I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review, yeah, blah blah blah. Yeah, I don’t normally add those to my reviews, but there’s a story to this one. I received an email with multiple blog tour sign ups, and I was reading the synopsis for some of them. I wasn’t actually going to sign up for this one, but as I laid in bed that night trying to fall asleep, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I was like “This must mean something.” I signed up and now that I’ve read it… it was like the spirit of Dee Kelly telling me to read her book.

Katherine Moore thought she had found love in Michael Matthews, her best friend since second grade. They had their future all planned out, they were going to go to college together, graduate and get married. That all changed in an instant when Michael’s father is killed and everyone turns the blame on Katherine and her father.

Four years later, Katherine is now known as Kate, is a double major at UCLA, and has three friends, if you count Marc. When her best friend Jess finally convinces her to go out and meet a guy, she will forever be grateful, for she has just met that man of her dreams.

Daniel McCormick is still suffering from the effects of a relationship that ended six months ago. His best friend Connor convinces him to go out and meet a girl at a party he’s hosting. Now Daniel owes Connor, because he just met the woman of his dreams.

It’s a love at first sight type of relationship, and it’s moving fast. They are totally in love with each other and aren’t expecting the ball to drop two weeks into their relationship.

I’m still reeling from the ending of this book! It ends of a semi-cliffhanger, nothing too bad, so it’s up to you whether or not you’re going to read it. But I definitely recommend this book, and the whole series should hopefully be out by the end of the year.

Not only is this book full of sweetness, this book has some pretty hot sex scenes. Yeah, I’d probably put this not only in the contemporary romance genre, but the erotica section of Amazon as well. I was quite surprised by the steam factor; I expected sweet, lovey-dovey sex. What I got was some panty-melting, hot eroticism.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. From the synopsis, I knew what was going to happen, but I just didn’t know when it’d strike. It happened abruptly, which is good. I didn’t have time to prepare. Well, I did. I have a habit of skimming a page before I read. I know, I know. I need to stop that.

Dee Kelly gets five stars from me, with a promise that I will snag a paperback at some point in my life. I will also meet her, get her autograph, and a picture. Oh, and just so you know, I’m #TeamDaniel4Ever.

Dee Kelly, this was a fantastic novel. I am waiting ever so impatiently for more work from you. You have earned my undying support and promises of pimping you out on my blog. Congratulations! I loved every minute of it.

About D. Kelly

Picture
I'm a wife, a mom and a dog lover. I'm also a taxi, problem fixer, extreme multi-tasker and my kids biggest fan in anything that they do. I love to write, so when my career suddenly turned into a job that I hated I turned back to my love of writing. I married my high school sweetheart... how cool is that? Margaritas and sarcasm make me happy. Chocolate makes that happiness grow exponentially. People who make me laugh are my favorite kind of people. I believe Karma is a bitch who slaps back hard and that mean people suck. I'm California born and raised, I love the beach but hate the sand. Breaking Kate is my first novel and is part of The Acceptance Series.
