There is a twenty-seven year age gap between the characters (if I remember correctly, because it's been a minute since I actually finished this book. Dr. Dan is super sweet. I love how he is toward his patients and towards Lauren. His connection to her is almost instantaneous as to when he first saw her. When we find out what's wrong with Lauren, it gets kind of scary, because it's serious. And it actually really relates to something that happened in my life just a week before I read this book, so it was really cool getting to really understand the diagnosis and the treatment for the issue. I give Dr. Dan five stars, and a root beet lollipop for Lauren. Also, root beer is the worst flavor Dum Dum, but I guess somebody has to love it. View all my reviews About K.
