looks off a little. His pants are too big and baggy to be sure.”
“The other one gives me the willies,” I grumbled. “His eyes are all but devouring her like a hungry lion would a gazelle.”
“Agreed,” Sara said, her voice was soft but I heard the hard line in it. I moved to sit my coffee in the cup holder. I stretched again, a decoy so I could get a look around for another vehicle. I saw an older truck off to the side of the building. My nose wrinkled.
“Y’all ready to move out?” Tami drew my attention and I nodded. Sara was still watching Bria grin up at the guys in front of her. “Well-”
“Bria, let’s go!” Sara barked. “Now!”
I gave her a hard look but said nothing. Bria scowled, and I swear if looks could kill, Sara would have dropped to the ground. I laughed internally, but kept my guard up. The hair on the back of my neck was on end. Something just wasn’t right with those fellas. When Bria turned to head back this way the guys looked towards us. They smiled, an evil, make my skin crawl kind of grin.
I got a good look at them, though. They had dark hair, were of a medium build and both had hard eyes. The taller of the two had stars tattooed along the side of his face and across his left eyebrow.
That looked like a gang tat, great.

Title: Control Freak
Author: Brianna Hale
Genre: Steamy Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 27, 2019
Cover Design: Maria @ Steamy Designs
Total control. I need it in every aspect of my life. Some would say that makes me an asshole. A freak. But as long as everything’s exactly how I want it I’m completely flexible.
I’m kidding.
Okay, I’m not kidding.
Lacey needs someone in her life who’s bigger and scarier than her anxieties, and she wants that man to be me. Her boss. The Viking in a suit.
I hope she understands what she’s getting into. This daddy isn’t going to pat her on the head and tell her she’s a good girl for nothing. Especially not when she’s spinning out of control.
I show her the two silver objects on my palm. Nipple clamps. I apply each one, screwing them firmly into place and giving them a small tug so I know they're secure. I look up and wait a moment, giving her the chance to say orange or red if she needs to. Her expression is slightly pained, but she doesn’t speak. I’m not finished yet. I take out two small metal weights on thin silver chain, and I hook each one to the clamps. The tips of her nipples are an angry pink. ‘Do you want to say anything, Lacey?’ She shakes her head firmly, though her lower lip is caught between her teeth and her gaze is fastened on the other side of the room, as if she’s concentrating hard. ‘That’s wonderful,’ I murmur, tracing her nipples with the tip of a finger. ‘You just stay there.’ I go back to my desk and continue with my work. I don’t look at her, but I’m totally aware of her. She’s breathing more sharply than normally so it must hurt. Good. Her silent fortitude is like a drug for me. It’s brutish, liking sweet girls in pain, but it fucking makes my dick hard.
Control Freak by Brianna Hale
Brittany's rating: 4 of 5 stars I love Brianna Hale and her "daddy" romances, but I feel she fell a little short with this one. The title of the novel is Control Freak, and it's mentioned early on in the book that Stian has been labelled by others as a control freak, but I really don't see much of that in him. I feel that if Brianna Hale had gone maybe a little over the top with his control freak tendencies, this book would have been a bit better. There also didn't really seem to be much that the characters were working towards. Yes, Lacey is anorexic, and yes, she finds herself slipping in her recovery, but to be honest, it just wasn't all that exciting. I would have loved more drama, more conflict. It seems almost a bit like your stereotypical romance, (view spoiler)[ they get together, they fall in love, they break up, then they get back together. (hide spoiler)] but without much excitement. Now I hate saying all these things, because Brianna Hale is amazing and I have loved all her other books, but I was given an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review, and honestly, this one just fell a little flat for me. View all my reviews
There’s nothing Brianna Hale likes more than a large, stern alpha male with a super-protective and caring streak, and when she’s not writing about them she can usually be found with a book, a cocktail, planning her next trip to a beautiful location or attending the theatre. She believes that pink and empowerment aren’t mutually exclusive, and everyday adventures are possible. Brianna lives in London.

This is a terrible idea. I can’t stay here.” I wished there was more force behind my voice, more sound, but all I could get out was a squeak of protest.
Between arguing with David, answering a million questions about the shooting, and even more from the hospital staff to determine whether my head had been damaged further, what little voice I had was shot. It had been a long, arduous morning. The shock from being shot at was still buzzing underneath my skin, but it was now secondary to the utter disbelief that the place Case believed I would be safest was under his roof. When he told me he was placing me in protective police custody and taking me to a safe house, never in a million years would I have guessed he meant his house. I was wondering if maybe he was the one who hurt his head when he took me to the ground. “What about Hayes? Someone shot at me today. You took a bullet for me this morning. You can’t put your son in the line of fire. I won’t allow it.” All of the things I wanted to do to emphasize my point, I couldn’t. There was no crossing my arms over my chest thanks to my jacked-up elbow. There was no stomping my foot in aggravation thanks to the soft splint holding my ankle in one position. There would be no yelling, since my voice could barely be heard, so all I was left with was a glare. Unfortunately, Case ignored my dirty look and continued to usher me inside the house. His morning had been even longer than mine, and he looked as haggard as I felt. After making sure I was secured inside the hospital with an armed guard, he’d had to deal with the crime scene and the slew of reporters who showed up on the scene. Since a shooting in a high traffic and very public place like the hospital was bound to make national news, Case mentioned it was more than likely the Texas Rangers were going to get called in to help investigate. He didn’t sound thrilled at the prospect, he also didn’t seem too concerned by the fact he was shot. He still had a red stain and a hole in his tan uniform shirt from where the bullet, which was meant for me, skimmed his shoulder. The wound required ten stitches and now was dressed in a stark white bandage much like the one wrapped around my injured hand. We were quite a pair.
