Grand Rapids was my saving grace. My new job and my best friend kept me grounded, and far away from my past.

This was my new life.

And I was safe.

But then I was transferred to Miami where I began working with Mitch Conklin, the site manager. He was sexy as sin, and irritating as hell. He drove me crazy, but I couldn’t deny the chemistry. He was begging for me to take his bait, and I wanted to…

Until he found me.

My heart raced…

My palms began to sweat…

And the air was stolen from my lungs.

This was my life.

And no one was safe

If you're like me then you devoured Conklin's Trilogy and fell hard for the Conklin men. I was super excited when I heard that Brooke Page would be releasing another book with some of the same characters that I had fell for in that series. Side bar- you don't have to have read the earlier books to be captivated by this story. I was most surprised by how different this book was from her earlier work. Yes, there is still the same charm, bit of mystery and intermittent humor but here there is an unyielding sense of something wicked this way comes.

I loved getting to know Jamie. She has lived quite the un-chamred life but has managed to make something of herself. Jamie has a thriving career and the best friends money can't buy in Becca and Nathan. I really liked her relationship with Nathan. It was light, easy and rooted in unconditional love. She has moved on from the troubles in her past and is settling into the future that she wants. Too bad the past won't leave her alone. She thought she was safe but somehow she has been found and she has no clue what to do about the threats coming her way. But the one thing she can't control is her growing feelings for Mitch. Oh Mitch, the sweet, misunderstood youngest Conklin brother. He is a free spirit with a heart of gold. I loved that Jamie stepped up and in to help him out. It showed a sweeter side to her take no prisoners attitude that she showed the rest of the world. Mitch knows that he may be in just over his head with Jamie but is doing everything he can to win her over. That date...hello swoon. It was just what they needed.

What happens next blew my mind! I wasn't expecting that at all. HOLY CLIFFHANGER (there you've been warned). BUT I promise that you will not only love this story but be itching to know what happens next. Hide was extremely well written. The balance Brooke Page created between the humor, sweetness and mystery kept me flipping the pages until there were no more. GAH! I need to know what happens and soon!

This book was so freaking intense and has left me breathless. People get hurt, lives are threatened, it's like a roller coaster . I mean, this book has left me baffled. This book's intensity took me to a whole new level when it comes to reading this genre. I just found myself hooked from beginning to end and these types of books are the best because you know that they are just that good.

Mitch is the youngest Conklin brother. He is arrogant, self-centered and all he cares about is himself. He never takes a woman seriously but the one thing he is good at is his job. He tends to flirt with Jamie non-stop and she is just plain irritated by him. But the more he flirts and the more time she tends to spend with him, she starts realizing that Mitch really isn't that bad of a person as she assumed he was. He can be annoying and irritating but deep down inside he knows how to make her laugh and entertain her. He has won her over.

Jamie has been hiding and by hiding I mean, she's hiding from her past. She throws all her time to her work and tries to keep all men at a distance because she's afraid that her past will come back and continue tormenting her. True to her word, she starts receiving letters making her more nervous knowing that he has found her and is keeping an eye on her.

Mitch and Jamie take on a relationship even though she's afraid that he might get hurt because of her. But then she realized that she can't hide forever. She is determined to confront her past if it comes down to that and she wants to make whatever it is that she has with Mitch work because he's the first guy in a long time to make her feel again.

Mitch and Jamie are damn good together and I am so proud of her. She has finally found the courage to stand up for what she wants and is not afraid to confront this shadow that has been tormenting her for so long. But there were consequences that came along with her bravery and now we have to wait for the next installment to find out what in the world is going to happen with Jamie and Mitch.

This book really was worth my time to read -- 5 stars all the way!
