A missed first encounter…

Colliding with a second chance…

On the heels of graduating college and trying to cope with her mother’s death, Emily Cooper moves to New York City for a fresh start.

While harboring secrets of his own, Dillon Parker takes care of Emily through her grief. Knowing he can’t live without her by his side, he’s sweet, thoughtful, and everything Emily has ever wanted in a man.

Until she meets Gavin Blake—a rich and notorious playboy who is dangerously sexy and charming as hell. Emily tries to deny the instant connection she feels, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome is not inclined to let go so easily. Recovering from his own painful past, Gavin will stop at nothing to win Emily over.

This unexpected encounter compels Emily to question her decisions, forcing her to make a choice that will destroy friendships, shatter hearts, and forever change her life.

How do you keep existing when your heart is so splintered, so completely torn to shreds, your pulse is fading?

You’re… broken. How do you move forward when every breath is nothing more than a constant ache? Living becomes an insidious reminder that you threw away the single largest part of yourself. Your… soul. No amount of distraction can pull you from the torture of losing your… life.

Now that Emily Cooper has walked away from her first love, she finds herself running toward her only love. Unraveling fast, but clinging to hope, Emily risks all she has left on the man that has consumed her every thought and dream since the day they met. Will Gavin take her back? And if so, will their reunion be a collision of two hearts destined to complete one another and rekindle a love that knew no boundaries? Or will scars from their past rip open, tearing slowly at what each of them was meant to be? Can fate, the ultimate game changer, mend the shattered road it laid out from the start?

Only time will tell…

Tick-Tock…

4.5 Star Series Review by Ashley

Whenever I get asked who my book boyfriend is, I always- ALWAYS say the one and only Gavin Blake. I met him over 2 years ago- long before Gail McHugh got picked up by Atria books and exploded all over the book world.  In that time, no one has been able to knock him from the top of my list (though some have tried, very hard). So I wanted to go back and do something I haven't done in years, mostly because of time...re-read!

All I can say is wow! There were so many little details I didn't remember about my favorite leading man. But as I read Collide then Pulse, the one thing that remained true was how shmexy Gavin is because of how much he loved Emily. It was all consuming and heartbreaking and beautiful and made me want a bottle of wine. It was the small, quiet moments between them that strengthened and solidified their love as timeless.

Now that Emily Cooper- I went back and forth on my feelings for her. I felt for her, her situation was sad and Dillon used it to his advantage (the big jerk). Here was this shy, sweet woman who had been through hell and back and was just getting back to some sort of normal when Gavin had to come in and sweep her off her feet. And thank goodness for that- because when Dillon showed his true colors I wanted to jump into my kindle and give him a karate chop!

There was so much back and forth between Gavin and Emily that my heart couldn't take the angst at times. They so obviously belonged together. But it wasn't all drama and tears. There were a lot of sweet and funny moments along the way. And those two really knew how to steam up the sheets, and the shower and the wall.....When Emily finally, and I mean FINALLY came to her senses and went after her man I let out a little cheer of relief. Just as things were looking up for the couple, life throws them both a curve ball. This one thing becomes the catalyst for both of their actions through the rest of the series. That one scene....OMG- be ready because even though I knew it was coming, it still got to me. Can you say ugliest of the ugly cries? But that ending...swoon my socks off.

Gail McHugh effectively ruined all other book boyfriends for me. I knew there was a reason Gavin was and still is my ultimate book boyfriend. The way he loves Emily and the rest of his family. His words. His actions. His heart. His dimples....I will say this...yes, the books are expensive and yes, you have to read them both, in order. However, they're worth every single penny and then some. There is no shortage of emotions as you read these books. You will laugh, want to throw something, groan in frustration, blush and sigh. You will want to be Emily. But please remember, GAVIN IS MINE!
