Lies. Betrayal. Deceit.

Carter knows them all too well. His whole life was based on them. He decided long ago that his life would be on his own terms. No one would dictate his future, since he'd had no control over his past.

Desire. Lust. Love.

Julia is the bosses' daughter. She's everything that Carter wants, and nothing that he thinks he needs. She's got plans of her own, and Carter is one of them.

Both determined to control their own paths, can she show him what his future could be like if he just lets go, or will he send her BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD?

I've been a fan of L.L. Collins since she brought Dr. Ben and then Devin into my world. So I knew, without reading the synopsis, that this book was going to be something I couldn't put down and I was right. Back to the Drawing Board pulled me right in. The story line was original and well thought out. That prologue both gripped and gutted me. I wasn't expecting things to start off that way but it truly was the catalyst for everything else that happened in the book.

I liked Carter, a lot. He was a man on a mission, to land the job he always wanted. All the pieces were in place until the daughter of the man who has the ability to make or break his career walks in. Julia stunned him stupid and I loved it AND Julia. That woman was brilliantly talented and loyal to who and what she cared about. Especially her family and friends. I enjoyed her pursuit of Carter. She knew when to push and when to back off with her advances. Her games were fun and just the thing Carter needed to pull him out of his shell. As much as he tried to fight it, he couldn't deny how baldy he wanted Julia. When they finally gave in it was well worth the wait. Together Carter and Julia were the best versions of themselves; happy, light, carefree, stronger more passionate...But when a secret is revealed things really spiral out of control. Tough decisions have to be made, and made they were.

I enjoyed the change this book took towards the end. Carter's true colors really came out and when he had his big moment with Julia's parents I wanted to give him a fist bump. I think this quote sums up the progression of Julia and Carter's relationship perfectly

"Because love not only shows up, it stands up. This is me, standing up for you."

Can you say swoon? L.L Collins gave me all the things I've come to know and love from her. There was laughter, a few twists and some steam all wrapped up in a sweet love story. And a great cast of secondary characters. A few of my favorites were Colby, Tracey, and Johnny. I can't leave out Carter's parents, Blake and Liane, either (you may remember them from Collins' Twisted series- but you don't have to read that one to follow this book). I loved the relationship Carter had with both of his parents and his siblings. Everyone played a big role somewhere along the way in the development of Carter and Julia's relationship. I am really hoping for more from this crew- a story for Johnny- please, he needs some happy!
