Break My Fall by M. Mabie Publication Date: August 28, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance Cover Designer: Jay Aheer, Simply Defined Art Photographer: Wander Aguiar Photography Model: Jamie Walker Synopsis : "The first time I returned to Lancaster was for my brother's funeral.
The second time was for Myra."
For twelve years, I lived alone in my cabin, building a life with my two bare hands. I was free from their rules, their policies, and their lies.
They are a cult.
My father is their leader.
To protect my brother's widow, I'm making her my wife. It's her only way out.
But drawn to the purity in her deep blue eyes and the innocence of her gentle voice, I wonder if I'm not the biggest monster of them all. I have to save her from them and myself. Because every second I spend with this timid woman, I fight the urge to claim her.
Own her.
Make her truly mine.
And I know it's wrong.
I will break her fall—if I don't break her first.

I don't...
I can't....
Yea. I am that speechless after finishing Break My Fall. M. Mabie consumed me with this story. In this world where what was taught wasn't right and what was wrong wasn't. I loved Abe and his quiet intensity. How he broke free from the mold and made something of himself. Learned. Explored. Grew. Lived. But when an unexpected return to the life he left behind brings him face to face with Myra, he knows he can't just walk away. Myra was something else. A product of her upbringing for sure, but also more. When faced with the ability to make choices for herself, she wasn't quite sure what to do. I loved seeing her learn to live. Know that she had options. Could eat what and when she wanted. Wear what she wanted. Feel what she wanted. Yes, there is a religious undertone to the story. No, it's not preachy or overwhelming. It's just enough to make you see the two very different worlds that Myra and Abe live in. Their differences had my emotions were all over the place. Talk about intensely addicting. This book was so different. Wonderfully original. And just when I thought that Abe and Myra were getting somewhere, there comes the twist! I am beside myself needing the next part of this series!
5 Star Review by BrittanyI absolutely LOVED this book! It was my first M. Mabie book and I am definitely a fan after this one. The cover is super hot. I absolutely love that look, and I'm not really one for long hair on a guy. And damn, I would climb him like a tree. I absolutely love the progression of Abe and Myra's relationship. Nice and slow, like a turtle. But it's not boring, it's just perfect for those two. And there is actually no sex in this book (gasp!), but they do fool around a bit. I know that when those two come together, it's going to be great. I didn't really like that there was a lot of religious stuff in there, but I understand that it's a part of the story and can't be avoided. I'm just not religious and I didn't really understand some of the stuff that was mentioned. The ending has me on my knees begging for the next book. October 16th can't come fast enough. I need more of Myra and Abe. More of that love and more of Myra finding herself. Just more of it all. I quickly became addicted to those two characters. I just absolutely love them.
