This new spin off of Lexi Blake's Masters & Mercenaries series was dangerous, steamy and nonstop from the get go. Plus, seeing Big Tag and the rest of the McKay-Taggart team is always a good time. I really liked Noelle. She was smart and determined not to let her accident define her. And she dared anyone else to do the same. Even Hutch. I loved getting to know him. To see him on the other side of all that had happened to him. Strong and finally feeling something. And while their connection may have started as a job, it quickly became much more for both of them. Despite all the questions surrounding what was going on at Noelle's job, Hutch was able to get her to let go. Shed the control she needed and kept tightly clutched. He saw her, not for her scars, but for her strength and intelligence. And in the midst of their budding relationship was this investigation that only got more complicated at every turn. It was all Hutch and Noelle could do to stay one step ahead of the danger. Talk about intense. Especially as a new player entered the game. Whew! I feel like I am still catching my breath after the showdown that made my stomach drop. And that ending! What an awesome set up for what is coming next in this series. Excerpt “I’ve spent a lot of my evening researching your boss, and she’s dangerous. I think her corporate structure is sketchy, too. I think there’s a good chance she’s under some kind of investigation, and you’re going to get dragged into it. Is there any way you could take a couple of weeks off?” About Lexi Blake ![]()
