I will never turn down a chance to catch up with the Wilder's. And while Promise Me This is centered on Ian, there is a hearty dose of sibling shenanigans and sentiment all the way through. I adored Harlow. Her resilience and strength. How she walked her own path towards happiness for herself and her daughter. Much to the dismay of her family. And when she finds herself face to face with her childhood best friend after too many years apart, it was like no time had passed at all. But things were a bit different between her and Ian this go round. There was something there simmering just beneath the surface. Something they were both too nervous to admit. But somewhere between dinners and football games and movie nights that itch moved a little closer to the surface until it couldn't be denied. Harlow and Ian's friends to lovers romance is the kind of book I love getting swept away in. Give me a well intentioned meddling family and friendships that feel like home. Give me a delicious slow burn with heart and hope. Give me a love that won't be denied. Gah! I can't wait to see what Karla Sorensen has in store for this ever growing crew next.
