DAMIEN
Handsome. Dangerous. Tortured.

From a young age I learned love is a smokescreen. It does nothing, but bring heartbreak and pain. My solace came from the darkness, from watching fear flicker in their pretty eyes. It’s all I knew.

Until her.

We’re forbidden. We shouldn’t crave this. But there’s no longer a way out.
Unless we find common ground, unless I let her in.

NESRIN
Polished. Pristine. Broken.

From a young age, I found solace in the dark, comfort in pain, and relief with a blade. It became normal to hide away, to watch the crimson trickle out as contentment flooded me. It’s all I knew.

Until him.

It’s illicit. It’s morally wrong. But desire has a mind of its own.
I thought I was free. But this love was a cut so deep, it would never heal.

4.5 Heart Review by Lorena

The first book in this series and I can't wait to read more!

A girl who is an introvert, doesn't like crowds or people.  The total opposite of her mother who happens to be in the spotlight all the time.  Nesrin doesn't come from a loving family.  Her mother never treats her with love, on the contrary, she's always looking for ways to berate her for any little thing.  Nesrin's father left when she was still too young and he's never looked back, she's never heard from him again.

When Nesrin's mother marries a wealthy man he comes with a package as well.  Mr. Thorne has three sons in their twenties already and all three are single, but even though Nesrin is a beautiful girl, the guys were told that she was forbidden and to treat her like a sister.  The oldest of the Thorne son's is the one that really is captivated with Nesrin and since he's one to never follow rules.....

The story unfolds beautifully between Nesrin and Damien.  Even though they know it's wrong and they shouldn't they still can't stay away from each other.  Both have deep wounds that obviously are hard to heal.

This age gap forbidden romance was definitely a captivating one for me.  I was so caught in the book that it was so hard to put down.
