His dark obsession runs deep.

How does a girl go from being her Daddy’s precious baby doll to feeling like a filthy whore?
Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling and brazen he’s intent on making my life a living hell. Blackmails me into doing things I never thought I’d do. Illicit things.
Oliver King makes the rules. He f*cks me whenever he wants. How he wants. Where he wants.
My head screams this is wrong, yet I can't resist giving in to forbidden desires.
I’m his possession, his toy — his ultimate pleasure.
He’s never letting me go. I’m his dark obsession.

My dirty addiction to my stepbrother grows to a dangerous level. Am I sick to crave more from the man who has made me his slut? Or should I escape and run as far away as possible?

My name is Maya Childs and this is my story.

Dark erotic novel that contains sensitive subject matter that may make readers uncomfortable. Not appropriate for readers under 18. Contains explicit language and descriptions of sexual situations and violence.

This is the story of Maya Childs, her father has been looking for love for a number of years.  His first wife (and Maya's mother) had committed suicide shortly after Maya's birth.

Her dad meets Larissa, and the two are quickly married.  Larissa has also been previously married and her son Oliver is away studying.  Eventually over a weekend the family is brought together.  Almost immediately, we begin our love/hate relationship with Oliver.  Although there are times when he is sweet, he is more often than not a complete asshole to everyone.

As time passes and he sees Maya growing up, he cannot help the attraction that he feels for her.  However, he makes it his mission to make her life as hellish as possible.  He brings home girls and ensures that the performance is as loud as possible so that Maya can hear.  He also chases off many of Maya's suitors and calls her a slut on numerous occasions.

Eventually on the night of her 18th birthday, we see the 2 of them succumb to their baser instincts.  Oliver discovers a truth about Maya that he struggles to deal with.

The darkness in Oliver is cruel and painful at times, it's actually quite difficult to read a character this dark.  It is delicious and sinful all at the same time.  He really is the epitome of a bad guy, and there are times when you are not sure whether his good nature will ever come out.  He is mean and hurtful - and the damage he inflicts on Maya emotionally is heart breaking.

Maya craves Oliver, she will take him anyway she can get him, even if it's cruel comments and hate filled stares. As soon as the relationship turned physical - it changed things for both of them.  Maya, although damaged, is completely in touch with her feelings.  She knows what it is that she feels for Oliver, but she will never express it to him, for fear of rejection.

Eventually though as the illicit affair continues, Oliver realises more and more that he cannot do it, and eventually withdraws completely from Maya.   Once again, he reminds us why we love to hate him as he disappears from Maya's life without so much as a word.

Larissa, although she and Maya have never had a close relationship, steps in and tells Maya some home truths about Oliver.  Is it  too late for love to prevail though?  Oliver has moved on - he is on the verge of marrying another woman, living in another country... Will Olivia be in time?  Will their love be worth saving.

I am giving this book 4 stars!  The characters were incredible.  I loved how damaged they were - most of the time you didn't know if you wanted to smack them or just wrap them up in your arms and protect them.  I wish that Maya had been a bit stronger, but I have to say that during the course of the book, her character did develop and grow.

I loved this book about the taboo relationship between step siblings and I cannot wait to see what else Harlow Grace has up her sleeve.

Meet Harlow Grace

Harlow Grace has tried many things in her life but writing has always been and still remains her passion. She loves to create characters in need of redemption and her stories are mostly all dark romance but then again, she likes to mix things up so don't be surprised if she publishes a sweet romance every now and then. When she's not writing or reading, Harlow is plotting and planning her next adventure or dreaming of lazy days in the sun with a good book in one hand and a cocktail in the other.
