I was the hero once, one of the good guys...until I was betrayed.

Now,  I'm something else. I am the shadow that haunts the night. I am a hunter, a protector...a force for good...I am Jonas Castillo.

For years I've existed on the edge of the dark, protecting innocents who can't protect themselves. Until... her. Jessica JJ Jones. The bane of my existence. A bright light in the dark.  The crack in my armor. A loud, argumentative beautiful crack in my armor.

But first, there's a more immediate concern. JJ is running scared. And to protect her I might have to break the vow I made years ago.

3 Heart Review by Ashley

Broken Ties is my first read from this duo and whew! was it intense from the get go.

I really liked Jonas. He was just a good guy who was dedicated to his job and cause. And JJ was a force. Sassy and headstrong and didn't back down. There was so much animosity between these two that I knew when they got together it was going to be combustible...and I was right. JJ and Jonas were hot hot hot.

Until a blast from her past showed up and completely shattered her safe space. The threat was dangerous and downright sinister at times. It brought out all of Jonas's protective instincts but also showed his tender side too. I liked seeing JJ vulnerable. It made her that much more relatable.

There is no question that Jonas and JJ's enemies-to-lovers romance was suspenseful and sexy but at times I found myself wanting more connection between them. Plus there were a few threads that were left loose. That being said, I loved the found family feel between all the characters and hope to see them all again down the line.

About the Authors

Picture
Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

M. Malone is a RITA® Award winner and a NYT & USA Today Bestselling author of completely inappropriate romantic comedy. She lives with her husband and their two sons in the picturesque mountains of Northern Virginia even though she is afraid of insects, birds, butterflies and other humans. She also holds a Master's degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized at how she's using her expensive education.
