Excerpt
At the stadiumâs concession stand, I took a tall stool, putting Georgina and I at eye level since she stood. âSo, why didnât you kiss François?â I asked. âBad breath?â
She gasped into her hand. âMy breath is fine.â
âI meant his. Iâm sure yours is pure relish on a hotdog.â
She made a face. âGross.â
âI happen to love relish,â I said. âBut does François?â
Each time I said François with flourish, she flinched. I didnât care. Something about him bugged meâI just couldnât put my finger on it.
âWe didnât kiss because you interrupted us,â she pointed out.
âSo? If I were in his position, and we both wanted that kiss, I wouldnât let anyone stop me.â
âFrank and I are clicking,â she said, scowling. âThere was even mention of spending time at his summerhouse.â
âHamptons?â
She coughed into her fist. âBoca Raton.â
The idea of Georgina spending a summer with him in Boca Raton was tragic enough that I almost smiled. I got the sense she was playing up the date. If it was so great, why wasnât she sitting here with him? And why was I more relieved than smug about that? âMeanwhile, Justin and I will be clamming in Montauk.â
âYou two should really just make it official and announce your love to the world.â
âBut then I wouldnât get to flirt with pretty girls.â
âFor someone who pretends to have as much game as you,â she said, âI still havenât seen you successfully flirt with any girls since Iâve known you.â
I smirked. âHow do you know Iâm not flirting with you right now?â
![]() Brittany's rating: 4 of 5 stars I know the original title of this was "The Bad Boy Issue", and I really wish she would have kept that as the title, because I don't feel as if the current one fits this book at all. Regardless, I did enjoy this book. It wasn't my favorite book by Jessica Hawkins, but it was a good read. I liked that her job was a consultant and felt that was really unique in the world of romance novels. I like Sebastian and Georgina together. I love that it was an enemies-to-lovers romance. They truly couldn't stand each other and they slowly started to fall for each other and it was beautiful and magical. View all my reviews
