Review by Amanda This is book number 1 in Dawn Martens new MC Series, Angel Warriors MC Trilogy. It is important for the reader to note that each book is only approximately 50 000 words. The book ends on a cliffhanger - and it is a MAJOR one! This story focuses on Jasper/Angel and Eden They seem to be almost predeterined to be together. They have grown up together, spent their days together and have also been the best of friends. There is a noticeable age gap when we first meet them, which will make a difference initially. Jasper is 18 to Eden's 14. However, Jasper knows that as Eden is entering high school, she is officially allowed to date. He takes the opportunity and the two end up together. Eden does not come from a typical family though - her father is abusive and takes every opportunity to do damage. She eventually manages to flee from town along with her younger sister. Jasper is devastated and does his utmost to move on, thinking she has abandoned him. Eden's father soon discovers where she has fled to and forces her to return home. However, he takes the opportunity to beat Eden so badly that the neighbors hear her screams. Mercifully, he is then sent away and Eden is left in the interim to raise her sister on her own. The day is looming that Eden's father will be released from prison, and she does the only thing she knows will help. She calls on the Angel Warriors MC for their help. They are notoriously well known for taking care of kids in distress and helping where women have suffered abuse. However, when they arrive on her doorstep, Eden couldn't be more shocked. The president is none other than her beloved Jasper. As the story unfolds we are treated to many devastating secrets that emerge between the two. Both have had to omit a lot in order to protect the other, but when the truth is finally set free - will it be enough to push them back together or will it be what finally cuts their ties. I really enjoyed this book. I loved for a change that we got to see a softer and kinder MC. It was refreshing to find these men that were actually doing good, instead of drug smuggling gun toters. I loved the character of Jasper/Angel. He is a tough alpha that takes care of his club, his woman and also makes sure that all children that need them have a voice. I love how he loved Eden - from when they were so young. Although he has made a few mistakes along the way, he very much knows that Eden is the one for him. I loved his strength, kindness and his passion. Eden, I have to be completely honest, is not one of my favorite female characters. I know that she has endured a difficult life and that she has done a lot to protect herself and her sister. She has kept a secret from Jasper, and it is HUGE! I struggled with that dishonesty. I really could not relate to her. Having said that the book has some amazing secondary characters who were chomping at the bit to make themselves heard. I really loved them and I look forward to the next 2 books in the series to find out where their roads take them. I am giving Unkiss Me 4 stars. It was a good read which kept you gripped, and as always Dawn Martens really knows how to hit a person where it hurts. Well done Dawn, I look forward to the rest of the series!
