Top Tip: Don’t put out an online ad offering your services as a fake date. Someone will take you up on it. And it won’t just be for one night. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I ended up being Mason Jackson’s fake girlfriend. He didn’t even want me to be. No—his sister was solely responsible for me being his date for his ten-year high school reunion. Now, she’s responsible for telling his parents our relationship is real. We have no choice. We have to act like this isn’t all a mistake, like it’s not all fake, like we’re totally, completely, utterly, head-over-heels in love with each other. Simple, right? Wrong. 3 Heart Review by Ashley Welp, I finally did it. The Accidental Girlfriend popped my proverbial Emma Hart cherry. And for me, the book was a bit of a mixed bag. It was witty and sweet and so dang funny. That being said, I found the humor a little forced. Almost like what ridiculous thing can I make her say next. And some of the dialogue, especially from Mason, was repetitive. There was something so endearing about Lauren that I couldn't help but like her. She spoke her mind no matter the subject. And what she was more than sure about was that she didn't want a relationship. Even with the super fun and charming Mason. How these two met was unconventional but totally fitting for them. As hard as they tried to fight it, there was no denying the chemistry between them. Both Lauren and Mason were reluctant to admit their feelings to themselves, let alone the other. It was a super slow burn with loads of sexual tension. And when they finally gave in...whew! hot!! But their secret was bound to come out, and when it did, all bets were off. A meddling sister, an awesome girl gang, a jealous ex and a sassy old lady added to the overall charm of The Accidental Girlfriend. While I feel like there could've been more time with Lauren and Mason actually together, I liked the way things played out. Emma Hart's writing was light and easy with no major drama but a whole lot of laughter. I have not read the novel yet, but I love reading. I use my spare time in reading different kind of novels like romance, thriller, mystery or even horror. I bought an e-book reader, but I still prefer reading a novel book bounded. I'm not sure why, but smelling the pages adds a nostalgic feeling in reading a novel. When I read, it takes me to a different world, it's as if I am the person that I am reading.
