![]() Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to. But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before. He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn't the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper. Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her? Unless…could this be love? Now newly revised and expanded, Anna Todd’s After fanfiction racked up 1 billion reads online and captivated readers across the globe. Experience the Internet’s most talked-about book for yourself! There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything AFTER ... Life will never be the same. Review by Lorena I absolutely love reading YA/NA and I adore reading books that takes place in college. Something about the college genre always has me hooked. As I started reading After, I thought at first that I was going to be irritated and annoyed with Hardin and Tessa with their whole back and forth, he loves me, he loves me not type of thing going. But as I continued reading the book, I realized how much I was hooked and couldn't find the time to take a break from reading this book. I was intrigued with Hardin and his whole mysterious aura he had going and Tessa, even though she had the whole good girl vibes, she certainly could be a bad girl having a boyfriend and lusting over another boy. These two individuals were the complete opposites, but somehow that seemed to work for them. They were always going back and forth but they always wound up right back where they should be, in each other's arms. The characters felt so real to me. People change quickly and even though Tessa was a good girl when she started college, she quickly changed when she started hanging out with her roommate who was the complete opposite of her, but would always persuade her to go to parties with her. The scene was so totally not Tessa but she tried and even though she would always swear she wouldn't attend these parties anymore, there she goes again and would come back disappointed or upset. But that didn't deter her from attending these college parties. Hardin was confusing. He would be mean to Tessa one minute and sweet the next. That certainly confused the poor girl, but she was so smitten by him that she just started accepting his weird mood swings. They were both so different, yet that seemed to work for them. Hardin was a major and I mean major JERK! He loved teasing Tessa to the point where she would get mad and upset just so he could turn around the next minute and be the sweetest guy to her and she would fall for his charms. The author did an amazing job with this book, she really took me to a whole new level of understanding this genre. Hands down 5 star read!
