Once upon a time she became mine. Mine to protect.
I have it all.
A loving husband who adores me.
A future full of possibilities.
A perfect fairytale nothing can break.
Until a ghost from my past sweeps in and shatters my world.
A new serial killer is on the loose.
And he won’t rest until he gets what he wants.
Once again, I’m part of a twisted game the monster is playing.
And the only way I can survive in it?
Trust a man who I once vowed to hate and then promised to love till my last breath.
3 Heart Review by Ashley
The Land Where Sinners Love is my first book from V.F. Mason and I think it should've been my second because I was for sure missing something. There is a big backstory between Phoenix and Zach that I missed (and is often alluded to) that made it a bit hard to follow at times.
That being said- wow! I mean wow! Talk about twisted and dark. The case Phoenix was working on brought her back to the place where her nightmares were made. It stirred up old feelings for both her and Zach and left them both questioning where everything stood.
While there was no denying the bond between Zach and Phoenix, I liked that they still worked on them. Took time for themselves and each other. Communicated. And gave each other a safe place to lay their worries and fears. Plus seeing them in parent mode, not just work mode, only added to their relatability.
The team was trying to beat the clock and outwit the person behind the deadly game that had too many players involved had my pulse pounding. And just when I thought it was all wrapped up and Phoenix and Zach could finally move on...another twist came to shake things up all over again. Love and hate, revenge and redemption all made an appearance in this love story that is unlike any I've read before.
