![]() I met the love of my life at ten years old. At sixteen, I gave him my heart. Three years later he was drafted to the NHL and moved across the country. Five years after, he’s back. And he’s meeting his daughter for the first time. I still hate him. Even if my heart says that’s a lie. *** At ten years old, she changed my life. At sixteen, I told her I loved her. Three years after, I left and broke her heart. Five years later, I’m coming back home to the surprise of my life. I hate her for it. Even though my brain says this is all my fault. 5 Heart Review by Lorena Isla and Cillian became great friends when they met at camp and every year she would go with her father and she would give Cillian pointers on what he should work on to get better. Til one day, at the age of 16, he asks Isla on a date and poof, from that point on, they become inseparable. At the age of 19 they decide to move in together and their romance is sizzling hot throughout their youthful romance. Once Cillian makes the draft into the NHL and it happens to be a team that's pretty much on the other side of the country, their relationship starts suffering because Cillian starts straying. Cillian and Isla fight about it but it's no use, he does the inevitable and shatters Isla's heart. They end up going their separate ways and it takes them 5 years to see each other again, with that said ... Cillian gets the surprise of his life when he finds out he's a father. Now it's time to work his magic to prove to Isla that he can be a great dad to their daughter Sadie and maybe she can also see that he's no longer an immature boy and now he's a grown man who is after her heart again, but this time he's in it forever! Oh my little heart. I couldn't take it -- Isla was such a spitfire and I loved her sassiness. She might also have had her breaking points, but who doesn't! Cillian really did a number on her and he deserved what he got for the roll he played in her life. This is the first book I read from Alison Rhymes and now I feel like I am addicted to her words! About the Author Alison lives somewhere in the shadow of a Pacific Northwest Mountain, bordered by the Puget Sound, and not too far from the country roads she grew up on.
When she’s not reading, she can be found avidly reading, traveling with youthful wanderlust, or slowly turning the inside of her home into her own personal houseplant jungle.
