![]() A powerful contemporary romance set in the fast-moving world of international rugby. When your world crashes down When they all say you’re out When your body is broken I will rise. Feeling abandoned and betrayed by those closest to him, he fights to restart his life. Maybe there’s someone out there who can help him. Maybe he can find his way back toward the light. Maybe … not. Dr. Anna Scott might be the one person who can help Nick, but she has her own secrets. And when Nick’s past comes back to haunt them both, the enigmatic doctor is more vulnerable than she seems. Broken and betrayed, the struggle to survive seems intolerable. Who will give in, and who will rise, undefeated? 4 Star Review by Ashley Wowee! I think my heart is still racing after finishing my first book from Jane Harvey-Berrick and Stuart Reardon. I mean if that cover didn't pull you in, then the first few pages certainly did. I felt for Nick. I got his anger and fear. I lived it myself when injury struck. It's an athlete's worst nightmare. But the body is an amazing thing it can bounce back. However, the head takes a little longer to wrap its head around his new reality. Enter Dr. Scott, Anna Scott. Oh how I liked her. She was sassy and confident in her work. She was determined to make a name for herself doing what she loved, and was good at. Healing the wounds that couldn't be seen. The spark was there the first time they met, but there's this little thing called ethics that kept them for acting on their attraction. When life happened, and blew up Nick's world, it's Anna who helps him settle himself. They form a sort of friendship that calms and excites them both. When fate, destiny, the universe- whatever you want to call it- throws them back into each others world, things get a little fuzzy. Lines are blurred then crossed then obliterated. Nick was on top of the world. He had a woman he loved, he was at the precipice of the moment he'd been waiting his entire career for. And then the bottom dropped, Anna and Nick's secret was discovered. Consequences. There were lots. The fall out was wide spread and left both Nick and Anna struggling to find their footing once again. Pain on top of heartache and longing. Geez this book put my heart, through the ringer. Anna and Nick's too. But they were fighters, not to be denied. They they fought, the survived, they won. I loved the work Nick put in. How he let his words speak for him when his actions couldn't. Stuart Reardon and Jane Harvey-Berrick have tapped into something really special with Undefeated. The whole team of characters they created made an impact and helped to really round things out. Fingers crossed they'll be writing together again!
