Hero Unbound is just the book I needed. Janie Crouch had me hooked and rooting for Eva from the start. My heart went out to Eva. She had lost so much. Nothing more than her sense of self at the hands of her ex. I liked that she found a safe place to run to. A place that welcomed her and accepted her as one of their own. Even Theo, the man who didn't trust easily. There was no denying the sparks between Eva and Theo. The connection was real and strong and would not be denied. But she has secrets and when her past comes barreling into her now, the steady ground she had found crumbled. And it was one phrase that set off the warning bells for Theo.... Whew! Talk about intense. My pulse was pounding the final third as everything played out. Eva and Theo's unlikely romance is the type of book I love to get lost in. It was full of secrets and suspense. Steam and sacrifice. And a bad guy you can't help but love to hate (he just made it so easy). And that ending...it left me with a happy, satisfied smile on my face and eager to get back to Oak Creek for more of the Linear Tactical family.
