4.5 Star Review by Ashley Wow. I mean seriously wow. This book had so much going on that I don't even know where to start. Sinful Longing is the third book in the Sinful Nights series that focuses on the Sloan family. While it can be read as a stand alone there are some overlapping events so I strongly suggest reading the others before this one. This is Colin's book and the one I've been waiting for, especially since the bomb that was dropped at the end of the previous book. I liked Colin- he was all man and had a heart of gold. Beneath his colorful tattoos and gorgeous face was a man who had suffered tremendously in his life. The loss of his father and situation with his mother only contributed to the downward spiral his life took. Thankfully, he had the inner strength and help of his siblings to turn his life around. Hearing all that he put himself needlessly through made my gut clench. But it also made my heart happy to see just how far he had come. However, there was one thing he was still missing, his missing piece, one Elle Mariano. This woman stole the show for me. She is beautiful, giving, and just guarded enough to want to make me root for Colin to break down her walls. And break them down he did. It was the small moments between them that became so much more. From sharing his love of video games and math with the kids at the center to fun dates Colin played his cards just right. But when someone unexpected seeks her help, and she learns a pretty big secret, she becomes torn. Her loyalties are split between the person who needs her help and the man who is worming his way into her heart. This secret, well if you read the other books in the series, you know what it is...if you didn't, it will leave you with your jaw on the floor. This secret becomes the catalyst that the Sloan's need to move forward with all the mystery surrounding what is going on with their mother's case. WOW! Talk about twisted. What I loved about this turn was how all of the Sloan siblings, Shannon, Michael and Colin rallied and embraced the newest change in their life. They proved once again how big their hearts were as they opened their lives to the new addition. The new addition to the Sloan clan comes with his own baggage- and it puts everyone at risk, especially Elle. I loved seeing Colin's protective side come out, not just for Elle but for her son too. Sinful Longing took me all over the map. There was humor and drama, sweetness and steam, friends and family, mystery and math, fundraisers and roller derby. Oh and I can't forget Vegas and love. This book has sealed Sinful Nights as my favorite of Lauren Blakely's series' (sorry Clay and Julia). All the twists and turns and the way one story bleeds into the next has me waiting, not so patiently, I might add for the next installment in this series.
