Book Blurb:Imogen There is no way we can still love and cherish one and other. When I married Theo Walsh, the rough, bearded townie who worked construction on my family’s summer house, I’d found my happily ever after. That was before the fighting.
Before the jealousy.
Before the infertility.
We’ll be divorced long before death does us part. But to secure my place in the family dynasty, there is just one more hoop I have to jump through. And I need him to do it. Faking the marriage we once thrived in will gut me.
Especially with the secret I’m carrying.
Theo I would have sacrificed for her until the end of time. My job.
My home.
My happiness.
I’d given it all up to marry her. That’s how much I loved Imogen Weston, the daughter to one of the world’s richest families. From the day we met, I’d done nothing but try to live up to the man she expected to be with. And now, I was done. Sure, I’d complete this one final ask of hers, even if it destroyed me. But I’ve made her promise the one thing that might save me. She swore that after she got everything she ever wanted, she wouldn’t look back. I made my wife vow to leave me forever.
4 Star Review by LorenaThis story was heartbreaking because of what this couple was going through. Imogen comes from a wealthy family and her father is ruthless. Doesn't care about his daughter's feelings and/or her knack of intelligence. She is quipped to take over the position that she has worked so hard for in her father's company but he keeps making it hard for her to get it. Imogen falls in love with a towny, a blue collared man that her parents do not approve of. They want her to marry within their social status but she can't help that she fell in love with Theo Walsh, a construction worker. Theo knew what he was getting himself into. He didn't care because he fell for this woman hard. He would do anything for her even take a position with a company that he hated because her father demanded it. Theo put up a lot but he did it because he loved Imogen. When their marriage started falling apart, Imogen had a lot of thinking to do, is it worth her getting that position at her father's company over making her marriage work? These two individuals had a lot to learn and maybe they did so while they were separated. Imogen had to decide if she wanted to keep her good graces with her family and follow all their rules or did she want to lose that position and stay happy with the man she loved? Theo was a very loving man. For as much as he hated her lifestyle, he would tolerate it for her. But the question is, would Imogen be happy in a normal, ordinary life without all the luxuries? When you are born and bred with a spoon in your mouth, I think it's hard to leave that kind of lifestyle for just a plain ordinary one where you're both hard working and make just enough to pay your bills and put food on your table, so I get where Imogen was conflicted. I thought this was a short and sweet book that taught some life lessons. Made me think what would I do if I was put in the same position.
