Title: Saved With the Single Dad
Series: The Single Dads of Seattle
Author: Whitley Cox
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance/Single Dad
Release Date: July 27, 2019
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.
This is Mitch's story ...
Single dad of Seattle, Mitch Benson can't move, can't blink, can't think, let alone do his job and photograph the woman on stage. Every fiber of his body wakes up when Paige McPherson starts to dance. She pours out her heart, bares her grief and pain for the world to see--the same grief and pain that has ruled his every waking moment since his wife passed and left him to raise their daughter alone. Paige is dancing his truth, and in that moment, Mitch knows his life is going to change.
Paige never thought she'd notice a man again, but there's no ignoring Mitch--or the message in the photographs he takes. Learning to dance has reignited her passion for life and shattered the protective shell she's built around her heart. That's not good--no matter what anyone else says, it's her fault she lost her son, and while she's on the healing path, it's a long journey and one she's determined to take alone.
Mitch knows Paige thinks she doesn't deserve a second chance at love, but he can't bear to back away from the one woman who makes him feel alive again. He's willing to fight for their future, whatever it takes.
Paige can't deny her attraction for Mitch, but moving forward means betraying her past. Now she's faced with a new dilemma--quit her job as the head pastry chef at a very prestigious Seattle restaurant and strike off on her own, or stay working for the boss from hell. Paige isn't sure she's ready for all the changes. Can the single dad save her in time? Or will grief and indecision swallow her whole?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Her lips were soft, and she tasted like sparkling wine as he swept his tongue inside. A moan rose up from the back of her throat. He deepened the kiss, his hands roaming up her back and into the wild curls on the top of her head. He pulled the hair elastic free and threaded his fingers into the dark, tight waves. His blood began to race south and pool between his legs. Undoubtedly, she could probably feel it against her lower belly.
She pushed her hips against his. Oh yeah, she felt it. He also knew he wasn’t ready to take it any further than a kiss. For one, he didn’t have any condoms on him. Two, just last week, Paige had wanted nothing to do with him. If he wanted things between them to be real, which he did, they needed to take things slow. He’d promised himself that they would go at Paige’s speed, and he intended to keep that promise, no matter how much his balls protested otherwise. And three, he knew he was ready to pursue something with Paige, but he also hadn’t dated in years. How did people do it anymore? How did thirty-somethings date? Did people date? Or was it like his mother said, people just jumped into bed with one another and figured out the rest later? There was no wooing, no courting, no getting to know the person before you stripped down in front of them and showed them all your freckles. He wanted to woo Paige. He wanted to court her and date her and find out exactly what made her tick. They’d both been through a hell of a lot in the last couple of years, and she deserved respect for all that she’d overcome. He broke the kiss but held her against him. Both of their chests heaved, and warm puffs of air from her mouth hit his face. “We’re taking this slow, baby,” he said, pressing his lips to her forehead. “I really like you, and I don’t want to push. Don’t want to rush things.” He heard her swallow and felt her nod. His fingers were still threaded in her hair, his palm against the back of her head. “I like you too,” she whispered. Mitch’s heart skipped a beat, and his smile hurt his face. He pulled her away just enough so he could look into her eyes. “Well, that’s just about the best news I’ve heard all day. Possibly all year.” She worried her plump bottom lip between her teeth. “I’m okay taking it slow … but … ” He lifted his eyebrows. “Hmm?” “Can we do that again? I forgot how much I love just kissing.” Mitch groaned, and his cock lurched against her thigh in protest. “Baby, we can kiss all night if you want to.” Then he dipped his head and took her mouth again, reveling in her little moans and whimpers as she fit perfectly into his arms. As if she were meant to be there all along.
A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when nap time comes, and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.
A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, these books have everything we need to satisfy the curious kink in all of us.

The main door swung open, startling her. The water bottle slipped from her fingers and the liquid spilled down the front of her blouse. A gorgeous woman strode in, rocking a sexy black bandage-style dress, more of her on display than covered. Her breasts spilled from the narrow strap covering them, yet gravity appeared to be on her side. The sky-high red heels and platinum-blonde hair made her even more alluring. The woman the epitome of a bombshell.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. Is Jackson around?” the woman inquired in a silky voice.
Jackson walked up behind her, his tone didn’t hide his surprise seeing the woman here. “Hey, I thought I was meeting you at Giordelli’s?”
Is this his girlfriend? Her mind spun at a mile a minute and her mouth went dry. “I decided to Uber here and surprise you.” The words rolled off her tongue.
He looked between the women. “Peyton, this is Lana. Lana, Peyton.”
“Nice to meet you,” she lied to the sex-on-a-stick woman standing before her.
“It’s a pleasure. Jackson tells me you’re the best designer in all of San Francisco.” Her sultry voice like a swift kick in the gut.
Peyton smiled, her stare following the woman embracing Jackson, running her hand up the back of his neck and into his hair. Who the hell does she think she is? Fury nearly choked Peyton. She swallowed hard, trying not to reveal her anger. What right did she have to be angry. Sebastian made her happy. Didn’t stop her from wanting to throat punch the sex goddess? All logic left Peyton the day Jackson Vance sauntered back into her life.
He pulled away from Lana, his gaze landed on the front of Peyton’s blouse, still wet from the spill. Looking away, she didn’t want his pity. This was like a bad episode of The Bachelor—where the hot girl rides off into the sunset with a rose and the dowdy girl stands there like a fool, with a stain on the front of her blouse. No, thanks.
Ever so casually, she hoisted her briefcase strap over her shoulder. “You guys have a great night. See you tomorrow.”
“Here, let me help you with your bag,” Jackson said, coming up behind her and grabbing the strap of her briefcase.
“I’ve got it.” She kept a tight hold not wanting his help, but he slipped it from her fingers with ease.
Stepping outside, she walked beside the couple like a pathetic third wheel. Her breaths came faster, and it took all her strength not to run for her car. Lana wrapped her hand around his bicep, and they strode along the sidewalk, like a picture, perfect couple. Peyton bit down hard on her lower lip and fought the urge to demand Lana remove her hand from his body. He paused at his car, parked right in front of the restaurant, and unlocked the door for Lana. His date. They were going on a freaking date. Nausea rose in her throat.
“I can take my bag. I’m parked right over there,” Peyton snarled, and grabbed at the strap with impatience.
Lana stepped into the car and he shut the door, his voice calm and controlled. “Stop it. I’m walking you to your car.”
She marched ahead of him, unable to stop the onset of a full-blown meltdown. She unlocked the passenger door and held her other hand out for her bag, avoiding his gaze.
“Bag, please,” she hissed.
“You’re mad.” He chuckled, the man obviously pleased with himself.
“Don’t flatter yourself.”
“Okay, Pea. See you tomorrow.”
He continued to stand there when she walked around to the driver’s side.
Irked by his cool, aloof manner, “Your date is waiting for you.”
“And I’m waiting for you to get your ass in the car.” His emerald-green stare drilled into her.

Watch Me by K. Webster
Brittany's rating: 5 of 5 stars *fans self* This short book is hot and sexy. It's about Lucca, who is Sofina's brother, from the previous book Daddy Me. It's really quick and fun to read, only took me collectively two or three hours. There's not much to say about the book, except it's the usual K. Webster and Ker Dukey writing: amazing and flowy. You can never tell which of the two authors are writing what part. I highly recommend this book. You could honestly take an extended lunch break at work and read this. This whole KKinky read collection is a must-read. All short, fun, and sexy reads that will definitely make your work day a little bit brighter. View all my reviews

A tentative knock followed by the wooden classroom door opening caught his attention. Mr. Atwood, the school principal, entered, followed by a new girl. A wave ran through the room as every student sat up straight to get a look at the newcomer. She wore a mud-colored dress that did little to hide an impressive chest and rounded hips. Her plain brown hair was pulled back into a long ponytail, and she hunched into herself as she met the twenty pairs of eyes fixed on her.
“We have a new student, Betsey Fullerton. She and her family just moved here from Mineral Springs, and her father is the head minister at First Methodist Church. Let’s everyone welcome Betsey and help her learn her way around.”
Several “Hi, Betseys” popped up from multiple students, but Deuce’s comment rang out over them all.
“Damn, look at the size of them titties. Betcha can shelve books on them things.”
The room went silent. The principal turned beet red but said nothing. Blackjack’s reputation was well known, and no one wanted to anger either him or any of the other Dragon Runners.
But Betsey was new. She didn’t know the town or the motorcycle club that many of them feared. Her blue eyes lasered to the back of the room and landed on Brick’s. The zap from that look held him in place and burned through to his toes. She wasn’t scared. She wasn’t confused. She understood exactly what was uttered and why. Her expression was one of… of… contempt.
Betsey’s gaze moved to Deuce, who was laughing at his own joke. She straightened up to her above-average height, and her perfect hourglass figure became clearer even in the ugly dress. Her breasts were full and larger than most other girls of the same age. The dress nipped in sharply at the waist and flared out over her curvy hips. Brick had overheard more than one conversation from girls talking about the right skirts, the right shoes, or the right hairstyle. Betsey stood out proudly and with no apology for her less-than-fashionable appearance. She cocked a hip to the side, crossed her arms under her breasts, lifting and displaying them even more, and stared down at the laughing cocky boy with the shiner on his eye.
Brick lost his breath at the picture she presented. He reached over and popped his friend in the back of his head. “Shut up, dumbass.”
“What the fuck, asshole? I’m just messin’.”
“Mess with someone else. That girl is gonna be mine someday.”

Excerpt
There is no breeze when my stiletto hits the footpath. The air is stale and lifeless. Like me. I slip each foot out of my shoes and hang them from my fingertips. The path is scorching against the flesh of my soles. Iâm not sure why I do itâit could be because the path is far too hot for my skin to bear, or it could be because this is a natural act for me, but I run. I run flat out. Running has always alleviated my tensionâitâs probably why I started training for this stupid half-marathon in the first place. My handbag slaps at my sides as my feet pound against the tar. Running usually supplies contentment in my life, but right now I feel numb. There is no contentmentâno nothing. Maybe if I run far enough away then I wonât have cancer anymore.
Darting in front of a car, I inhale harshly as I wave my apologies before entering a childrenâs playground on the opposite corner to the medical centre. Children swing freely. The sound of innocent laughter fills the air. The green grass instantly cushions my boiling feet. I stare at its brilliant colouration when my head drops and my hands grasp my knees.
âItâs okay. Breathe,â I tell myself, trying to slow each breath.
Without warning the grass slowly fades to a haunting grey. I flick my head upwards and my body follows suit. The swings bearing the weight of small children suddenly morph into aged tombstones. This once beautiful playground becomes ugly, as I see only an eerie cemetery. I try to escape the sudden changes, and step forward. My lungs seize, causing me to cough hard, and I gasp. I attempt to inhale air, but itâs not entering my body like it should. A stampeding herd pummels my chest, buckling my torso over, folding me in half once more.
âBreathe, May,â I whisper, right before my legs give way. I fall heavily upon my knees as salty tears flow steadily from my disbelieving eyes. Finally, I draw a needy mouthful of air only to release it again in an injured howl.
Please donât take my life.

Up close, he’s even more beautiful. He has an elegant face with a strong jaw and a cleft in his chin, high cheekbones, and wide-set eyes—all that, touched with a hint of softness. His skin’s the color of milk and honey and I wonder if he’s real. What if I’m dreaming? What if when I wake up, he’s gone?
My heart beats faster when he tosses a smile at me—wide, all-consuming, and with dimples—pretty much knocking me off my feet. For a second there, I actually forget I’m a sweaty ice pop. “Hey,” he says, ignoring the noise around us. His voice is a blend of rough and tender, and it washes over me like a warm, playful wave, flirty and tempting. Erasing all my surroundings. “Hey.” I return the greeting, not sure if he can hear me when my tongue stiffens. He doesn’t need to, though. Because he looks at me as if he can read my mind, and I wonder if that’s why he’s smiling. “Did you enjoy the show?” he asks without paying attention to Jess or Luke. “Yes.” I nod. “Did you?” My eyes drink in every detail of him slowly and hungrily. He’s the kind of guy you’d see on Pinterest when you type “gothic fashion.” He wears rings and a chain necklace and his boots have metal studs. I can tell he’s put a lot of thought into his outfit. “I did… I heard my buddy hooked you up with some tickets to see our show?” He gives Luke a pat on the back. “Looks like it.” I breathe out, thrusting my hands into the tiny pockets of my jacket. The cloud of condensation coming from my mouth floats lazily in the air between us. “So…” I drawl, letting the words sit on my tongue for a moment. “You’re in a band.” “Yep.” A head tilt. “And you like rock music.” “Yes.”

Will a snap decision change their lives forever?
Bizarre kidnappings stun the Big Island of Hawaii, pulling Danker Donahue back into the game and forcing him to partner with Jolene Kualoha, the woman who left him seven years ago when his DNA showed up in paternity lawsuit. The prejudice-motivated hate crimes are the wildest anyone has ever seen. Victims are being poisoned then released once the ransoms are paid, many losing their lives.
In the shadow of Jolene's success as a helicopter pilot, a troubled woman develops a fixation on Jolene and imitates her appearance. Matters turn dark when the copycat is shot dead. Was Jolene the target? Threats mount when she barely survives an accident after her brake cables are severed.
When these crimes threaten her sanity, Jolene is forced to trust the one person she thought she’d lost forever, Danker. Instantly, sparks fly between them, and as much as she wants to rekindle their relationship, she must protect her heart.
An old enemy, Seamus McGinn, breaks out of a maximum-security prison and invites Danker to a meet-up. Surprisingly, the kidnapper joins forces with McGinn along with his sick fans. McGinn trumpets his ‘murders by ice pick’, and it’s up to Danker to stop him. The whole island is on edge with a live feed from the maniac’s website.
In a stolen moment, Jolene shows him hope, and he makes a snap decision that will change their lives forever. Will he make it back to show her?

Older didn’t mean wiser. All this time Jolene had dreaded running into him, sometimes dressing in expectation of it. If she did see him again, she wanted to look good. Today she looked like crap, but what did it matter? Danker’s reason for being on the Big Island had nothing to do with her, not in a personal way. Tomorrow they’d meet at the FBI field office to collaborate on a serial kidnapping case. She’d wear a sleeveless linen dress, open-toed pumps, and bring the accordion file full of notes and newspaper clippings she’d gathered.
The perpetrator targeted wealthy Hawaiians with social capital, the kind of people seen on television or featured in newspapers when they donated money to charities. The latest missing person, Pua Iona, owned Iona Hawaiian Rugs and was an acquaintance of hers. Not that they shared the same social strata, but they’d volunteered together at an artisans’ market to boost Hawaiian crafts. After Pua went missing and fit the criminal’s modus operandi, Mayor Billy Kim, frustrated with police progress, contacted Jolene’s former boss from California, FBI Agent Gary Guhleman, cowboyish in dress but wise in judgement. Guhleman didn’t need to tell her Hawaiians resisted outside intrusions. “You know everyone,” he’d said. “Witnesses will share what they know.” The agent and his wife had retired, rather semi-retired, here in Kona. Soon after she and Guhleman had spoken, he called in Danker Donahue to consult. “You remember him, right?” “Gosh, let me think.” She and Danker went hot and heavy after the Long Beach case that ended with the arrest of mobster Seamus McGinn.

The closer she got to Evergreen, the heavier the snow. That added to Lisa’s happiness. Maybe there would be a snow angel in her future. She hadn’t made one since... It had definitely been way too long.
She took the Evergreen exit from the highway, reducing her speed on the quaint country road while still belting out fa-la-la-la-las. Up ahead, a red truck with pine trees in the back stood at the stop sign. She pulled up behind it. After a moment, when the truck hadn’t budged, she rolled her window down and peered around it. That’s when she realized the hood of the truck was up. Aw, man. She leaned her head out the window. “Are you having trouble with your truck?” “It’s not my truck,” a man’s voice said. What kind of answer was that? “Is it stolen?” A dark-haired man with what looked like a day’s worth of beard poked his head around the truck. “No. It’s on loan from a friend,” he said with a smile. A very attractive smile, Lisa couldn’t help but notice. The truck had to be an early ’50s model. Nice. She could’ve done without the gaudy wreath on the back, but it was a sweet ride. Who loaned that kind of vehicle to someone? They must’ve been a pretty good friend. She didn’t know why she had the urge to tease him, but she gave in to it. “Ohhh,” she said with an exaggerated moan. “You broke your friend’s truck?” That got a reaction out of the guy. He stepped out from the front of the truck, looking on the defensive. “I didn’t break it, it was already...” Lisa almost grinned, nearly breaking the ruse, then frowned in an attempt to look serious. “Hey, it looks to me like it—” He shook his wrench in her direction. “You’re just messing with me.” His smile registered in his eyes as he laughed. Busted. “I am. I am.” She flung open her door and got out. “No. Seriously. Can I do something to help?” He eyed her cautiously as he wiped his hands on a red shop rag. He was wearing a green down jacket, and he didn’t seem the least bit worried about dirtying the off-white sweater beneath it. “How are you with old engines?” “Astonishingly good,” she admitted. Years of hanging out with her grandfather every summer in his garage while he worked on his old cars had paid off. The old truck looked to be in great shape. It had either been kept in a garage and treated with white gloves, or there’d been one heck of a restoration on it. The flame-red paint job was so perfect it looked like it had just come off the line. He looked unsure whether to believe her. “Really?” “Yeah. May I?” She took the wrench from his hand, noticing that his shiny red toolbox was from about the same era as the truck. Nice. “Thank you.” She leaned in to look under the hood. “All right. What have we got here?” She reached in and gave something a tap. “Have you tried this?” “Yep.” The motor was clean. Someone took superb care of this ride. The spark plugs didn’t appear corroded or oily, but she tapped on the spark plug wire just the same. “How about this?” “Twice,” he said. “Hmm. I bet you haven’t tried this.” But before she could give the battery cable a good jiggle he said, “Yes. I tried that too.” “Ah, but...” Lisa reached in to the engine and cranked the wrench against something that seemed a little stuck. “Let me just...” She got it to budge, then stood back. Handing the wrench to him, she asked, “Do you mind if I try to start it?” “No, go for it.” “This is a beautiful old truck.” She crossed in front of him, opened the driver’s door and climbed in. “Yeah, isn’t it?” She closed the door. On the seat of the truck was a clipboard with an employment application for Banford Logging, Inc., already filled out. The guy’s name was Kevin Miller. He looks like a Kevin. In the passenger’s seat, a wooden crate overflowed with fresh vegetables: collards, sweet potatoes, eggplant, carrots, zucchini and peppers. They made her a little hungry for a good stir-fry. “All right.” She leaned forward and twisted the key. The engine struggled. “Hold on a second,” he said. “Yep.” She took her hand from the key and put both of her hands in the air. He did something under the hood, then stepped out where she could see him. “Okay. Try it again.” She turned the key and the truck started right up. “Hey! Look at that!” She rested her elbow out the window. “Teamwork.” “Yeah.” He walked over to the driver’s side of the truck. “Although I contend that I did most of the work, and most of that before you got here.” He leaned against the front fender, just behind the cute little round side mirror. “That is fair. However.” She raised a finger toward him. “Had I not come along, you’d still be standing here with your little feet in the snow.” “Also fair.” His friendly smile sent a zing right through her that could’ve melted that snow.
