She studied international business at Arizona State University and has also lived in Costa Rica and New York City. Some of her favorite things include traveling, her dog Kimo, Scrabble, driving aimlessly and creating Top Five lists. She is the helpless victim of an overactive imagination that finds inspiration in music and tranquility in writing. Currently she resides wherever her head lands, which lately is the unexpected (but warm) keyboard of her trusty MacBook.Review by Brittany![]() Lola and her boyfriend Johnny have been together nine years. And most days of those nine years, Lola has helped Johnny manage a bar on the Sunset Strip in LA. The bar is starting to lose patrons, which means it’s losing money… which means if someone doesn’t buy it, they’ll have to close. This bar, Hey Joe, is how Johnny and Lola make a living. Without this bar, they will have to start all over. They were desperate, willing to almost anything to save this bar. One night, a man in a suit comes into Hey Joe. It’s not their usual customer, but when Beau bets with them on games like darts and pool, they realize he comes from money, and lots of it. They want to make him feel welcome and hope that he’ll keep coming back, and hopefully with friends. “One night. One million dollars. And that’s my final offer.” That’s what happens when Beau approaches the couple with an offer of money in exchange for one night with Lola. That money could help them make a living and buy the bar, which is full of history. This decision isn’t to be taken lightly. It could ruin everything. Do they take the money? Or do they take their pride and let it all go? I loved this book! Like I devoured it. This is book one in a three part serial, and my god, I couldn’t get enough! It’s so well written, the story just sucks you in. And it leaves you wanting to know what happens. The good thing is, these books are supposed to be released within weeks of each other, so if you’re one of those people that like to read it all at once, you won’t have to wait too long! Beau. Oh, Beau. God, I have some strong feelings for him. I can’t actually decide if he’s a dick or if he’s a good guy. One minute I’m like “YOU’RE HORRIBLE!” and then the next I’m like “Awww, he’s so sweet!” Then the next page I’m like “GO TO HELL.” And then I’m all like “I would marry him.” Then it’s back to “Prick.” *narrowed eyes* I praise Jessica Hawkins for this book! I think she did an amazing job and the editing is spectacular! Plus I think that people are really going to enjoy this serial. Video Review by Brittany
