We are all attracted to the forbidden, addicted to the rush we get from reading something naughty. We love to lose ourselves in the fantasy. The powerful lord who sweeps the lady away to his remote estate to ravish her. The cowboy who takes the sassy city girl over his knee to teach her a lesson. The Scottish laird who prefers to make love in the wild. I write those romantic fantasies. There were many good things about this book, but I just felt that a lot of it was abrupt.
The beginning to me was very abrupt. It just seemed that it started too suddenly for my taste, like I was thrown into the story already knowing about characters and setting. I did like the characters a lot. This book was rather short, and with that, I felt that the characters' relationship with each other grew too quickly. I would have liked a little bit more hesitation on Mira's part, though I do love how Paine wouldn't take no for an answer. The sex was H O T. Scorching!! There was quite a bit of sex in this book, which I didn't mind, because it was on fire. Each scene had me squeezing my thighs together and my cheeks turn bright red. I would put this probably in my top ten in regards to sex and how hot it is. Overall, I felt that this book had so much potential, but with it being as short as it is (I finished it in less than a day), it didn't have opportunity to blossom into what it could be.
