The toughest fighters aren’t created in the octagon but are born of necessity. When life delivers blow after punishing blow, you fight back or get destroyed.

Eve Dawson has had her fill of bad luck. A string of unhealthy relationships has left her angry, bitter, and frustrated. She’s given up on being happy and settles for content. Swearing off men, she repels advances and makes herself a challenge to even the most persistent suitors. After all, how much can the fragile human heart take? But life isn’t finished with her, and when things can’t possibly get worse . . . they do.

Stay on your feet.

It’s Cameron Kyle’s motto, but with his fighting career ripped from his grasp, a child he wasn’t strong enough to save, and a marriage that even the brawn of a heavyweight couldn’t hold together, it’s getting harder and harder to stay upright. He takes on the position of CEO of the UFL, intent on hiding his biggest weakness in order to forge a path that leads him back into the octagon.

When an old rival mysteriously gets wind of Cameron’s plan to fight again, he comes out of retirement to settle old debts, but secrets, lies, and betrayal threaten to deliver the death-blow. The distraction of a sass-mouthed girl seventeen years his junior is the last thing he needs until a tragic accident shatters the firm foundation of his resolve and he realizes just how far he’s fallen.

Will they risk it all and fight to be together?

Or does defeat lie within the fall?

After reading this I have no words!  This book is CRAZY GOOD - and I am pleased to say my FIRST 5 star rating for the blog!  J.B. Salsbury - this book series keeps getting better and better!  WOW!

This is the story of Cameron and Eve.  Cameron is the CEO of the UFL and oh boy, does he come with a lot of issues.. He keeps them well hidden for the most part, but as things do they soon start making their way to the surface.

Cameron is 38, built to fight and smoking hot.  Eve is 21, blonde, buxom and looking for love.    When Cam firsts meet Eve he is doing the "right" thing by mingling with his fighters at a night club.  He takes on the role of protector and soon is offering her a ride home.

It was instant chemistry for these two! The sparks were so freaking hot and let me tell you, I'm pretty sure if my kindle could have caught fire after this book, it would have!  Cameron is old enough to know exactly how he likes things done in the bedroom and Eve is young enough to want to experience it ALL! And boy oh boy does she! WOW!

"You make me crazy." He drags his lips down my throat. I moan and drop my head to the side.  "Good crazy or bad crazy?"  He pulls back and meets my eyes with a heavy lidded glare, but he doesn't speak.  Oh no.  That's gotta be bad crazy" - Fighting to Fall (Fighting #4) by J.B. Salsbury

Cam is honest with Eve and tells her that they should keep things simple and just between the 2 of them.  However as time passes, Cam soon realises that this is more than just explosive chemistry and they agree to take things public.  Cameron has the unenviable task of telling Jonah, who has taken on the role of Eve's pseudo father.   That conversation is incredibly awkward, but clearly Cam is not intimidated in the least and let's Jonah know what is what.

In the midst of all of this, Eve finds herself in the throes of some serious family drama.  As a typical alpha male, Cam wants to step in and do the rescuing.  Eve wants no part of it and insists on doing things her way and sorting things out the way she knows how.  I must say that this is one of my favorite female characters to date.  She is tough, independent and does things her own way.  Although she has a man around that can most certainly make things a lot easier for her, she sticks to her guns and works hard to sort out her own problems.

Cam is hiding many secrets though - secrets that he believe will have Eve running in the other direction when she finds out about them.  He believes keeping them from her will protect her and also to some degree himself.

After a dinner celebrating Ryder's (Cameron's son) birthday Eve sees something that she misinterprets and ends up walking away from Cameron.  As luck would have it - it is on a night where her life is about to change forever.

"I love you, Cameron Kyle, but I'm not strong enough to hold on to you" - Eve, Fighting for Fall (Fighting #4) by J.B. Salsbury

Salsbury, you knocked this one out the park, and I am waiting in breathless anticipation to see what happens to all my fighting guys next!
