![]() Maxwell ‘Maxie’ Oliver wasn’t looking for trouble. She would have rather remained oblivious. Now that she has information she doesn’t want, a missing coworker, and a scandal on the horizon, Maxie doesn’t think she can remain quiet. But being a whistleblower comes at a high price, and Maxie isn’t willing to risk her life. Kit Sexton knows the lengths some people will go to in order to line their pockets. So, when Maxie comes to him, looking for someone to keep her safe, he’s determined to see that she stays that way. Especially when he can’t get the gorgeous woman who took his breath away out of his mind. But the stakes are high, and the criminals are ruthless. Kit is going to have to stay focused if he wants to make sure that Maxie isn’t permanently silenced. 3.5 Heart Review by Ashley There is just something about the Harper Security Ops team that I can not stay away from. And Silenced, the latest addition, the steam and suspense continued. Plus catching up with the rest of the team is always a treat. When Maxie found herself caught in the middle of a scandal, it was Kit who helped her, after she helped herself. But it was the fear of what might come next that made her keep him close. It didn't hurt that he was a good guy and easy on the eyes. But it was the way he soothed her nerves and calmed her fears and encouraged her dreams that allowed her to open up and let him in. Nothing like a little forced proximity and danger to bring true feelings to the surface. I have to admit that there were a few times I found myself wanting more of the connection between Maxie and Kit, there was no denying that they were it for each other. And just when they thought they had found some new sense of normal, everything took a turn. My heart was pumping as everything played out in seemingly slow motion. Whew! Talk about a wild and twisted ride. I can't wait to see what A.K. Evans has in store for this team next. About the Author A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over forty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.
Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars! When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.
