“I need a ride,” I said to a sexy stranger on a Harley. Three hours later? A six-foot-tall Marilyn Monroe was officiating our Vegas wedding at the Happy Chapel. But it’s not love—it’s business—a marriage pact made out of desperation so my career doesn’t go up in flames. Sure, Flynn Winslow is a hot, broody, mysterious man that women all over the globe would sell their souls to land for real, but I have my eyes on the prize and our marriage arrangement will end in three months with no strings attached. Right? Or will it all go out the window when I have to move in with Mr. Mysterious and our fake marriage starts to feel remarkably real? I wish it were as easy as telling myself, Do not fall in love with your fake husband, Daisy, but apparently, when feelings get involved, not everything that happens in Vegas knows how to stay in Vegas. 4 Heart Review by Ashley The Pact is the Max Monroe writing that I love and adore. Hilarious. Heated. Heartfelt. Add the mischievous Winslow brothers and a trip to Vegas to the mix and I knew I was in for a real treat. I loved that Daisy was a bit of a hot mess. Her anxiety definitely got the best of her at times. But her enthusiasm and exuberance over life was just so refreshing. And when she finds herself in the predicament of all pickles, she somehow finds herself on the back of Flynn Winslow's motorcycle. If ever there was a definition of strong silent type, Flynn it is. He was reserved but also saw things that others didn't because he took the time to observe and listen to what wasn't being said. A man of few words, but when he did speak, what he said really packed a punch. Like the deal he made with Daisy. What neither bet on was having to spend time together. And oh how the plans changed when real feelings started to get involved. I loved how he saw Daisy. Beneath the fidgeting hands to the real fear underneath and knew how to get her to share what the real things bothering her. I was nervous with anticipation as the countdown to the big day approached. Everything was hanging in the balance and nerves were off the charts. Oh my happy heart....the banter, the steam, the way the Winslow clan welcomed Daisy with open arms (and raised voices), the freaking text chains!! Flynn and Daisy's opposites attract, marriage of convenience romance was thoroughly satisfying and I never wanted it to end.
