She left her painful past behind.

Poppy Larsen is finally free. She moved to Crimson Point to make a new life for herself, full of bright possibilities. A whole new world awaits her, if she can find the courage to trust again—even her gorgeous neighbor, the town sheriff. But darkness lurks in the picturesque Oregon Coast town, concealing a deadly threat that’s closer than she ever imagined.

Now a killer is watching her from the shadows.

Sheriff Noah Buchanan can’t help but be intrigued by his new neighbor. She’s hard working, sexy as hell, and unlike most of the women in town, she hasn’t thrown herself at him. After it becomes clear that she plans to put down roots here, he finds himself falling more and more for Poppy and her big heart. When someone from her past tries to hurt her, it triggers all his protective instincts. But the real danger is hiding in plain sight. When the unthinkable happens, Noah is thrust into a race against time to save her before it’s too late.

4 Star Review by Ashley

I was anticipating Poppy and Noah's story since their first semi-awkward interaction in the first book (which you don't have to read to follow this one). Holy wow! Buried Lies was a non-stop ride of lots of things.

I liked Poppy a whole lot. She was strong and vulnerable. Generous and Forgiving. Independent yet lonely. I admired her gumption the go out and grind it out to build a life she could be proud of. Noah noticed her hard work too. It didn't hurt that the hot cop is her neighbor and they saw a fair amount of each other.

Things between these two were h-o-t HOT! I liked that they built their friendship first. And how, in turn, Poppy gained friendships of her own with the people in Noah's life. They became important to her too. But there was an unknown danger lurking in the shadows and when a perfect storm of circumstances align's, Poppy was in for the fight of her life.

This might sound weird but I liked the creepy factor in this book. There was more than one person that could've been watching Poppy. I thought I knew who it was, well I was wrong in a major way. I didn't see it coming at all and even when I knew, I still couldn't believe it. And what Poppy endured at the hands of this person had my heart racing.

Kaylea Cross gave me everything I want in a romantic suspense novel. There was action and steam and laughter and mystery and romance. Noah and Poppy are the embodiment of take a chance on me and I am so glad they did. And the set-up for the next book in this series, featuring Molly, whewww- I need it now!
