How could someone so pure want filth like him? Damon Comb was no stranger to pain, hunger, loneliness, and abandonment. Being given a family that would die for one another didn’t erase six years of torture. It didn’t take away the nightmares. She did. She was everything someone like him should never be allowed. She was goodness and strength and she made him human. How could someone so broken complete her? Willa McClain had it all, a family that adored each other, the love of an entire town and a future she worked her butt off to get. But all she wanted was the boy with the sad blue eyes and the crooked smile. He was her best friend, her protector and the only one who really understood her. How could a love like theirs be extinguished? But nothing ever lasted forever. Damon knew better than anyone how quickly the tides could change. Can he keep his past at bay before it consumes the only light in his dark world? Can he finally tell Willa the truth, or will his fears tear them apart forever? How could love so strong ever fail? Review by AmandaAlways Yours, Baby is the fourth instalment in the Baby Saga series by the brilliant Airicka Phoenix, and features the beautifully bittersweet tale of Damon Comb and Willa McClain. Each of these books can be read as a standalone, but as the characters do filter through in the various books, I would highly recommend reading the other 3 books first. This has been the book I was most looking forward to as I fell in love with the relationship between these two from their days as children. Damon and Willa have been inseparable since they were children – the love between them has always been there, but both are too scared to admit how they feel about one another. Damon is terrified that Willa will leave him and Willa is scared of her own shadow. Although the two are initially an unlikely duo, the real love that you feel off the pages between them is palpable and fairy tale worthy. I loved the fact that Damon who had initially endured a thoroughly debaucherous childhood has grown into this amazing and caring man. Of all the characters that I have come to know and love in this series, he has most certainly been my favourite. He is multi-faceted and completely 3 dimensional. He is a breath of fresh air in this genre, and I was completely smitten with him from page one. The way he loved Willa is like balm to your soul, it is pure and brilliant. Willa is a gentle soul who, although she has been exposed to the world, still has this endearing childlike quality to her nature. She is someone that loves unconditionally and irrevocably and to watch her come out of her shell during this book makes it worth reading on its own. I love how Airicka Phoenix weaves a web that leaves you completely transfixed with the characters and makes them become your family. This book is my most favourite in the series and it delivered on every level. I also loved seeing how everyone else we have come to know and love is doing – and the snippets that we are given into their lives really does complete the book in the most beautiful way. I love everything about these books and Airicka Phoenix has me as a fan for life. They are the perfect mixture of love, family, heartache and passion. I am giving Always Yours, Baby a FANTASTIC 4.5 stars. Meet Airicka PhoenixAiricka Phoenix is a romance junkie with an incurable addiction to chocolate.
