I had no clue Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert were writing a book about politics but when I saw that was the direction I got a little wary. Politics and romance is hard to do right, and with the intense Presidential campaign happening right now I wasn't too sure how this was gonna go. I had no need to worry- because Jude and Reagan's story was so original that it kept me glued to my kindle. I fell for the strong and serious war hero from the first time I met him. I'm not sure if it was his take no prisoners attitude or his tattoos but either way I was hooked. Just like Reagan was. She couldn't seem to get out from under his spell no matter how bad it was for her future. From flirty text messages and secret rendezvous, their clandestine meetings were beyond risky but they just couldn't stay away. Reagan, this poor girl couldn't catch a break even if she tried. Things were coming at her from every direction and the only place she wanted to run to was Jude's arms. I loved his honesty and how he stuck to his guns and always did the honorable thing where Reagan was concerned. Especially when someone's scheming threatened to destroy everything they had been building. With everything that was happening, and there was a lot, it all came together pretty seamlessly. Reagan and Jude are both feeling the pressure to win and tensions are high. The sexual tension is, too. And boy did it ever explode! Can you say HOT!?! Things on the trail and between the two of them are intense and it's all leading up to election day. And I'm not going to tell you anything else! Congrats to Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert because Dirty Work almost made me want to like politics. While it was centered around a campaign it was so much more than that. It was foes to friends to lovers. Equal parts sexy and sweet with just a touch of drama. This book was charming and kept me entertained until the very end.
