Born to a prestigious political family, Avery Adams plays as hard as he works. The gorgeous, charismatic attorney is used to getting what he wants, even the frequent one-night stands that earn him his well-deserved playboy reputation. When some of the most prominent men in politics suggest he run for senate, Avery decides the time has come to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. With a strategy in place and the campaign wheels rolling, Avery is ready to jump on the legislative fast track, full steam ahead. But no amount of planning prepares him for the handsome, uptight restaurateur who might derail his political future.

Easy isn't even in the top thousand words to describe Kane Dalton's life after his father, a devout southern Baptist minister, kicks him out of the family home for questioning his sexual orientation. Despite all the rotten tomatoes life throws his way, Kane makes something of himself. Between owning a thriving upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Minneapolis and managing his long-term boyfriend, his plate is full. He struggles to get past the teachings of his childhood to fully accept his sexuality and rid himself of the doubts brought on by his religious upbringing. The last thing he needs is the yummy, sophisticated, blond-haired distraction sitting at table thirty-four.

I am speechless right now. I just finished with this book and I can’t reveal what happens, but I will say, the ending is going to emotionally scar you. It will cut you up and spit you back out. Really. Be prepared when you read this. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Always is a M/M erotic romance. It follows the story of Kane Dalton and Avery Adams as they find their love for each other and start a life together. There are explicit gay sex scenes, so if you aren’t into that, stay away.

The erotic scenes didn’t particularly do much for me, but this was my first M/M romance that I’ve read, so I guess I just found out that it isn’t my cup of tea. Putting that aside, Kindle Alexander has an AMAZING story line to this book. I absolutely loved it.

Avery Adams walks into Kane Dalton’s restaurant not expecting to find his soul mate, but that’s exactly what happens. Avery becomes a whirlwind in Kane’s everyday life, turning everything upside down. Soon they’re married with children, and Avery is running as the vice presidential candidate for the Democratic Party.

We start in the early 1970’s, taking a journey through the most monumental events in Kane and Avery’s lives. Kindle did such an excellent job at conveying the love these two had for each other. I have never read a book where I felt such love between the two characters. Great job!

I loved traveling through time. Not many books do that; they’ll throw in a flashback or two, but not many actually start in the past and make their way to present day. This allowed the story to flow very well, and I was never, not once, bored with the story. I expected, since this was a M/M romance, that it was all going to be sex. That wasn’t the case here. There was a story line, and that was more prominent than the romantic relations the two characters shared.

The supporting characters are also amazing. Very dynamic, and they each played a role in Kane and Avery’s lives. Kindle Alexander is a fantastic writer and I am so going to read more of her work once I get a chance.

I am really torn on the rating for this book. The story line, grammar, and characters were all amazing, but I just felt the steam factor lacked a little. I’ve heard that Kindle is the queen at M/M erotic literature, so maybe it’s just me. I have to give this novel four stars, but I’m still on the fence. Kindle, I loved this story. What you did at the end was kind of messed up, though. You just can’t do that. That’s all I have to say about that. Really. But thank you for an amazing, emotional story.
