Hauling Ashe by L.B. Dunbar

Tucker Ashford has forgotten who he was. The former rock star – Tucker Ashe – turned social media sensation knows exactly where life took a U-turn. Problem is, he’s convinced it’s too late to circle back. When he needs a ride from Chicago to California for his daughter’s wedding, an eight-state journey with a quirky woman is more than he bargained for, but quite possibly the chance he needs to rewind time.

Mae Fox is ready to discover who she is. After two decades of marriage (gone wrong), motherhood (still going), and a not-so-small business (going quite well), she’s looking for the adventure of a lifetime – alone. However, her well-planned escape of come-what-may down the Mother Road is slightly detoured when she’s asked to haul a grumpy silver fox across the country.

The highway is a melody of cheesy sight-seeing stops, nostalgic locations, and a playlist that rocks as two lonely hearts take a road trip down the path of second chances and the possibility of love over forty.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

I love me a good road trip romance. Make it a second chance for both characters to have the love they always should've and it is a recipe to let the good times roll.

I absolutely adored Mae. Her adventurous spirit. Her love of history. How she was taking her life back and not even a hot grump was going to stand in her way. She took her time. Savored the road and landmarks and forgotten byways. And somewhere along the miles, found her heart in Tucker.

Not going to lie, it took me a bit to warm up to that man and his brood. But the more I learned about him and all he had gone through, all he sacrificed, the more I rooted for him. To smile. To laugh. To let go and enjoy the simple things.

I loved seeing these two let their guards down and just be themselves. No pretenses. No promises. They knew their time was limited and were making the most of it. Until those dreaded things called feelings came out of nowhere and threw a fork in their proverbial road.

Full of unexpected turns and even wilder connections (that had me grinning from ear to ear), Hauling Ashe was a joy with every turn of the page. Mae and Tucker's grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity road trip romance (with a rockin' playlist) was sexy and sweet and oh so satisfying.

About the Author

I’ve been accused of having an over-active imagination. To my benefit, this imagination has created over twenty novels, including the creation of a small-town world (Sensations Collection), rock star mayhem (Legendary Rock Star series), MMA chaos (Paradise Stories), rom-com for the over forty (The Sex Education of M.E.), and a suspenseful island for redemption (The Island Duet). My alter ego, elda lore, creates magical romance through mythological retellings (Modern Descendants). My life revolves around a deep love of reading about fairy tales, medieval knights, regency debauchery, and strong alpha males. I love a deep belly laugh, a strong hug, and an occasional margarita. My other loves include being mother to four grown children and wife to the one and only.
