Well this writing duo did it again! I flew through Dirty Secret and when I had to put it down to actually work, I didn't want to. It was devious and delightfully dirty. Even when I was more than halfway through I still had absolutely no idea what was happening or where the next page would take me- and I think that was my favorite thing.
I lied, Nix was my favorite thing about this book! Whew that man- he was a giant walking contradiction. Mysterious and sexy but also dangerous and protective. A criminal with a conscience. And when a blue haired bombshell crosses his path his interest is more than piqued. Kennedy, in a nutshell, fiery, independent, strong, determined, all-woman. These two can't deny their attraction to each other- even though it will cause both of them nothing but trouble. Just when I thought I had this one figured out, another twist would happen. Full of turns, deception and indulgence, I never knew which way was up with Nix and Kennedy, and most of the time they didn't either. Because when the lines between business and pleasure get blurred and feelings get involved, delicate situations get even more tricky. Enemies to lovers back to enemies but then onto something else....Kennedy and Nix's dynamic was unlike anything I've ever read. Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert have found their stride and I am very much looking forward to reading more of they're collaboration in the future. Oh, I can't forget to mention that there was a Jude and Reagan (from Dirty Work) sighting. |
