![]() His partner's most trusted informant is his only hope...and his only weakness. When Detective Liam Hollister is assigned to an assault-turned-murder, he brings his signature three "C"s: control, calm, and composure. The "C" he wasn't counting on? His partner's informant, Carmen Desoto, who's not only the key to unlocking his case. The sexy, sharp-tongued nurse is the only person who's ever gotten under Liam's skin. Driven him crazy. Made him want the one thing he can't have. And now they have to go undercover together to catch a killer. Liam knows he must keep Carmen at a distance, no matter how hard it is to resist. But when the scheme they uncover puts them directly in danger, distance isn't an option. They'll have to fight together if they want to make it out alive. **** The Saint is the fifth standalone in the Intelligence Unit series, set in the shared world of Remington. Full of fast-paced action and smokin' hot romance, this forbidden lovers, frenemies to lovers, protector hero medical romantic suspense will have you swooning and sweating. No cheating, no cliffhangers, all hard-fought HEA. 3.5 Heart Review by Ashley The Saint is my first read from Kimberly Kincaid and I was ready for it after reading the blurb. And the opening...whoa! What a way to dive right in. I liked that Carmen had lived a life with trials and tribulations and pulled herself up and out of it. And somehow found herself in the middle of a deep and twisted plot. Thankfully she knew some good guys she could trust. Even if it did take a while for her to get there with Liam. Their mutual attraction and disastrous encounter from years ago only complicated matters more. I will say that even though who was behind everything was revealed fairly early on, there were still a lot of pieces to get into place to bring them down the right way. And in the middle of all the danger and chaos was this chemistry and pull between two people who couldn't be more different if they tried. The push and pull, the will they or won't they, the complicated past...all of it made Carmen and Liam's unlikely romance that much more compelling. These two were sarcastic and steamy while also being real and raw. And that ending...it was the happy they deserved. About the Author ![]() USA Today best-selling author Kimberly Kincaid writes romantic suspense that sizzles and contemporary romance with heart and heat. Equal parts action and emotion, her firefighters and first responders always save the day. When she's not finding adventure with her husband, three teens, and naughty Whippets, Olive, Daisy, and Jack, she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly's series include Remington Medical, Station Seventeen, the Line series, Cross Creek, and her brand-new Intelligence Unit series. All titles stand alone for easy reading.
