I was lucky enough to sit down with the two main character's of Margaret McHeyzer's newest release, Grit. Get to know them and Margaret better!

That's me! ^^

There's Jaeger!

And the lovely Phoenix.

Brittany: Hello, you two. I’m so happy that you agreed to this interview. How are you two doing today?

J and N are sitting beside each on a sofa at the clubhouse. J has one leg propped up on the other and N’s holding J’s hand. J doesn’t look too impressed though, he’s been trying to quit smoking and he’s been pretty pissed lately.

J: My cock’s been sucked so I’m alright.
N: Shut-up will you. We’re fine, thank you, Brittany. We hope you’re well.
J: I don’t give a shit if she’s well or not, I’m doing this interview bullshit for you, sugar.
N: You promised me, Jaeger.
J: Whatever.
Brittany: Let’s begin. If I ask any inappropriate questions, please let me know and I will make sure not to include them in the actual post. First question I have for you. I’ve read your story, but many have not. Tell us how you met.

J: You know, she’s hot and I wanted her to suck me off.
N: Either shut-up completely or be nice. She doesn’t care about your cock.
J: You care about my cock.
N: Not as much as you do.
J: Well, yeah.
N: I didn’t realize until a little later on, that I had seen Jaeger at a…um…well…sort of underworld activity that I never even knew took place. I was dragged to it, and I remember looking at the two guys thinking “Is this real?” Apparently these things do happen.
J: Yeah, I saw her at the fight and the moment I saw her I wanted her. Maybe it’s the red hair, but I knew I had to have her.

Picture
Brittany: Before I get into any more questions involving both of you, I wanna take a few minutes to get to know you individually. This question is for Jaeger. Tell me, if you hadn’t been brought up the way you were, with really crappy parents (sorry if that offends you), where do you think you’d be right now?

J: Dunno – life is what it is. I never think about the past like that, ‘cause there’s no use in holding on to shit like that. Fucker’s chucked me out of home when I wasn’t even 16 yet. Maybe they did me a favor. Well I suppose they did, or I wouldn’t have ended up with this sexy girl.
N: for the love of God, stop calling me a damn girl! I’m a woman, Jaeger.
(Jaeger pissing himself laughing) Yeah alright, Red.
N: (Rolls her eyes.)

Brittany: Kind of the same question for you, Nix. I don’t know too much about your parents, except your dad was a total idiot. If you had been brought up in a more…stable home, where do you think you would be?

N: I think for me, I’d be working the land. That’s pretty much what I always wanted to do.
(Nix looks over at Jaeger, and he’s smiling at her.)
N: What?
J: You’re screwed then, ‘cause you’re stuck with me.
N: Idiot.
Brittany: Jaeger, what were your first thoughts when you saw Nix that first time?

J: Damn, I hope she taste great.
N: Really? How many people are going to read this, and that’s what you have to say.
J: I told you, I won’t lie.
N: Don’t lie, just tone it down.
J: That’s still lyin’.
(Nix takes a deep breath and looks at Brittany)

Brittany: Nix, same question.

N: The time I opened the door and he was standing there, truthfully, I was glad I knew how to handle a gun. Because he’s scary to look at. But within an hour or so, I noticed he’s got this crazy protective nature to him.
J: No I don’t.
N: Yeah, you do. If you believe in it enough to fight for it, then you’re crazy protective.
Jaeger grumbles – he doesn’t like people thinking he’s soft.

Brittany: You two have such a funny relationship. Nix, you fight him with everything you have, and I know that Jaeger loves that. Have you ever thought what would happen if you didn’t put up a fight?

J: Yeah I’d get my cock sucked more often.
N: No you wouldn’t because I’d shoot you.
J: Pfffft – whatever, Red.
N: You’re seriously gonna cop it when Brittany leaves.
J: Do you promise??
N: Idiot.
Picture
Brittany: Jaeger, you are probably one of the funniest people I know. Where do you get your sense of humor from?

J: I’m funny?
Jaeger stares blankly at Brittany.
Picture
Brittany: Jaeger, if you Nix’s father never slacked on payments, you would have never really met her. What would you be doing now if that was the case?

J: One of the club sluts would have their mouth full.
Phoenix slaps her forehead than runs her hand through her hair.
J: What?
Brittany: Nix, does Jaeger’s mouth every get on your nerves? And Jaeger, I know what you’re gonna say. Zip it.

N: Has this interview not already answered that question.
Jaeger – laughing.
Brittany: Take a minute and convince the readers to read your book.

J: Fuck ‘em – if they wanna read it, good, if not, it’s their issue.
N: We’re supposed to be nice here, Jaeger.
J: You can be nice for both of us, I’ll just sit back and let you answer it.
N: Our story is slightly different to what you’d ordinarily get in a biker book. Because it starts off as Jaeger as a street fighter, which let me tell you, his skills come in to very good use. We’re pretty unique in our pairing, and our story. Fun may be a word used to describe part of our journey. Though, (Nix’s eyes dart to the ground) there was a part that I wish I could forget.
J: Yeah, me too, sugar. (J wraps his arms around Nix and kisses her forehead.) It’s alright, one day the nightmares will stop.
N: (visibly upset) I love you.
J: I’ll never stop lovin’ you.
J still hugging N turns to Brittany.
J: Can you give us a few?
Picture
Brittany: Nix, have you made any really good friends in the club besides Milina? Who, I’m guessing, is now a part of the club as well.

N: That’s clubs business about Milina. But yeah, the guys are awesome, and I’m surprised that I get on well with the ‘old ladies’ too. I did use air quotes for old ladies, because it’s a term that I really struggled with.
J: yeah, she didn’t like bein’ claimed. My brothers knew though, she was with me.
Brittany: What can we expect from you two in the future? Anything?

Jaeger and Nix look at each with the biggest grins ever.
J: We’ll see.
Brittany: Jaeger, do you ever see yourself stepping down from being President of the club? And if you did, would you still be a part of it as just a member?

J: I created this club and no fuckin’ way will I ever step down.
Brittany: Jaeger, tell us about your bike.

J: Custom built, baby. Custom fuckin’ built Harley. Think Breakout – but better.
N: No one knows what a Breakout is.
J: Fuck off! That’s bullshit. Everyone knows what a Breakout is.
N: They won’t.
J: Then they can google it, I ain’t wasting my time tellin’ ‘em.
Picture
Brittany: Nix, do you have a bike of your own?

N: No thanks, I’ve got a SUV.

Brittany: If you could say one thing to each other without the other getting mad, what would it be?

J and N turn to each other, J’s smiling and N looks stressed out.
J: You promise not to get mad?
N: I’ll try.
J: Good enough for me. I want you and Milina in a threesome.
N: Really?
J: You’re not shocked? (J furrows his eyebrows together and leans into Nix)
N: Coming from you, no not shocked.
J: Good, thought you’d be pissed at me.
N: Why would I get pissed?
J: ‘Cause I’d really love to see her eat you out.
N: (smiling) Well it wouldn’t be the first time.
J: We’re out of here. (J jumps up off the lounge, grabs N hand and drags her to their bedroom.) Sarge! (Sarge comes out of the meeting room) See Brittany out!!!

Picture
Well, thanks, I guess. For the interview. Okay, um yeah. Thanks.

I got to sit down with Margaret McHeyzer as well. She is the creator of those two "lovely" characters

Brittany: Hi Margaret. For those of you that don’t know, Margaret is my second wife. Yes, I have another wife. Yes, I know that is frowned upon, but I have to share my love.

Margaret: And I’m so grateful to be a second wife… though sometimes I feel neglected.
Brittany: How are you doing today, dear wife?

Margaret: I’m just fantastic! How about you?

Brittany: I'm wonderful, thanks for asking.
Brittany: As with all my interviews, there will be two sections. We’re going to get to know the two sides of you. The author side and the you side.

Margaret: The ‘me’ side? Okay, let me grab a cup of coffee and we can start.

*runs to kitchen to hide
Brittany: Okay, so tell us how you first started writing? I know, that’s such a cliché question. But I gotta know.

Margaret: Um, let’s see. It started March 2013, as an avid reader I kept seeing the same thing happening in books and I really wanted a story where the heroine was just as strong if not stronger than the hero. As I was chopping my veges for that night’s dinner, a story popped into my head. The story was about an assassin, and a cop.
Brittany: You are a very… unconventional writer. In your bio it says “I don’t do normal.” Well, I can attest to that. No, you don’t. Tell us why.

Margaret: My mind works in mysterious ways, I love and by love I mean I LOVE pushing boundaries. When a story decides to plague my mind, it’s usually ‘unique’ in itself. I want my audience to never know what they’re going to get from me, hell, I don’t even know what I’m going to write.
Brittany: Tell us about the bullshit Amazon is pulling with Yes, Master and how one can buy that.

Margaret: Oh yes, my dear friends over at Amazon. Yes, Master went live Feb 13th (becoming an Amazon bestseller), in May they sent me an email telling me it was ‘breaching their content guidelines’ and were going to pull it.
In August (11 weeks later) they FINALLY pulled it. After numerous (approx. 50+) emails, various failed calls where they weren’t available to speak to me (and promised me phone calls back- which never came), I got an email telling me that if I fixed what was in violation I could re-upload it BUT they refused to tell me what was wrong with it.
So I ‘fixed’ what I thought it could be, re-uploaded it, only to get told 9 days later, that if I try and upload again they’ll ban me from Amazon altogether. UM COMMUNICATION PEOPLE!!! Now it’s on Smashword, itunes and B&N. I’ve just ordered the PB and when I get it, you’ll be able to purchase it directly though my FB or author page.

Brittany: Take this time to tell us about each of your books. (I will add covers and buy links, feel free to lump the hit series into one)

Margaret: All my books are so different, so I won’t bore you with too many details.
But I have my HiT Series about a female alpha assassin who has a one-nighter with a cop, who unbeknown to her, is her next target. There are so many twists and turns in that one.

Then there’s Yes, Master – A boy who was sexually abused by a trusted family member for years- is hopelessly lost in a darkened and defeated mindset, until he finds the one thing he’d never really had an understanding of.

Of course, there’s A Life Less Broken – A young woman abducted and viciously raped and tortured and left for dead. Years later, trapped inside her home (and her mind) she seeks help from a new therapist.

And now I have Grit – A real fun book. A mixture between funny/sexy/suspense/erotic. An alpha male with no filter, who started out as a street fighter who’s now a MC President meeting a redhead cowgirl who’s personality matches her wild hair.

Now we return to your regularly scheduled programming...

Brittany: What was your most challenging novel to write?

Margaret: It would have to be firstly Yes, Master followed by A Life Less Broken. Yes, Master was incredibly difficult to get into the mind of a 10 year old sexually abused boy. I did a lot of research with that, and it hurt my heart what I found, but it was also such a huge eye opener. Every book I do research on, but YM just absolutely consumed me for months.
Brittany: Do you have a favorite you’ve written?

Margaret: They’re all my favorite. Anna (my assassin) has a special place because she was my 1st, Ryan (Yes, Master) is so intense and so beautifully innocent that I adored him, Allyn and Dominic (A Life Less Broken) were two shattered souls just needing to find each-other, and Jaeger and Nix (Grit) have such an explosive relationship that I can’t help BUT love their banter.
Brittany: We’re gonna play a game. We have marry, date, fuck, and chuck. Take your characters, Ben, Jaeger, Dr. Dominic Shriver, and Ryan.

Margaret: We are so not playing this game. Because I’d definitely not chuck any of them, although Jaeger’s lack of filter would see a big hand print across his face!
I love them all. I want them all as my husband. There’s 4 there, I just need to find 3 more and I have 1 for each day of the week. Or a REALLY good party!!!
What about you Brittany? Which would you marry, date, fuck and chuck???

Brittany: Okay, let's see. I would chuck Ben. I'm not into the assassin/cop thing. I'd probably fuck Jaeger. He's not dating or marriage material, but he's good in bed, or so I've heard. Probably date Ryan, because he wants to obey a woman. And definitely marry Dr. Dominic Shriver because he is sweet and definitely husband material. Plus he has plenty of money.
Brittany: You write an array of subjects. You have written about an assassin, then you have a darker novel, then you have a sweet, ugly cry, then you have this hilarious but dark MC book. Where do you come up with so many ideas?

Margaret: Yes, Master came to me while I was showering! I thought about all the D/s books out there and I really wanted a book with a spin on it. And I thought I like the idea of a Domme. By the time I had finished washing my hair I had the outline of the story, the character names and the title of the book.
A Life Less Broken came to me from something a friend said. It played on my mind for a few weeks and the more I thought about what was told to me, the more Allyn’s story came to life.
Grit came to me because I read on a blog that she loves MMA books and MC books. I thought ‘hey, I can do that, but I’ll make it into 1 book.’ Started writing it that night, but had to stop because Allyn (A Life Less Broken) kept calling me.
And the new book I’m writing…. That’s under wraps.

Brittany: You have a signing coming up that you’re really excited for. Tell us about that.

Margaret: YAY my very first one. Gold Coast Australia in March. You would think it’s the Oscars and I’m nominated for Best Actress. I’m super excited. I’ve already started getting all my books and swag together for it. EEEEEEEPPPPPP!!! I CAN’T WAIT.
Brittany: If your first series hadn’t been as successful as it was, would you still be writing?

Margaret: My first book HiT 149 was going to be it for me. I wasn’t going to write anything else, because I had no other ideas. But after about four months the ideas really started coming, and I thought, ‘why not’. Gotta give it a go, if I suck, it’ll reflect with my fans (or lack thereof). If I’m alright then with every book I’ll write I’ll be lucky enough to gain the appreciation of new fans.
Brittany: How hard is it to self-publish and promote yourself?

Margaret: Painfully difficult. I have a few phenomenal street team members that do everything in their power to pimp me out. And I’m beyond humbled and so grateful of everything they do for me.
Brittany: Why did you decide to self-publish?

Margaret: First because I never want to lose control of my books. Second, because the market allows me to be able to express myself through words and choose to publish them where I want.
Brittany: Do you have any advice for anyone that wants to self-publish?

Margaret: YES!!! Find a great editor, a fantastic proofreader and trustworthy BETA’s.
Brittany: Okay, time to move on. Let’s get to know you.

Margaret: *running away
Brittany: What can we find you doing in your spare time besides writing?

Margaret: I’m a social butterfly, so out with my girlfriends having coffee and lunch.
Brittany: I won’t let you forget that you still have to do the ice bucket challenge.

Margaret: I promise I’ll do it while I’m vacation.
Brittany: Tell us about life in Australia.

Margaret: It’s really laid back, everyone’s easy going. Where I live it’s quite open and beautiful.

Brittany: So... not like this, then?
Picture
Brittany: TIM TAMS! Enlighten us, and make a statement about why America should have Tim Tams in their stores.

Margaret: TIM TAMS – dear lord!!! I’ve created a monster!! Tim tams are by far the most delicious cookie an American person (or any person) will EVER eat!
Picture
Brittany: What’s your favorite food?

Margaret: I don’t have a favorite food – I love everything!!!
Brittany: What about your favorite movie?

Margaret: Hmmm – this one is hard. I really enjoy movies that screw with your mind. There’s so many. And I love violence – and fast paced. I adore thrillers but I HATE horrors. Sci-fi is so-so too. I can take it or leave it, not really into them.
Brittany: Is there any food chains in Australia that we don’t have here?

Margaret: I have no clue whatsoever!! I’ll tell you when I visit you.
Brittany: When are you coming to the good ole’ US of A?

Margaret: I would LOVE to be able to come out there for a few author signings in 2016. That’s my ultimate goal.
Brittany: Have you seen Borat? If not, you’ll find it hysterical. Watch it. Oh! And both Anchorman movies.

Margaret: Believe it or not, but, no I’ve not watched them! *runs really fast
Brittany: Anything you’d like to say to the haters out there? Especially Amazon. I hate them.

Margaret: Not really, I don’t waste my time thinking about them.
Picture
Brittany: What did you want to be when you were younger?

Margaret: Oh my!!! What a funny question. Funny because growing up I never had any dreams to do anything! I just wanted to float through life and never really make a splash – just go unnoticed. Now though, I want my splash to be distinctive to everyone else’s, because sometimes the written word can make a person take notice of something they’ve been blankly staring at their entire lives.
Brittany: Has anything that’s happened in your life surprised you?

Margaret: There is nothing that surprises me in life, about myself or about other people. Not a single thing…unless if you told me that your alter-ego is Dexter.
Brittany: A tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it. Does it make a sound?

Margaret: A deaf person feels its vibrations half a mile away, was it silent?

Brittany: Touché Margaret. Touché.
Brittany: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be?

Margaret: To where the Titanic sunk. I have a morbid fascination with it. I’d love to see it, though I think I’d freak out!
Brittany: Who are your biggest influences?

Margaret: I don’t have any. Truthfully I don’t model myself on anyone. I just try to be the best I can be.
Brittany: Is there anything weird about you that not many people know?

Margaret:  Define weird!

Picture
Brittany: Is there a TV show that you will drop everything for?

Margaret: I used to be into TV, but not anymore. Most of the time you can find me penning a story.
Brittany: Do you have any books (not yours!) that you’d like to recommend to readers?

Margaret: Bound and Freed by Nikki Sex, any John Grisham book, Joey W Hill’s Knights of the Boardroom (holy smokes hot, especially book 5), Gabriel Trilogy.
Brittany: Thank you, my lovely wife, for taking the time to complete this interview. I know you are in the midst of releasing a book and you are rather busy. So thank you!

Margaret: You’re very welcome, thank you for allowing me the time to talk with you and your beautiful fans.
