Divorced. Mother of two.

She’s planned the vacation of a lifetime for a reboot,

only to encounter an awakening adventure—Tommy Carrigan.

Independent. Carefree.

He’s on an annual holiday with his band family,

when the unexpected happens—Edie Williams.

4.5 Star Review by Ashley

What can I say about L.B. Dunbar's writing that I haven't before? Probably nothing but here are some thoughts on the awesomeness of After Care. I loved the setting, Hawaii being one of my post favorite places to have the privilege to visit and enjoy. The cast of characters- which included musicians and the people you know in your everyday life was lively and well rounded. Each had their own distinct personality that added something to the story.

An unlikely meeting. Opposites. Soft to hard. Classic to rock & roll. Rooted to wild. But both lonely. A protector, a legend and shrewd business man, Tommy. A mother, a fighter, a survivor, Edie. While Tommy was a total stud with his silver hair, tattoos and hard body, it was Edie that was the real rock star. I loved her. She is every woman. Strong yet vulnerable. Adventurous with caution. Genuine, loyal and giving to a fault.

These two shouldn't have made sense, shouldn't have worked. But they did. Tommy saw past the scarf and scars to the stunning person that Edie was at her core. And Edie saw the man behind the bravado and boldness. She got the man who cared, nurtured and protected his family and his heart. But with Edie all bets were off. She did something to him. Mmmm mmmm mmmmm!! Edie and Tommy together was sexy and romantic and had me swooning all over the place.

After Care, while not your typical romance novel, blew me away. I feel like I've repeated myself about seven times but this book is truly something special. Edie and Tommy's story was part nightmare and part better than a dream. L.B. Dunbar wove a story so realistic that I felt like I knew the characters. I wanted to dance and do yoga and celebrate with them. I wanted to bask in their pain and joy and love.
