I'd tried picking up the pieces, but when it came to Cane, it was hard to let go. The way we touched was special and we promised to never forget one another. I had him right in the palm of my hand--thought everything was perfect--but in the blink of an eye, he was gone, leaving me with no choice but to pretend that what we had never existed. CANE She was off-limits to me, but I pushed the boundaries anyway. Now, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, my career slowly but surely slipping out of my grasp, and ghosts from my past returning to make things much more complicated. My love life had never meant so much to me until I met Kandy. After being knocked down and left stranded, any sane man would have stayed far away, but I wasn't sane--not by a long shot. I knew reality was harsh, and the universe had all the odds stacked against us. Despite it all, nothing was going stop me from making her mine again. And if someone tried, they were going to have to go over my dead body first. Download your copy today or read FREE in Kindle Unlimited! He was standing in front of the exit with his hands tucked in his pockets and a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes, like he’d just arrived. I spotted him before he could see me, and my heart sped up several notches the closer I got.Seeing him, reminded me of when I was a little girl and was looking at him for the first time. Though I was hopeless, the sunglasses shielding his eyes and his bad boy demeanor did something to me—whirled me up inside and drove me crazy. He looked around for a moment like he could feel someone watching him, and when he was facing my direction, he put on a warm, welcoming smile, pulling the sunglasses off. He opened his arms and I dragged my suitcase on it’s wheels, rushing into them. I hugged him hard and squeezed so tight. This hug was exactly what I needed. No questions, just outpouring love. My parents would have hounded me first, questioned me later, and maybe hug me after making the same “mistake” twice. And that was a big maybe. But Cane was no mistake. He couldn’t be. Why would he have been brought into my life, if we weren’t meant to be something? It didn’t make any sense. There had to be a reason for this. There had to be happiness at the end of our story.

This book was fantastic! I love Shanora Williams. She is such a talented writer. And I absolutely love this series of hers! There were twists and turns that I didn't see coming and I just could not put this book down. I know that Cane is like double Kandy's age, but I totally think they are a fantastic couple. Cane is just so protective and sweet and only wants what's best for Kandy. Meanwhile, Kandy is away at college, trying her hardest to forget Cane, questioning whether or not what they're doing is right. You have Kelly's psychotic ass trying to keep Kandy and Cane apart, then you have some jealous upperclassmen softball players out to make Kandy's life miserable. And you also have a guy that's desperate to get in her pants, and when that fails, you see a whole different side of him. Cane is so fantastic. I just love him. He's one of my more favorite book boyfriends, that's for sure. If you read Wanting Mr. Cane, book 1, then definitely read this one too! The ending has something that totally comes out of left field, well, two things that come out of left field (heh, softball pun), and still so many questions. I can't wait for book 3!
Lorena's 5 Star ReviewSHANORA what are you doing to me!!!!!! Oh my god, this series is beyond fabulous, I can't -- I just don't even know how to start my review because this series has me completely obsessed. Mr. Cane is totally MINE and ONLY MINE! I have had book boyfriends and book boyfriends that have stayed with me for a long time but I think I Cane has bumped everyone else off and he's become my #1 now (sigh)! Even though Cane and Kandy have so many years between them, I just can't and won't accept anyone else for either one of them. They are the perfect match regardless of their age difference. Cane has been imbedded in Kandy's life since she was a little girl and even though she promised her family that once she moved away for college, she would start a new life and meet new people and date boys her age. Kandy tried to move on and she tried to see if she would hit it off and have chemistry with boys from her school but it was just useless because Cane was never far from her mind and heart. But people love to stir shit up and make it impossible for Kandy, not only are things not going well in school but she has to deal with everything and everyone else when it comes to her feelings for Cane. Cane tried like hell to stay away from Kandy but that's just a hard thing for him to do. As much as these two lovebirds try to stay away from each other they just can't. But there are people and obstacles getting in their way. Can Cane and Kandy survive this love or will everyone else win and tear them apart? I am squealing on how this book ended. Shanora really knows how to make me angry (in a nice way) when I get to the end because I have to wait for the next book. I want...NO, I need the next book like RIGHT NOW! 5 STARS **Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
