I saw her first.
Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.
I was smitten. But it didnât matter because she chose him and he was my best friend and roommate. Iâd never be able to compete with that, so I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didnât have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us. Now, Iâm screwed. To her singing in the shower every morning, dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living room, I canât stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. Sheâs not mine and never will be, but that doesnât stop me from wanting to push her against a wall and claim her mouth. Sheâs constantly on me for making messes, bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, itâs not fair for the way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good; however, the selfish part of me canât let go. But then the unthinkable happens... When my best friend dies in a motorcycle accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of pushing her away, I pull her closer. Just as we come to terms with our new reality, she finds out sheâs pregnant with his baby. And Iâm left to make the hardest decision of my life... I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, but this book ends with a M A J O R cliffhanger!!!! I read this book quickly, I couldn't put it down. It's the mother of all slow burns, the number one enemies-to-lovers romance novel that I've ever read. I am so excited for the next book, and May 23rd can't come fast enough. Hunter and Lennon just have this undeniable connection that you can feel coming through the pages. You want them together so bad, even if it would hurt someone else. I did tear up a little bit near the middle, where something I did not expect happened. I could feel their pain and knew that things would change for the two of them after that moment. Like I said, May 23rd can't come fast enough. If you are one that hates cliffhangers, then DEFINITELY wait until May 23rd when this book comes out. But, if you think your heart can handle it, then definitely read this book now! View all my reviews ![]() Lorena's: 5 of 5 stars Another tear jerker. I will cry with a cartoon character getting killed, so reading a book where a person dies, really pulls at my heartstrings and makes me ugly cry. At first I was like NOOOOOO when Lennon hooked up with Brandon because HELLO! The title says it all. I felt the torture that Hunter felt seeing his best friend with the woman he was in love with. He wanted to kick himself every day for not jumping at the chance when he had it right at the tip of his fingers when they met. But life goes on and he has to deal with it. Brandon is his best friend and just like the saying goes "bros before .... girls"!! I did not like how Hunter would act with Lennon, I mean seriously! We're grown ups and when she hooked up with Brandon she didn't know they were best friends and she seriously had no clue as to how Hunter felt about her. Hunter was such an ass towards her throughout most of the book and I wanted to jump in a few times and knock some sense into Lennon, like why didn't she try and knock him off his damn socks for being such an ass!! I was actually starting to fall in love with Lennon and Brandon. They were so damn cute together, but Hunter -- man did that boy have a certain charm that you just couldn't stay away from no matter how hard you tried. These authors did such an amazing job with this first book in this duet. And I'm definitely sitting at the edge of my seat, rocking back and forth just waiting for the next book. THIS IS A MUST READ!!! 5 STARS View all my reviews
