Pippa The girl you all know as damaged. Quiet. Broken. She doesn’t fit in. Nothing in her world feels right. She’s trapped in a spiral of darkness that seem to be consuming her day by day, until she sees nothing but an empty, black hole. Her world is a dark place she can’t escape. She has people around her who matter. Who love her. But it’s not enough. Not enough to break her out of the bitter despair she lives in. UNTIL TYKE. He knows pain. He knows darkness. He’s sweet. He’s kind. But most of all… He understands her. Combining their demons doesn’t seem like the best plan. Everyone is against them. He deserves better. She deserves better. They’ll never work. They’re too broken. Too damaged. It’s a destructive combination that will only end in heartbreak. He’s a biker. She’s a broken angel. But in their desolation, they find peace. WITH EACH OTHER. Review by Amanda Aaaaaah how sad to say goodbye to the men we and women we have come to know and love in the Jokers Wrath MC Series. Desolation is book number 4 in the series and follows Tyke and his broken angel, Pippa. We got to see glimpses of the pain and suffering Pippa had endured while she was a slave for Artereaux, and to say that the damage inflicted on her was lasting and horrific would be an understatement. We are taken back in time to see the hell on earth she endured as she worked the tobacco field. In a pleasing twist in the tale, we are also shown the relationship she develops with Rainer - her co-captive. The two are forced to work together and forged a really beautiful bond. However, Rainer and Pippa are separated and once she is rescued by the Jokers Wrath boys she gives up hope that she will ever find Rainer again. As Pippa becomes reintegrated into society she finds herself becoming close to Tyke. Tyke is still recovering from massive injuries incurred as a result of a motorbike accident. He has started therapy and treatment though and is becoming more agile and moving around. The relationship between Pippa and Tyke is one that makes your heart flutter - you know they both want more with each other, but at the same time, he feels unworthy and she is not someone that will easily put herself into a situation where she feels she may be rejected. They both dance around their feelings for much of the book - and this of course added to the angst and drama. Tyke has also found himself somewhat of a girlfriend, she is not his old lady, but she makes it very clear to all and sundry that her and Tyke are together. This of course forces Pippa to become even more internalized and hurt - and although Tyke would like nothing more than to make Pippa his, he also knows he is fractured and damaged. As usual the book is action packed and will leave your heart palpitating and you yearning for more. Will Pippa and Tyke get their happily ever after? Will Pippa finally be able to stand up and claim what she wants? Will Tyke be willing to lay his heart and soul bare finally?
