Reid Travers knows how to win. Becoming Motocross royalty was always the plan, and he was willing to make sacrifices along the way to reach his goal. Sacrifices he thought he could live with until he returned to the small town where he grew up and learned to ride, and, more importantly, where he fell in love.

When fate sends Nora Bennett back into his life, he takes one look at her and realizes that he made a huge mistake breaking up with her seven years ago. Now, he'll do whatever it takes to win her back. As Reid sets out to earn her forgiveness and convince her that the guy she's dating is not the one for her, Nora finds herself torn between what her head is telling her and what her heart wants.

It's a race he never expected to be in, for a girl he can't stand to lose again.

Four Star Review by Ashley

I've been sitting on this book for a bit but had heard nothing but great things so I finally jumped in. Throttled is my first book from Elizabeth Lee but it most certainly won't be the last. Her writing was fast-paced and full of humor and heart. I was hooked from the first page and could not put this one down.

I went back and forth on my feelings for Nora. I admired her grit and determination but it still took me a bit to connect to her. But as more of her past and personality is revealed, I could help but fall for her. While life hasn't been necessarily kind to her, it hasn't been awful to her either. She was simply stuck. Stuck in a job and relationship she didn't really love. It takes a blast from the past, Reid Travers riding back into town to jump start her. Reid brings out a side to her that has been missing since he rode out her life a decade ago to chase his dreams.

Oh that Reid Travers, successful, sexy as sin and sweet as a peach. When he left his small town to chase his dream, he left his heart behind. He finds himself thinking of Nora often and now that he is back in her orbit, it is game on. He wants her with a passion he can't deny but there is years worth of pain and hurt and anger and frustration to work though. His patience with Nora when all he wanted to do was push full steam ahead is what proved how much he was willing to do whatever it took to make it work. And for the long haul this time.

I loved seeing the transition from strangers to friends and back to lovers. They both shed their fears and lived in the moment instead of the past. It was the small moments, the rides, the desserts the places they saw with new eyes. They picked up almost where they left off. When Nora reveals her own secret from their time apart, it could've shattered what they had been building but it didn't. Their foundation was stronger this time. But when someone threatens their happiness in the most underhanded way imaginable, my stomach was in my throat as I waited to see what would happen.

Throttled was a great second chance love story that left me with a big smile on my face. Reid and Nora's journey to get there was full of jumps and turns. This book was also a great set up for the rest of the series. The whole cast of characters, from Brett to Georgia and Hoyt had strong personalities that contributed a lot to the story. Whether it was encouragement, a slap of reality or good-natured ribbing, it made an impact. I can't wait to see what Elizabeth has in store for everyone moving forward (especially Georgia).

About the Author

Picture
Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.
