![]() Family. Everyone has one. Some are close. Some are dysfunctional. Some are simply gone. Nine-year-old Shae Black entered the Witness Protection Program after the murder of her father, mob boss Luca DiMarco. New name. New identity. And a ready-made family that had no idea who she really was. Fourteen years later, a letter from a ghost thrusts Shae back into the life she was forced to leave behind. As secrets unravel, revealing unexpected truths, Shae sees an opportunity to avenge her father’s death by destroying patriarch Sal Ambrosi, the man responsible for her father’s murder. Getting to the heart of the family will be difficult, but nothing and no one is going to stop her—not even the heirs to the Ambrosi family empire. She’s prepared for the two brothers, Dante and Rex, to put up a fight, but she isn’t at all prepared for the danger they will bring to her life and her heart. One will love her. One will hate her. One will vow to protect her. One will vow to kill her. All in the name of family. 4.5 Star Review by Ashley I think my jaw is still on the floor after finishing Black. I mean serious wow! K.L. Grayson went big with this book and and it paid off. Tremendously. It was different from her other works but still packed a major emotional punch. There was mystery and intrigue, romance and humor, danger and more twists than I could keep up with. Shae, I felt for this girl. Lost but searching. Guarded yet hopeful. On a new mission to find the missing pieces of her past- horrific as they may be. Which leads me to Rex. The mystery man she meets on the street. The man who knows her best friends. The man who can't stop thinking about her. The man who piece by piece breaks down Shae's walls. The man who accepts her for all that she is and all that she isn't. The man who has his own demons. Rex and Shae together was something else. They were intense but also tender and sweet. AND SEXY! So, so sexy. One night turns into two and two turns into something neither of them could deny. As the relationship neither of them wanted turns serious, more and more of Shae's past starts coming back to her. This book consumed me. Every sweet kiss, every plot twist, every layer of Rex and Shae that was revealed just pulled me further and further into the madness. And the last third of the book- holy wow! It was downright explosive. Everything moved so fast that my head was spinning and I was reading furiously to see what would happen next. And exhale....Let the record show that I want me some Rex and that I absolutely can not wait to see what happens with Dante! About the Author K.L. Grayson resides in a small town outside of St. Louis, MO. She is entertained daily by her extraordinary husband, who will forever inspire every good quality she writes in a man. Her entire life rests in the palms of six dirty little hands, and when the day is over and those pint-sized cherubs have been washed and tucked into bed, you can find her typing away furiously on her computer. She has a love for alpha-males, brownies, reading, tattoos, sunglasses, and happy endings…and not particularly in that order.
