Title: Breaking the Fall
Author: Ember Leigh
Genre: Contemporary Romance
About Breaking the Fall:
In the live music industry, Eddie Valenzuela’s seen enough bands to know what good really sounds like. During one wild night out, he collides headfirst with an up-and-coming singer who puts ‘good’ to shame. She’s got the voice, the look, and holy hell, the body too. But after a sizzling week together, the singer who seemed like Mrs. Right turns out to be Mrs. Not Quite Right when she disappears without so much as an Instagram handle.
Fiona Frank’s only goal in life was to make it big doing what she loved: playing music. And her hard work paid off, in the form a big-time record deal that has her doing TV shows, radio spots, and even her first international tour. Her career is built on spurning love and staying single, though she’s never been opposed to the occasional lover. As long as they don’t last. And she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that the world falls in love with The Sin Girl.
But she wasn’t ready for the positive pregnancy test on her first international tour. There’s only one man that could be the father: Eddie. While Fiona grapples with the next steps, Eddie is determined to make a family out of the three of them. But if the label finds out that she’s not only pregnant but seeing someone, then its goodbye stardom.
Which means she has to figure out how to break her fall.
Catch up on the Series:
Fiona shrank when she spotted him, offering a small smile that said a thousand different things at once. He went up to her, pausing a few feet away.
She was gorgeous, of course. Because she was gorgeous always, even if she’d lied to him, left him in the dust, and hadn’t spared him a thought until recently for some unknown, urgent reason. And with the nervousness dancing in her gaze, he wasn’t sure this was purely an apology mission. Probably she was here to deliver some bad news. Sorry, I forgot to tell you my Russian mafia boyfriend found out about you, and now you need a new identity. Or maybe, Sorry, turns out I had something highly contagious and foreign when we hooked up, and now we’re both going to die.
Nobody said anything for a moment. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out.
“Come on.” He jerked his head toward the bar, and she followed, tugging at the bangles around her wrist. When they got to the wooden bar top, he pressed his palms to the surface, searching out a bartender. “I’m in a business meeting. What do you want?”
His clipped tone surprised even him. Fiona sighed. Even in distress or exasperation or confusion, or whatever this was, she still sounded throaty and sexy as hell.
“I…wanted to talk to you.” She fiddled with her bracelets a moment longer before white-knuckling the edge of the bar.
“After all this time?” He couldn’t keep the snide tone out of his voice. “It’s been three months. What could we possibly have to talk about?”
“I went on tour,” she said, her voice low but firm. “It’s not like I was around.”
“I guess that’s why they make phones.” He sniffed, tapping his knuckles against the bar.
“Things happened,” she said, picking at a cuticle.
“Like…my first international tour, ever!” She huffed, dropping her arms. “That’s not exactly the time to start anything.”
She had a point. Didn’t mean she was right to just disappear like that.
“Nobody said anything about starting anything.” But lord, had he wanted to. “More about common courtesy, you know.”
To her credit, she looked regretful. There was that, at least. But he was tired of talking about it. Even though he’d wished for this, he was already sick of the opportunity to hear her out.
A tense silence settled between them, and Fiona was licking her lips now. He caught the bartender’s attention, turning to her once he arrived.
“You getting a drink?”
She shook her head. “I can’t stay long.”
More silence. He ran a thumb up and down his jawline.
He glanced at her sharply. The frustration had officially boiled over. “Cut the childish shit and just say it. What do you need from me?”
Something dull slid over her, like a mask maybe, or perhaps a shield. “I’m pregnant.”
The words hammered through him, knitting his brows together with their dissonance and urgency. Fiona shifted on her seat, and he caught a gut-punching waft of her scent. Amber and patchouli.
Why would she be telling him this?
“It’s yours,” she suddenly added, as though in response to his thought. He drew a low breath, the words still not quite sinking in.
“I just…” A breathy sigh. “I wanted you to know.”
He nodded, unable to look away from the glacial tip of the ice cube in his drink. The way it caught the light when he twisted the glass. The calm it promised, if only he drank it.
But suddenly, he wasn’t feeling the old-fashioned.
He turned to Fiona. Her brows were drawn together, her face tense. As if waiting for some sort of inevitable backlash.
“Yes.” She deflated suddenly, her head dropping to her palms. “Trust me, I wouldn’t disrupt your life if I wasn’t serious.”
Silence thudded between them again, so vast and engulfing that for a moment he got lost in the abyss. So many questions—he had a list of at least ten right now—questions that he didn’t have to think about before asking. What would they name the baby? Did she want a girl or a boy? What about when schooltime arrived—was she hellbent on public or something else?
He swirled his drink around, the ice cubes clinking bringing him back to the present. Finally he dared to meet Fiona’s gaze. There was something real and raw there, the same intensity that had prompted their three-day bender.
The same intensity that could reel him in again like a fish.
And now that she was carrying his baby?
Hook, line and sinker, for the second time.

All of Him: A Single Dad Collection
“The Baby Drop Off” by Kelsie Rae – EXCERPT
The call disconnects, and I shove the phone into my back pocket before opening the door and jumping out of my skin.
“What the hell?” I mumble under my breath, assessing the soft pink lump on my welcome mat. Squatting low, I tilt my head to get a better look. What the hell is a car seat covered with a pink blanket doing in my hallway? As I lean a little closer, a soft cry squeaks through the blanket, and I fall flat on my ass. You’d think it was the grim reaper with my overreaction, but I’m still trying to wrap my head around a kid being at my front door.
So, sue me.
The crying escalates until I’m looking up and down the hallway, afraid someone’s going to complain about the noise while praying they know how to make it stop at the same time.
With the sole of my sneaker, I nudge the car seat to rock it back and forth, but the motion doesn’t quiet the baby inside. As if the kid’s a ticking time bomb, I edge closer and slowly lift the blanket. Sure enough, a little human is tucked inside, its face red with anger.
“You okay, little buddy?” I ask cautiously, inspecting the rest of the car seat for any clues about who this kid is and why it’s on my doorstep. Tucked between the baby’s kicking legs and the side of the seat, a white envelope catches my eye.
Releasing a slow breath while giving myself a mental pep talk, I reach into dangerous territory and snatch the letter like it’s a damn viper. After I give myself a mental high five for my bravery, I slide my finger below the lid, pull the note out, and start reading.
In the diaper bag, you’ll find the papers that give up my rights as a mom. I’m signing her over to you… her dad. I also added her birth certificate and anything else you might need to get you by for a few days. I’m sorry to spring this on you, but I can’t be the mom she needs. Her name’s Adaline. Please take care of her, and please forgive me for screwing up your life. This was the only thing I could think to do. If you don’t want her, I added the adoption papers. Do what’s best for you and her… whatever that might be.
Scanning the message a few dozen times, my hands shake as the baby continues to wail from the car seat. Unfortunately, I’m too stunned to move a muscle. What the hell am I supposed to do with a freaking kid?
When the baby’s screams reach a decibel that could break glass, the door across the hall opens to reveal my neighbor, Tasha. Long, red hair that reaches her lower back, quirky purple glasses that frame her toffee colored eyes, and the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen.
Yeah, you heard that right. Sweet.
Which means she’s off limits, and I wouldn’t touch her with a ten-foot pole.
I don’t do sweet. I do dirty and hot. I do sexy and passionate. But never sweet.
“Only the Lies” by Elle Thorpe – EXCERPT
The clinic door banged open. “Did I miss him?” Bree panted, staggering over to join me at the window.
I shook my head. “Not yet. Should be any minute now.”
We both peered through the slatted blinds like the stalkers we were, neither of us bothering to acknowledge Damien, my boss and Bree’s boyfriend, when he struggled through the door a minute later, juggling coffee and breakfast for the three of us.
He dumped his armful of takeaway bags and trays on the reception desk, then leaned back on it, picking up the pile of mail I’d left there.
“Bree,” he said casually, “you do remember that I’m your boyfriend, right? I’m nice. Funny. Somewhat attractive? A lesser man would be devastated by your actions, you know.”
Bree looked over her shoulder and blew him a kiss. “You know you’re my number one, babe. But this guy…”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Buns of steel.”
I dragged my gaze away from the parking lot that was still irritatingly empty of one oversized black ute and the oversized man who drove it. “Buns of steel? Really? You think that’s why we stare out the window each morning, waiting for him to drive in? It has nothing to do with that.”
He snorted. “Oh, really?”
I grinned. “Nope, it has more to do with the biceps, and the abs—”
“The man has a shirt on every morning, Cleo. How have you seen his abs?”
“Oh, we’ve seen them, all right,” Bree confirmed. “You can see them through his shirt. That’s how cut he is. And there was that one time…”
I let my head drop back on my shoulders and made prayer hands while I thanked the big guy upstairs. “The day he ran to work with no shirt on. That blessed day where the heavens opened and birds sang and—”
“Hey!” Bree squealed as Damien covered her eyes and dragged her away from the window. “I’m going to miss the show.”
“How ‘bout I give you a show of my own?”
Damien’s lips brushed Bree’s neck, and suddenly Bree was more interested in her man than being my wing-woman. I groaned good-naturedly when Damien dragged her back toward his office and closed the door.
“Patients will be here in thirty, Damien! I’m not covering for you!”
“Move my first appointment,” he yelled through the closed door. “I’m gonna need at least an hour.”
Bree’s laughter echoed back.

“How was the ride for you?” Dee asks me, grinning. “I saw you holding on for dear life there.”
“It felt like we were going so fast,” I tell him, sitting down next to Renny. “But you were going the speed limit.”
“Check that, did you?” Renny asks, arching a dark brow.
“Yeah, of course I did. I’m a law-abiding citizen.”
They all laugh. Narrowing my green eyes, I look around the table and stare at them each in turn. “What’s so funny? I’m being serious.”
“Nothing,” Renny replies, lips still slightly lifted. “How have we not spoken until today? You’re hilarious.”
“I guess we run in different circles,” I state with a straight face.
“What do you do for work?” Temper asks me, leaning back in his chair.
“I’m a freelance graphic designer,” I tell him. “So I’m my own boss, which is pretty cool. What do you all do?”
“We are business owners and entrepreneurs,” Dee replies, grinning. “And motorcycle enthusiasts, of course.”
“Of course,” I say, laughing softly. “Any businesses I would have heard of?”
“You want us to give away all of our secrets right off the bat?” Renny teases, lifting his coffee cup to his lips and taking a sip. He’s a smooth operator, this Renny, and I knew that from the second he first spoke to me. He has a lot of swag to him—every move is sensual, graceful and…just cool.
“Sure. You can tell me all of your real names while you’re at it,” I throw in, flashing them a sweet smile.
They laugh, so I’m guessing that’s a no.
Renny is a cool guy, and I find myself wanting to press my palm against his stubble to see what it feels like. I’m a very affectionate, touchy-feely type of person, but now is not the time, especially in front of all these men, and this is not the man for me to push boundaries with. He’s a friend, helping me out because I helped one of their women, and nothing more. He’s the last type of man I need to be showing any interest in.
“I guess I can wait until the ride home,” I say nonchalantly.
We eat our food quickly before getting back on the road. This time when I hold on to Renny, I don’t feel as shy or as awkward, in fact, I enjoy being pressed up against him, and even though my mind is with my sister, I allow myself to enjoy the moment.
After all, it’s not every day that you have a good-looking biker escorting you to another state.

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

In a family filled with picturesque butterflies, I’m a moth. Camouflaged. The invisible, nerdy scientist who would rather study water and save the planet than don a dress and mingle in southern society. Unfortunately, having my nose in a book and eating goals for breakfast doesn’t bode well for a social life or my cobweb covered dating sector.
Then I met Grange. He’s a tormenter—an epic bully, but he’s promised to help me in my lackluster areas. He’s been ordered to fulfill service hours at my Aquatic Lab in Cape Cod, if I allow it.
He is bad, the worst. I’m talking wearing prison garb when I met him kind of awful. We all have our demons, but Corrick Granger’s seep into everything and everyone around him. Sure, I’d love his expertise on how to land a guy, but I’m not sure any man is worth dealing with an outcast Navy SEAL who has more issues than a magazine subscription.
One hazy mistake was all it took to ruin my life. Well, one mistake coupled with a chain of bad decisions, and a side of my hot temper. The court doled out an easy community service sentence. Never anything too harsh for a “hero.” I’ll be back at the Teams in six months, easy. I need to keep my cool, put my head down, and follow the rules.
A fiery redhead with something to prove is all that stands between me and my freedom. Tennyson is a maddening combination of know-it-all and knows-nothing. The type of woman who would cut off her own nose to spite her face, and yet when my one mistake snowballs into a life altering, soul-damning error, she’s undeniably there for me.
Even though I don’t deserve it.
Even though I’ve kept secrets.
And despite the fact I have become the monster she knew I would be.
Excerpt:Grange watches my hands as I pull my hair over my shoulder, then his blue eyes lock with mine. “I want to stay.”
Honest. Forward. I gulp. How can I test my hypothesis? How would Sue-Ellen figure out if a man was interested? Would she just go in for a kiss? Flirt? I wish I could text her right now. Squirming under the heat of his stare, I think I might have something. “Will you tell me what to say if I call Grey right now?”
His right brow raises a fraction, but he recovers quickly. I see the flicker of amusement, and I think he knows what I’m doing, but that’s fine. I need a distraction from the path of my thoughts. “Call him up. Tell him to come over so you can finish your date.” Grange balls his fists and his knuckles crack. “Tell him what’s in store for him.”
I open my mouth to ask what exactly he means, but he holds up a hand to silence me.
“You’ll invite him in. Maybe you offer a game of chess, maybe you offer him a drink to take the edge off. He’ll want the drink because you intimidate him, looking like that. He’ll want to kiss you.” Grange stops midstride as he crosses to me. “But he won’t because he won’t be able to stop at a kiss.”
I scoff. “That’s not Grey.”
His expression grows serious. “Obviously.”
I take in a breath, his gaze lights on my mouth. “You’ll sit at the table or on the couch and talk about work. He’ll try to change the subject to something else but neither of you are comfortable talking about personal things. Dark desires, so you’ll think about them and hope he makes a move. After he’s had enough to drink, he’ll touch you.” Grange reaches out, setting a possessive, hot hand on my waist. I feel it between my legs and lose my breath. “You’ll like it.” His gaze is searing, but there’s a playful undercurrent because he knows what he’s doing and I’m crippled by it.
Grange lets his hand fall away. “He won’t have the courage to go any further and you wouldn’t dare act too forward and tell him to keep touching you. It’s against the way you were brought up.” His mouth picks up on one side. “Southern manners.” I hate that my waist feels cold, that I want him to touch me again. My mouth is dry and it seems I had every reason to be nervous about being alone with him. “Leaving you needing more and him not willing to cross that line.”
I blink several times, feeling all of a sudden lightheaded. “You know it all, don’t you?”
The man is bewildering.
Grange lifts one shoulder up and down and backs away, eyes wide and confident.
“What do I know? I’m probably wrong.” Flopping down on the sofa, he is carefree and unaffected. I, on the other hand, feel a deep pit of longing, stealing air from my lungs.
He casually grabs the remote and flips on the television. After several awkward seconds of me staring at him, standing in the same place, he glances my way. “Call him.”
I stomp my foot. “Why can’t you be normal? A good friend?”

Available in print for the first time, and with exclusive bonus content only found in the print version! Fall in love with Sally and Becks all over again.
Adorkable (ah-dor-kuh-bul): Descriptive term meaning to be equal parts dorky and adorable. For reference, see Sally Spitz.
Seventeen-year-old Sally Spitz is done with dating. Or at least, she's done with the horrible blind dates/hookups/sneak attacks her matchmaking bestie, Hooker, sets her up on. There's only so much one geek girl and Gryffindor supporter can take.
Her solution: She needs a fake boyfriend. And fast.
Enter Becks, soccer phenom, all-around hottie, and Sally's best friend practically since birth. When Sally asks Becks to be her F.B.F. (fake boyfriend), Becks is only too happy to be used. He'd do anything for Sal―even if that means giving her PDA lessons in his bedroom, saying she's "more than pretty," and expertly kissing her at parties.
The problem: Sally's been in love with Becks all her life―and he's completely clueless.
This book features two best friends, one special-edition Yoda Snuggie, countless beneath-the-ear kisses, and begs the question:
Who wants a real boyfriend when faking it is so much more fun?
Okay, so I knew there would be some grief. But seriously, was that grin really necessary? Becks was leaning against my locker, all six foot two of him relaxed, wavy black hair brushing the tips of his ears, watching me as I walked toward him down the hall. It wasn't like I could just turn tail and run. I had to get my books for next period, and he was in the way. His eyes, the ones I knew nearly as well as my own, were swimming with mirth, his expression expectant.
Determined to wipe the grin right off his face, I said, "Hey there, Baldwin. How's it going?"
He blanched. "Jeez, Sal. Not this early in the morning, okay?"
I smiled to myself. Baldwin Eugene Charles Kent, aka Becks, had always hated his Christian name. With a name like that even I wanted to hate him--and he was my best friend. Luckily, Becks had escaped that clumsy mouthful with a killer nickname. Born with the last name "Spitz," there'd been no hope for me. From the first grade on, my peers had refused to call me anything else.
