Outside, the office has gone quiet, and I think about the hot mess we used to cause in this office. Back when we were younger. When I worried less. I can almost hear a collective sigh of relief from my staff as Ben and I talk in our normal voices—no shouting. No sounds of breakage. I blush slightly at the memory. What on earth were we thinking?
“What are you thinking about?” Ben asks softly, his face smoothing out, becoming less worried, more predatory. More intense.
“Nothing,” I mutter, dropping my eyes, my blush mounting.
He grins wickedly. “You’re thinking about how quiet everything went when I walked in.” He moves closer to me, placing a fingertip underneath my chin, forcing my eyes back up to his.
“And you’re remembering why.” His eyes don’t leave mine for a second, but I brush his hand away, flinching at the memory, ducking to escape those eyes.
“It’s in the past,” I say huskily, but he runs his fingers slowly along the edge of the desk. The edge I’ve clung to so many times, hopeless with desire, my legs buckling beneath me, his hands, his tongue…
“You’re thinking about it,” he whispers, moving behind me, his lips warm and soft against my neck, his hands reaching down and skimming across my hips, the warmth of his breath leaving my lips parted, my breathing shallow. His teeth find my earlobe and tug on it gently. A moan escapes my lips. Everything inside me wants to open my neck up to him, lean back into him, feel his hands wander leisurely across my body, my breasts. As though he has all the time in the world. As though I’m his.
But I pull away, trying to calm my breathing.
His arms fall to his side and I can feel him standing behind me. Sagging a little. No! I think immediately, my body desperate for his touch.
“I miss it, too,” he says, but he keeps his hands off me. Thank God is my next thought, my sensible brain kicking in. Because I don’t think I would have the resolve to move away twice.
Finally he moves to the chair opposite me, his eyes dark with lust, his jeans bulging appreciatively. I avert my eyes.
It’s only been a few weeks, but it might as well have been twenty years, I want him so badly.
“It’s probably going to come out, Ada. Judging by that last letter.” He watches me carefully. “Will it really be that bad?”

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo -- EXCERPT: “Who knows you’re here?” she asked. “You mean, specifically here? In Hong Kong?” She nodded. “No one. My family and friends think I’m traveling for work.” “Ah. So if anything happened to you, how do they know where to look?” she asked, her chin resting on the palm of her hand. “Well, when they find my phone and the one thousand pictures of you, they’ll know,” he said. She laughed. Rather uncomfortably. This is what having an affair feels like. It’s you and him and no one else. “Adrian doesn’t know I’m here.” This time he leaned forward, closer to her. “Does Riley know you’re here?” “She has to. Even if I don’t tell her directly, Jake knows. He’s very protective that way. Needs to know where I go, who I’m with.” “You seem so attached, the two of you.” “He’s the only constant in my life.” He stayed silent. She hadn’t intended to offend him with that comment. But then she decided that it was too soon to even think of his role in her life. That was the real crux of the matter, and she wanted to keep it top of mind. What about you, your parents? Do you see them often while you’re home?” He laughed. “As a matter of fact, I have dinner with them every Sunday. They don’t live far from my old apartment. I’m moving to Chelsea when I get back which is a little further away, but I know my mum will find every excuse to come and visit. I’ll be too close to the shopping area for her to resist. She likes to get out sometimes. Leave the farm.” “We’re lucky we have family we can count on,” she said. “But none of them know we’re together,” he said, his tone lowered, quiet. “Why does anyone need to know? Who cares?” she asked in defiance. She observed the way he picked up another dumpling with his chopsticks and shoved the whole thing in his mouth. “Okay, let me rephrase that,” she said. “In time, they’ll know.” He smiled. “Better.” He looked at his watch. She could tell that he wanted to change the subject. And she didn’t have to try. A round of applause filled the room. Tessa and Simon turned to see a man on one knee with his arms in the air, proposing to a very embarrassed woman. “At a dimsum restaurant?” Simon smirked. “Hey! You’ll never know! Maybe this is a special place for them,” Tessa said. “Must be,” he answered, pulling his wallet out at the same time. He motioned for the dimsum man to bring the check over. The man counted the different colored plates, each with a code for the food they ordered, wrote with lightning speed on a pad of paper, tore it off unevenly and handed it to Simon. As he examined the bill, Simon said, “I forgot that your Twitter profile says ‘hopeless romantic.’“ “Love makes the world go ‘round!” she said in response, pausing to follow up with an afterthought. “At least in Romance books!” ![]()

![]() ![]() Brittany's rating: 3.5 of 5 stars I rather enjoyed this book, but was also disappointed. If I'm remembering correctly, at the beginning, Maya eludes to Zeke choking her while they fool around, but other than a bit of flogging, there wasn't much kink in this book, which was very disappointing. I was looking forward to that. I do like Zeke and Maya's relationship, however, I feel that with Zeke having left Maya for two years because of his relationship to her, he did not put up that much of a fight when he decided to pursue a sexual relationship with her. I feel that if he truly thought that they could not be anything ever, he would have been more adamant and reluctant to change the nature of their relationship. This is my first Abby Gale book, and it's an ARC, so I don't know how her writing style is once a book has been edited. And I debated whether or not to include this in my review because I wasn't sure if it would be consider part of the editing, which is usually done after bloggers receive the arc. There were many sentences that did not flow. Individual sentences, not sentences strung together. There would be words missing or the wrong form/tense of a verb being used and it just became disruptive at times. Overall I give this book 3.5 stars View all my reviews

My last year of college was set to be the best yet. Only a few months stood between me and the life of my dreams. Until my manager was arrested for embezzlement, our department was wiped out, and everything fell apart. I needed a job. I was willing to do anything to pay for school, hoping to simply survive. Desperate, I joined Soirée, the private party company that offered something no other did.
I wasn’t prepared for Roman, the boss who thought I was helpless and hated me as much as I detested him. Or, his best friend Reid, who assumed I was tougher than I was and pursued me in a way no one else ever had.
I never used a pole, yet I took my clothes off as men cheered. My past didn’t lead me there, though.
My story began with the secrets I told as I fell in love with two very different men.
And continued with the lies I weaved to keep us all from breaking.
5 Star Review by Lorena
This book had me completely hooked from beginning to end. I don't think I even blinked while reading it, that's how good it was. Give me a book that has entanglements, lies, deceit and mistrust involved and girl I will devour that baby in a heartbeat. Cady is a girl who has had no luck when it comes to having a job. She keeps getting fired because she just doesn't have it in her to be a waitress. So her roommate's girlfriend has a plan and has cashed in a favor from Roman, the owner of a club she used to work at. When Roman meets Cady for the first time, he is like "no way in hell" he doesn't think Cady has it to be a burlesque show girl and never mind not having what it takes, but she doesn't look like the type who is confident and can handle that type of job. Who's going to show her the routines in such a short period of time??? But Roman hires her any ways. When Reid takes a look at their new girl, he knows the moment he sees her that he wants her and doesn't hesitate to stake his claim. Roman on the other hand, doesn't care because he has zero interest in this girl. He's still hung up on his ex who left him on their wedding day. Roman is charming, handsome, rich and the man can dance -- talk about sexxxxy! Reid is Roman's business partner and he's known him all his life. They do things together, even have gone as far as sharing the same girl before. But that didn't end well so they decided not to do that again. He is also a kick ass dancer. Cady may not be confident in herself, she feels like she shouldn't be in this type of industry because she obviously doesn't have the same body type as the rest of the girls in the show, but all the girls were very receptive to her and welcoming, so that really gave her a boost. She developed strong feelings for both Roman and Reid, even though she felt like she wasn't good enough for either one of them. If she only knew that she was the reason these two changed so much. She brought out the best in them. If it weren't for her, I don't know where Roman would have ended up at. I'm telling you guys, this book was to die for. When I first read the synopsis and saw those teasers, I knew I had to read it. I was itching to read it and now that I'm done, I want to cry because I want more. Even though it was pretty lengthy, it didn't feel like it because there was not one part boring in this book. From the moment I started I just couldn't sway myself from putting it down at all. Cady, Roman and Reid were one combination you don't want to miss out on reading about. Now I need more from a certain character in this book, he also needs his happily ever after!!

I stood there, a helpless bystander, as he gave her the same grin he’d always used on the adults to get himself out of trouble when we were kids. The one that said he was sweet and innocent and could be trusted. Lying asshole. Cady responded with a slow, lazy smile of her own, one filled with promises I couldn’t even comprehend.
Not happening. My fingers locked around her upper arm and I hauled her to her feet before I knew what I was doing. “I’ve got it,” I snarled in his direction before I half dragged her up the stairs and down the hall to my room.
With every step we took she sputtered like an angry wet cat and tried to shake me off. My grip only tightened. As soon as we were in my room, with the lights on and the heavy door locked safely behind us, I let her push me away.
“What in the hell are you doing?”
“You said you were exhausted.” I lifted my chin toward the bed in the middle of the room as I dropped my suit jacket on the floor and pulled off my tie. “Get some rest.”
“There’s no couch. Where are you going to sleep?”
I had my shirt unbuttoned and on the pile before I answered. “You’re a smart girl. You figure it out.”
As I reached for the button on my pants, she nodded once. “Okay. So, I’ll be in Andy’s room.”
I lunged for her as she was twisting the handle, squishing her body between the door and me, my hands on top of hers, halting her. I hadn’t been prepared for how she’d feel. She wasn’t built like my other dancers, shorter and curvier, but I hadn’t stopped to think about how soft that would make her body. It was oddly comforting, and I wanted to sink into it and let her surround me.
Fighting whatever craziness my mind had started to manifest, I put my mouth to her ear, needing her to hear me. “If you leave this room, I will spank your ass. I’m too fucking wasted to take on every man here, but don’t think I’m too far gone to haul you back to this room, tie you to the bed, and punish you.”
Glimpses of that scenario ran through my mind, making me instantly hard. I had no idea where the thought had come from. I’d never tied any woman to my bed, or any where else, and I sure as shit had never spanked anyone in more than a playful manner. It should have disgusted me.
We must have gotten a bad bottle of booze. It hadn’t been stored right or something. Maybe one of Alistair’s loser friends laced it.
Instead of throwing her head back into my face and breaking my nose, or reacting the way any sensible woman would, Cady’s breath caught and she shivered underneath me. Not from fear or cold, but because my words had gotten to her.
She moved her head back slightly, fitting it into the spot between my neck and shoulder. Neither of us said a word. Her scent, one I didn’t recognize, invaded my nostrils. I fought the urge to turn her around and kiss her, to beg her to let me fuck her against the door for the entire house to hear.
Her breathing grew more ragged by the second and I knew that she was feeling it, this undeniable attraction. She spun, her back to the door, perfect fat tits shoving into my chest, and I couldn’t think anymore. My fist wound itself into her hair, holding her in place, as I leaned down in slow motion, almost daring her to push me away, and captured her lips with mine.
She tasted like strawberries and whiskey, her mouth warm and captivating as she gave me exactly what I wanted. It wasn’t enough. I bit her bottom lip lightly, tugging it open, so my tongue could find hers.
Fingernails traced down my bare chest, exploring. When they ran over my abs, Cady groaned as if it was the most delightful thing she’d ever touched. The sound made my dick jump. I worked hard for the body I had, pushed myself to stay in shape, so I could accomplish all the things I wanted. It was a bonus to know she appreciated the effort.
Jealousy, that she got to touch me while I was acting like a saint and keeping my hands in PG zones, hit me. I broke the kiss and stepped back, ready to strip her out of the ugly baggy clothes she’d put on and worship her body. She wasn’t fooling me. I’d seen enough during practices and the performance to know exactly what she was hiding.
In spectacular fuckface timing, Andrew chose that moment to pound on the door. “Yo, asshole. You forgot your phone. Reid’s blowing it up.”
Cady ducked and spun away from the wood, backing toward the bed, eyes wide as they darted around the room. Before I could offer an explanation, or beg her to give me five minutes to get rid of the pest problem outside our door and get back to business, the brat smirked at me. Then she began to laugh.
“Well,” she dragged her teeth over her lip making me groan inwardly, “that was a surprise. No more alcohol for us.”
Andy knocked again.
“You get that. I’m going to go to bed. To sleep.” She clarified. “And then you’re going to come to bed. For sleep. So we can get up in a few hours and pretend this never happened.”
“That’s how we’re playing this?”
“Partners don’t have sex, remember? It’s against the rules.”
Fuck the goddamned stupid rules. I hated them. I was going to rewrite the employee manual first thing on Monday.
Cady chuckled, as if she could hear my thoughts. “No, you’re not. They’re good rules. You don’t want to sleep with me. You’re just drunk.”
“I said that out loud?”
She giggled again and I couldn’t stop my own answering smile. “You did.” She moved forward, pushing me out of the way slightly, and opened the door. “Give it to me,” she held out her hand.
“Come next door and I will,” Andy’s husky voice replied as he handed her my iPhone. “I’ll give it to you so dirty you’ll be begging me for more.”
Without a reply, she backed up quickly and slammed the door in his face. He obviously didn’t like his head attached to his body because I was going to remove it if he didn’t cut the shit.
“Here,” she didn’t wait for me to take it, but shoved the phone into my chest instead. “Call Reid. Tell him you’re too drunk to drive, that I’m not any better, and that we’re staying here. It’s been an,” her gaze settled on my stomach and her teeth scraped across her lips, “interesting first day at my new job and I’m exhausted.”
With a quick tug, her sweatshirt was over her head and on the floor, taunting me, before she face-planted herself onto the bed. “Good night.” It was no more than a mumble. The brat was out cold in seconds.
I didn’t dial Reid’s number. Or anyone else. He hadn’t been the only one who had called repeatedly. I especially didn’t want to deal with the force that was Livie tonight. Not when I was drunk and I had a hot as fuck woman in my bed.
No. Cady wasn’t hot. Cady was Ruffles, my employee. The bitter, snarky, clueless one. I wasn’t attracted to her.
She definitely wasn’t Brooke. I wanted my fiancé back. And only my fiancé.
Which is why it was perfectly safe for me to climb up onto the bed next to Cady. Friends could sleep in the same bed. The small width of the full size mattress wasn’t something I was used to, which was the only reason I threw an arm around her and hauled her back into my chest. She was soft and warm, which was why I dropped kisses onto her neck, inhaling her body spray, telling myself I loved the scent and needed to find out what it was.
It was all fine. Completely innocent. Nothing more.

No more secrets, Cam. “What’s going on?” The man in my arms doesn’t answer with his words. Instead, he takes hold of the edge of my towel and pulls it from my body. I gasp at the sensation of our skin pressing intimately together. I brace myself against his chiseled arms, digging my fingers into his biceps for purchase. He isn’t done. He lifts his hands, one to my hip, one to my cheek. His thumb draws a small circle on my exposed hip bone. With the side of his knuckle, he traces the outline of my lower lip. I stay very, very still so he won’t notice the slight shudder racing down my spine. “I can’t tell you,” he says so softly that it breaks my heart. “Yes, you can.” I barely recognize my own voice. Cam’s eyes, dark and hurting, are locked on my lips. I want to ease that pain. And I think I know how. I lean in closer, pulling myself up to his level with my hands on his chest. Our breaths mingle and everything is warm, the air between us aflame. “You’re killing me.” These are the words that fall from Cam’s lips before they meet mine. God. My lips are locked against his in the softest of kisses. I catch his lower lip with my own, pressing every ounce of my feelings into him. Every thank you for being there for me. Every you’re perfect for being exactly what I need. Can he feel how much I care for him? He’s still for a whole Mississippi second—a second too long for me to bear. Oh God. What have I done? But the moment I pull away, Cam leans in. His hands are on my face, holding my lips against his. He tilts my head, digs his fingers into my hair, and opens his mouth to mine. “Natalie . . .” The sound of my name slipping so lustfully from the back of his throat sends a jolt all the way down. All the way down. I pull myself even higher on my toes, clinging to him with my arms around his neck. He returns the favor, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me tight against him. Our mouths are magnetic, unable to separate, unwilling to stop. My God. I’m kissing Cam. I’m kissing my best friend. I’m kissing him and I can’t stop. I dart my tongue between his lips, caressing the underside of his upper lip. He growls, maddened by my bold move. His fingers blaze fiery trails down my neck and shoulders. His hands explore me, memorizing the slope of my back and the curve of my hips. Each touch is so soft, yet so electric. Soon it’s all frantic kisses and eager moans that I’m pretty sure are coming from me. I press into his shoulders, leaving handprints on his chest. My fingers draw lines down his abdomen, then finally trace along the bulge beneath his towel. Cam jerks back, his eyes full of questions. But there’s no more time for questions. We’ve wasted far too much of it.

AMAZON ![]() Brittany's rating: 5 of 5 stars I have been #teamcolby from the start. I absolutely HATED Stryder and his relationship with Rory. I still do. I had to grit my jaw any time those two were mentioned in this book. But I am so happy that Colby gets his happily ever. I relate so hard with Ryan. So hard. It actually tore me up emotionally because of how much I related to her. She's a hopeless romantic, always on the outside when it comes to love. Her best friend just got married and is now about to have a baby. Everyone else around her is in a relationship or about to get married. And all she wants is to love and be loved. She wants it more than anything and is sick of not being good enough for any of the men that she dates. And I feel that. I feel it so much. I cried a couple times during this book and the next because I just felt her pain. It starts to grow worse as she slowly starts to fall for Colby and she knows that she can never have him because he's in love with another. I love how Meghan Quinn keeps us guessing throughout the book about who is going to end up with Colby. Since there are chapters in Ryan's point of view, I would think it would be her, but when Sage enters the story, I'm no longer sure. And maybe she'll do what she did with the last duet and make the whole next book about Sage. Just because it's in Ryan's point of view the majority of the time doesn't mean she ends up with him. This is definitely my favorite duet of the two. I hated the last book because of Stryder and how he ended up with the girl. That's a whole other story, though. I am just so happy that Colby gets his chance at love. I couldn't put this book down, I was so engrossed in the story. And his friends are great secondary characters. She blew me away with this duet! View all my reviews ![]() Brittany's rating: 5 of 5 stars Definitely one of my favorite books for the year. I love Colby. I love how strong he is, how caring he is, how loving he is. I want a man like Colby in my life. Just like with the last book, Meghan Quinn put me through the wringer with Ryan's internal thoughts of how she's not good enough for any man and how she's never going to find love. It seems everyone else is finding their happily ever after and she's about to lose her best friend to a marriage that she so desperately wants to be a part of. I feel it. I feel that. I relate to that. I finished this book and threw myself a pity party because my biggest wish is to find a man that will treat me like any of the characters I read about. To be loved and be someone's number one. I may only be 23, but it seems that everyone around me, just like in Ryan's life, is getting married and having babies. I might not want the baby part, but I want the marriage, the perfect life, the soulmate. I. Want. It. I couldn't put this book down, just like with the last one. I was so invested in Colby and Ryan's story. And you know what, I hated how the last duet ended, because I was so pissed that Stryder basically encroached on Colby's girl, the supposed love of his life. But now I'm glad that Colby and Rory didn't end up together, because Colby and Ryan are perfect together. And Ryan is working on being on the left side of perfect while she becomes Colby's right side of forever. View all my reviews 5 Star Review by Lorena of The Left Side of PerfectI am still reeling and my heart is still trying to sow itself back together after reading this duet. Colby and Ryan -- oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start! Ryan has had insecurity issues all her life, all thanks to the snob of a mother that she has. She's always had issues and has always tried to look perfect because that's what was instilled in her from as long as she can remember. Her father always told her she looked beautiful no matter what, but not her mother. Kids in school always made fun of her and bullied her. But now as a grown up, she was gorgeous and always tried to look "Perfect". When Ryan and Colby end up together after their best friends' wedding, they hit it off quickly and decide to spend that weekend together. Even though Colby didn't want anything to happen between them because they were "friends", it still happened but that's all it was, a one-night stand. They left it as is and moved on with their lives. Ryan stayed in Colorado and Colby went back to Las Vegas. But three months later, Ryan gets a job offer in Las Vegas and she can't refuse it. She wants a clean slate and a fresh start and where better than Las Vegas right! She never thought she'd run into Colby, but she did and their friendship evolved from that point on. They were each other's rock, they confided in each other and hung out all the time. But when Colby drops a bomb on Ryan that he wants to marry his girlfriend, Ryan realizes that she's in love with Colby. Their friendship becomes strained from that point on because Ryan can't cope and deal with the engagement, but she refuses to let Colby know how she really feels about him because she thinks he's perfect with Sage. This book, oh my god this book had me so, so sad even though I loved the friendship Colby and Ryan had, I always wanted more for them. I felt it in my bones that they were meant to be together. Sage was a great woman and she understood Colby, but she wasn't right for him. I was so darn upset that their friendship couldn't evolve to more because Colby was too damn blind to see what was really in front of him, where he should be and with whom. But no matter what, this book gripped my attention from beginning to end. I was 100% invested it and absolutely LOVED IT!
5 Star Review by Lorena of The Right Side of ForeverI think this Duet has been my favorite thus far this year! When I finished The Left Side of Perfect, I didn't waste any time to jump into The Right Side of Forever. I felt that pull between Ryan and Colby and I just couldn't get enough of their story. I was anxious to find out how it was going to end. Now that Ryan is with Colby you would think everything would be hunky dory between them. At least Colby thought so, until Ryan decides that she can't be with him because she has an illness, she needs to find herself and cure herself before she can even commit to the relationship with Colby, and that's if Colby waits for her. But Colby is so in love with Ryan that he would do just about anything to have her. He'll wait for her for as long as it takes and he understands that she needs to do this in order to have a healthy and wonderful relationship with him. Ryan seeks help and it takes her a while to finally love herself, to accept her flaws and everything that comes along with it. She has finally instilled that beauty is within and even though she has always been a beautiful person inside/out, she needed to find that out for herself. The love between these two was so addictive and it made my heart swell to see how much they loved each other. It took them a while to realize that they loved each other and needed to be with each other. My heart broke for Ryan and how she felt about herself and for how she went through men, men who didn't appreciate or love her and she always wondered why, why couldn't anyone love her, until Colby but she couldn't accept that he would love her since no one ever did. I just thought this was such a beautiful, beautiful story and the meaning behind it is so true for many people out there, men and women alike. Meghan Quinn did an exceptional job with this duet!!
![]() Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
